  1. Yeah, that's a great tune. I like the c64 version the best: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pUT12F3nzCU Yeah, Rad Warrior! The c64 version is among my favorites for sure! Apple II's not bad for, well, an Apple II
  2. I feel bad for Earl Weaver. I seem to always find that game in free listings. I actually sold my own copy on ebay for $2.00 I think... Still nice of you to donate these games. I hope they find a good home.
  3. Glad I'm not alone. Yeah, some of the enemies were invincible and many would respawn 2 seconds after you killed them. The game is brutally hard, but not bad.
  4. It's all about getting that classic arcade formula of being easy to learn and difficult to master. I think it's "cheap" when the majority of deaths are caused by bad controls and not legitimate deaths by enemies.
  5. It's a Ghosts N' Goblin's inspired platformer. I played the Apple IIGS version a lot as a kid and it was tough as nails. I finally picked up a boxed copy and the screenshots on the back are from the Atari ST version so I can only assume it originated on this platform. Here's my review of it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U7Djeez4yqE
  6. Thank you. That's exactly what I meant On a serious note. That is very sad news indeed.
  7. Jobs had a great vision for the Apple II and had influence over the cosmetic design and marketing of the early models, but as far as I know, had nothing to do with the IIGS. Actually, Jobs wanted to end the Apple II line altogether and if it wasn't for John Sculley, the Apple II line may have ended even earlier than it did. I do agree it would be nice to have more Apple II-related videos on youtube, but I do host a channel almost entirely devoted to that system and have over 50 Apple II and IIGS related videos, mostly of games.
  8. If we can choose a computer, then Apple IIGS and the game... THEXDER!
  9. This is soooo three days ago No honestly, I only read about this last week and thought it just insane! Thank goodness his dad shipped over those old disks.
  10. You have almost the exact same setup I do! I upgraded my board to a ROM03 (still have the Woz edition case though) and got a 10mhz ZipGSX that makes a world of difference. The CFFA3000 is freakin awesome too and I also love my soundmeister card.
  11. My friend showed me this on Saturday. I wish they'd keep that Quest option there on google maps forever. It's so cool!
  12. Thought I'd post a review I did awhile back on the IIGS system:
  13. For a wholly imaginary non-entity, Nobody has sure posted in here quite a lot. I meant where I lived among my friends and classmates, no one ever said SNESSS, not once to my recollection. I didn't mean no one ever said it from anywhere on the planet.
  14. That's really cool. Now I can actually play Rampage on a 3.5" disk!
  15. Well phreakindee, it's Phreakindee! Nice to see a familiar face. I may be adding commodore SX-64 soon if the local seller will come down on his price. Luckily I'm practically the only vintage computer collector in my town
  16. If I had to choose between the IIe and IIc Plus, I'd definitely go with the IIe. It was better designed, more expandable, and 99% of 8-bit apple II software is on 5.25 " floppies. Also DOS 3.3 can only be formatted on 5.25 media. However, the IIGS reigns supreme since it plays 8-bit and 16-bit Apple II software and has arguably the best sound chip of any 80s personal computer.
  17. Sure no problem. Like you, I never owned or even used a IIc Plus in my youth. I eventually picked one up at an estate sale last year and it's pretty cool for playing games with double hires graphics that would typically crawl on an Apple II running at 1mhz. The IIGS is still my Apple II computer of choice though since it plays most 8-bit titles as well as IIGS-specific ones.
  18. My review of the last Apple II model computer, the Apple IIc Plus (1988) which was only on the market a very short time: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LKOaNpXDcQk&
  19. I don't own too many consoles, but here's my current computer collection: https://plus.google.com/photos/101578793133198068189/albums/5556255186179707393
  20. I never heard SNES actually pronounced as SSSNEESSS until literally this past month. I'm a child of the 80s and early 90s and I can tell you nobody ever pronounced it out like that. Now NES was pronounced out by like 3 people maybe, but the vast majority called it N-E-S or just Nintendo. I always called it N-E-S and SNES was S-N-E-S.
  21. Amazing just how long the lifespan of this system was!
