  1. Did you miss my post on this page where I said I found it and even posted the disk image of it... By the way, is this the Apple II - Atari Joystick adapter you need?
  2. Well wouldn't you know it, there is a mini program on the disk! The program is buggy with undefined line statements, perhaps from damage to my disk? In any event, I've made a disk image of it which includes the original BASIC program, a quickly modified version I made to make it runnable, and a HELLO program to auto start it. Have fun! Disk image is here: http://tanrunomad.com/wp-content/uploads/TomLander.do
  3. Taxman is a great game. I have the original disk, but there's no program on the backside of it. Is it possible it never made it onto the final release? I always thought the mention of a "free mini game" was just a gimmick. If you have the original BASIC program, I'd love to see it.
  4. I have Castelian (NES) complete in box if you want to trade. Or I can buy it. Thanks.
  5. My understanding is that the Retron 5 is just a very expensive emulator box. It doesn't actually play your games, it just looks up the ROM and plays it via emulator. You can basically do the same thing with your PSP, Android phone, or an old XBOX original. I apologize if I'm misunderstanding what it is.
  6. I thought so anyways. Picked it up on Craigslist today. Can anyone guess the character? Hint: He can shoot heat-seeking lasers and has sensitive feet.
  7. Thanks! Oh yes, we mustn't forget VisiCalc! It was cool discovering my dad's connection to Beagle Bros. Small world. Emulation. All the capture devices I've seen produce major color bleeding on Apple II games. If you have any recommendations, I'm definitely wanting a good solution.
  8. I put together an Apple II review you all might enjoy. I did it in part because there really aren't too many in-depth reviews of that computer (which is quite surprising!) and also as an excuse to show off some of my collection . It mainly focuses on the original model, but also shows software supported by the platform in general, whether it requires 4K or 128K of RAM. It was fun to make and most of the challenge was deciding on what key events, features and innovative peripherals to focus on. Also deciding which games to show during that segment. I left out a lot of classics, but I can only fit so many in such a short time. Enjoy!
  9. Thexder is my favorite computer game of all time! I played that game so much on the old Apple IIGS. I'd actually be interested in buying or trading for it. I have a boxed copy of Shufflepuck Cafe for the Macintosh, you know you want it. Regarding rare, but not valuable, that is a trend with computer games. If it's a rare console game, no matter how bad it is, then it commands lots of money. However, I have some Apple II games that are so rare that there may only be a handful of copies that exist in the world, but likely wouldn't sell for more than $50 or so on eBay.
  10. Saw this game listed this morning and thought I'd ask what your rarest, most valuable game or system is in your collection? Also what is your personal favorite piece, even if it doesn't command a lot of cash.
  11. All the time. I'm still using version 1.1.5 so I should probably get with the times! ADTPro is one of the greatest third party items I use with my Apple II and until the CFFA 3000 is able to write disk images to real disks, I reckon I'll continue to use it extensively.
  12. Would there be any interest in a new game for the Entex Adventure Vision? If so, what type of game would you like to see for it?
  13. Castelian (Gameboy) You play as a frog pig named Julius who must climb 8 towers and destroy them. It's a challenging puzzle action game with poor hit detection and lame bonus stages, but I enjoyed it.
  14. The first 50,000 units were Woz editions, the other million units were non-Woz, but I have to agree at times the Woz edition does seem almost as common, if not more so. Maybe people held onto them more often thinking they'd add in value. IIGSes are so common in general though, I actually struggle just to sell mine for $20-40. A rarer IIGS to hold onto would be the IIGS upgrade model and rarer still would be the Cortland model (seen below), especially those in a IIGS case (most seem to be in a IIe case). Of course the rarest is the Mark Twain IIGS (ROM-04) which I've never seen in person.
  15. My understanding is that Taxman is rather hard to come by these days. I've only it seen it pop-up twice on eBay. The first time selling for like $30 or something, but the last time it was over $100. Super Taxman 2 sold for significantly more. I know AVGN owns a copy because he showed it in one of his videos before.
  16. I played Moon Patrol all the time in my 5th grade classroom. My buddy and I would play at the same time with one of us controlling the moon buggy and the other in control of the weapon and then we'd blame each other whenever we crashed or got hit. It was one of the rare Apple II games to have background music during game play. Bilestoad was another one that did this.
  17. I'm not familiar with it, but it may be an educational game by MECC or Harley or another company like them. It's likely listed somewhere in the Apple II Games database and the disk image may be on Asimov.
  18. That's what I thought when I saw the ad and called them up asking about the price. They said everything was "$10 to $15". They didn't actually advertise any of the game systems by name so it was total luck finding it in a blurry picture, but I recognized that Adventure System immediately. I had the chance to play one at SC3 last year and it was love at first wobble. Thanks. That game gave me so much trouble growing up. If felt so good to get through it as quickly as I did. I actually captured a moment during one of my attempts when there was a glitch and 2 hexalons came at me from BOTH sides moving at about 5 times their regular speed! I didn't realize just how rare these things were. There were like 50,000 produced so it's surprising more of them aren't around. Take for instance the Otrona Attache computer also from that time period. Only about 10,000 of them were made and yet there's almost always one on eBay. I guess folks were more likely to throw out game systems than computers. I did feel a little guilty, but I did have to drive 3.5 hours in the heaviest rain we've had in awhile to get them. Only 2.5 hours coming back at least. Also, I didn't even attempt to negotiate.
  19. Pretty big portable gaming haul (all by Entex). $60 total ($10 per system). Made a quick video of the Adventure Vision unit: http://youtu.be/m8mgYxtRaN8?list=UUWzuNflwywaRVerbDsgG2lA
  20. Here's a 6MB RAM card (unpopulated) currently priced at $10.50: http://www.ebay.com/itm/331411041613
