  1. I'm definitely intrigued, but also confused. Put me down as Tron-curious, I guess...
  2. Oh, did I say the 8th? I meant the sexiest!
  3. I think you should celebrate by giving the 8th poster in this thread a free authographed copy of the Space Indvaders Collection!
  4. Lol, yeah... I hate those damn things
  5. This looks awesome! Can you add me to the pre-order list please?
  6. LOL... I used to have shelves and shelves of books, but now I'm down to about 1 and a half bookcases that actually contain books of any kind. The rest have been boxed up to make room for games, movies, and assorted weird Japanese monster crap
  7. It's much harder than the arcade version, which means you have to play it differently... you'll definitely spend a lot more time dodging enemy fire than you would in the original. The CV version is more "run-and-gun" than "sneaky stealth," I guess Personally, I really like the change, since it feels more like a remixed version of Elevator Action, but you may be disappointed if you're looking for an arcade-perfect conversion. If that doesn't bother you, then I think it's well worth picking up.
  8. Wow, that's an awesome deal, and the Vectrex is a great system! There aren't that many games for it, but many of the available titles have a ton of replay value... I go back to mine all the time for a quick game of Minestorm or Vectrexians. Speaking of which, there are a bunch of great homebrew releases out there, so make sure to seek them out!
  9. Hmm, I guess I gave more gameplay tips than actual impressions, lol... The game is spectacular, definitely one of the best CV games I've ever played... I can't believe how fast and smooth it runs! Plus, it has great opening and ending screens, always a welcome feature on the CV! I did have one small nitpick, in that it seemed to not want to shoot in mid-air while jumping to the left sometimes. Kind of a weird issue, but the situation almost never came up anyway Other than that, awesome, awesome, awesome!
  10. Just gave it another shot and managed to make it all the way through this time. You definitely want to have at least one life to waste on Stage 5, since farming hearts is next to impossible. Just climb like hell and shoot the ghosts(?) whenever they wander too close to you... there's a golden armor power-up about 3/4 of the way up that makes things a little easier. Luckily the final boss is pretty easy, as long as you're patient
  11. Bear in mind that I've only played once, so I'm not exactly an authority on boss strategies. However, I'd say you shouldn't be losing any lives on the bosses, since you'll probably need them for the hateful assault of stages 4 and 5 Stage 1 boss, I did more or less the same thing as you. Fire off a few shots, climb up to the top, drop back down and repeat. Dodge shots as needed. For stage 2, I just hang aound the middle set of ladders, climb up or down to the same level the boss is on, and just fire as fast as possible. Since you can destroy the boss's shots, you probably won't even get hit here. Stage 3, try to hang out near the left side of the screen. Fire 3-4 shots, then climb up or down to avoid the boss's shots. If you time it right, the first two shots should have gone straight towards where you were, while the third angles and misses you. He goes in order from top to bottom, so you'll know where you need to be. Stage 4, using the boomerang I just stood on the top platform and fired as fast as possible the whole time. Your shots destroy the boulder most of the time, so the boss should die before you as long as you're near full health when you start. Stage 5, ???
  12. Just got this today, and it's definitely an awesome game... but argh!!!!, level 5 is made of hate! So much random death raining down at hyper speed Is there a proper strategy for this stage, or do you just need to hoard your extra lives and power through it?
  13. Surprisingly fun game! I've spent more time playing my copy than I care to admit
  14. Mecha-8 looks awesome... reminds me a little bit of M.U.S.H.A., which can only be a good thing!
  15. Burger Time and a Half is hilarious And this project looks great! I've never really gotten on with Burgertime for some reason... I love playing it, but this is one of those games where my skills just never seem to improve past a certain plateau. I'm definitely still interested in picking this one up though, whatever you end up calling it!
  16. I picked up one of Chuck's modded SNES controllers for my Vectrex earlier this year, and it's AWESOME!!! I imagine the Genesis pad would be just as good As much as I love the original Vectrex controller, a modded gamepad is just soooo much more comfortable for long play sessions... highly recommended!
  17. Cool, I was under the impression that this was going to be a cart-only release... if a CIB version is going to be available, put me down for one please!
  18. People were actually able to buy extras to flip?? Universe, what have I done to displease you!?
  19. Sigh... I would say that I hate all of you lucky souls who are getting these super-secret games but it's too close to Christmas, so I'll just say "Congratulations." Plus, I'm sure you're all wonderful people in real life
  20. Congratulations... Gulkave is an awesome game, and the sales are well-deserved!
  21. Good stuff... the Inty definitely needs more puzzle games!
  22. KotM is excellent, but I think Spina is still my favorite... such a tragically underrated game, and the box art is just incredible. Out of curiosity, would Spina have been one of the earliest examples of the use of dynamic music in a game? The way it changes pitch according to your altitude is really cool, especially considering the original release date.
  23. Lol, I fear I may have wandered down a dark path here. Then again, if there are games to be had...
  24. Aha, flattery is the key? Because you are soooooooo sexy! On a completely unrelated topic, I will gladly buy games for money.
