SOLD!: Atari 2600 w/106 games, 2 storage centers
SteveVFX4 replied to SteveVFX4's topic in Buy, Sell, and Trade
^yes, not bad but when you consider all the fees, I'm only clearing around $115. I also tried to sell locally on craigslist for over a month, and only got one lowball offer of $70. -
Well, it finally sold as-is with the storage cases. As mentioned by others, I screwed up the shipping on the original auction and the default expensive Priority Mail option probably scared alot of bidders away, the bid only went up to $96 and didn't meet my reserve of $130. I decided to relist it with a reserve of $100 and I fixed the shipping options so that it defauted to the cheaper Parcel Post. In the closing minutes on the auction, it went up to $140 plus shipping. Overall, I'm happy with the price. eBay Auction -- Item Number: 180867132857 Thank you for your interest and for helping me out.

ok we'll see. Yeah, I screwed up the list of shipping options and I can't get rid of the PriorityMail default at this point. So I had to add a note to tell people to check out the different shipping options for a cheaper price/option, hopefully they see it.

thanks. I guess I don't need to sell it but would like to clear some room. But if it doesn't meet the reserve price, I think I will put it back away for another 5 or 10 years and try again.

(edit - SOLD on second relisting, see my post below) If you're interested, watch my auction here: eBay Auction -- Item Number: 180859988983 But I'm sure nobody from here will bid on it, since I've been trying to sell it in the Marketplace forum without receiving any offers. Reserve price is 130.

^$150 shipped would not be worth it to me, especially if the buyer was on the West Coast, it would cost over $65 to ship. East Coast appears to be $25-$40 to ship. I think $140 plus actual shipping cost would be fair for my entire lot? -
no they are all loose. I meant I just kept them nice in shoe boxes or other boxes and stored away for years. I think I have around 30 loose ones. I forget how much GI Joe I have, but I know the big piece I still have is the Cobra Terror Dome. Back to my Atari lot, I had a local email offer of $145 yesterday. I wrote back and haven't heard back since? Looks like I may just try Ebay.

Ok, I realize my price is still high. I'm open to offers, but I'm thinking I may just list it on Ebay this weekend starting a 1 cent and let the highest bidder determine what's it worth. -
Thanks. Yeah, I just don't think today/future gamers will appreciate the Atari for what it is and will think it's just too old of technology to have any fun with. I don't think I have any real rare games. My for sale is listed in the Marketplace forum and I did list all of my games. Shipping won't be cheap either for the entire lot given the size and weight of the box. I use this same name on Ebay with 100% positive feedback. Maybe I will just try an auction on ebay and let it ride! I'm 35. I also wonder when I should try to sell my other toys from my 80's childhood, like original Transformers figures and GI Joe, etc, most are in decent shape and have been boxed up for years. I have a Colecovision system too somewhere at my parents house.

I'm sure this gets asked alot but I had a hard time finding a similar post when searching the forum. I loved playing Atari as a kid but I'm no collector or gamer now. It has been boxed up for 15 or 20 years. I recently pulled it out to briefly play with it and to also try to sell it. I guess I'm being fairly unrealistic in my price by asking $200 for my common 4-switch wood model with 106 mostly common games, 69 game manuals, and 2 storage centers, because I've had limited interest thus far, even when I asked people to email me a reasonable offer. I have no problem with putting it back in the closet for another 20 years. The question is do you think it would actually be worth any more money by then? i'm guessing no. Maybe I'll just list it on Ebay for 1 cent and let the highest bidder determine what it's worth?

Just a heads up on these two games, the "rare" ones are the Sears picture label versions. The Atari brand picture labels are more like an R1-R2 Thanks, I will check my games later tonight and edit my post if necessary. -
I'm asking $150, plus shipping.........(SOLD for $140 plus shipping on Ebay). Here are the details: - Atari 2600 with woodgrain front console and original owner's manual, cable tv connector, aftermarket power plug - storage center with lid that holds the Atari system plus 15 games - storage center with lid that holds appoximately 42 games - 2 aftermarket joysticks - 2 paddle controllers (the sensitivity is off on one of them, it was shaky playing Kaboom) - 2 driving controllers in original box - 106 game cartridges (titles listed below, there are 3 duplicates, so 103 different games total) - instruction/owner's manuals for 69 different games, most in near mint condition - 19 various game catalogs, some duplicates and most in near mint condition - DC comics Atari Force mini-comic book I didn't test every single game.
