  1. Hi, From MY experience, so YMMV. I have defender for 2600, US version (60hz sent to the screen), and it works on my SCART Atari 7800. No color loss, no sync problem. Note that I have been able to play this 2600 cartdrige on a PAL 2600 jr with RF...
  2. Is there a possibility to have an explanation for this 3 letters-long post ? (And answering "NO" or "No" or "no" or "nO" is NOT an option)
  3. Hey, this is in my "to follow" list ! As I'm searching for a non-SCART Atari 7800 since a few days... Edit on the17th of July : Man, I can't believe how fast the price went up, I gave up...
  4. Ok, while playing with the cats, I had one of these " Bon Dieu ! Mais c'est… Bien sûr ! "moment when I remembered I had a look at the UK PSU for my SCART to HDMI upscaler. (whoever find the reference for this french sentence wins... errr... 1 Tunisian Dinar ?) So, after the little brats stopped playing and I gave them food, I tested and it works. It's a 5V 2A positive centered PSU
  5. I agree. I only want to be sure of what to use, 'cause I got mixed answers to this. 5V, OK, but the Amp ? on his description he says 2A, whereas 1.2 seems to be enough... Let's make it clear, I don't wanna fry this box...
  6. So, most my issues are solved. I changed the port on which it is plugged : no more white dots blinking on black background. I bought an overpriced VGA cable instead of my cheap one : no more blurry display. There's still the "bending" effect of the picture, in low and med res, but not in high. Not much of an issue in fact in most games.
  7. Hello Lucifershalo, I do have 2 double enders from Xonox for atari 2600: Ghost Manor/Spike's peak Artillery Duel/ (Kung Fu) Superkicks They are "loose" no box no manual. You can contact me here or on yaronet if you are interested (but these are quite common, AFAIK).
  8. Hi, I bought one of these (those from sandoubler.info), and I'm not completely satisfied with it as it is right now. (Atari STE, UK version, so with RF) It's not related to the hardware of the scan doubler, so if the creator comes here, guy, don't worry The output is somewhat blurry, there a strange effect around moving objects (like a bending of the picture), and I have little white dots blinking on the screen when i'm in 50hz output (OK in 60hz, strangely)... The VGA cable's ok, I tested it with a PC and it works. Well, it is useful anyway, but I'm kinda spoiled as I'm used to RGB output on Atari computers since my childhood... In any case, it'll be useful when TV manufacturers will stop providing us in France with SCART input on TVs My next step will be to try it on an Atari 7800 with SCART output. Do you think the joystick port of the 7800 can provide enough power for it ?
  9. Hi Groovybee, I have 2 and both of them do this (output to SCART) and I can confirm 2 other French guy from the Yaronet forum have this too. Maybe it's related to SCART output only... link --> http://www.yaronet.com/posts.php?sl=172&s=148858 (sorry, it's in French )
  10. As you may know, the PAL 7800 boots in Black&White for about the duration of the Atari logo on a NTSC system before showing colors. Could this be related to what you say above ? Some kind of check of the cartridge to determine if it's a NTSC or PAL one ? (NTSC 7800 carts are mostly OK on PAL systems as far as I know)
  11. Side note regarding Ultrasatan... Do you have 1 LED or 2 LED on the front panel of yours ? Mine only has 1 LED, so I do not have the "view" of data transferred between SD car 1 and 2... Which one is Zaxxon's version ? 1 or 2 LED ?
  12. OK, sorry, sorry, I said something stupid I still haven't finished browsing the whole AtariAge forums Is Asterix this known in the US that they released a game for it, whereas it's basically Taz with different sprites ?
  13. Hi, As far as I know, Asterix is a PAL(and SECAM)-only release. And not so rare at all. I doubt there was a NTSC version made as basically, they took the "Taz" game, and replaced the sprites with sprites related to Asterix (Roman helmets, Harp, etc...) Have a look on youtube with search terms Asterix Atari 2600 and Taz Atari 2600. Same game, different sprites
  14. Thanks Darkord, I had completely forget about this tool
  15. Hi, From my experiences with UltraSatan with STE/TOS 1.62, this kind of issue always comes from a hidden folder or hiden file. I'm using a macbook air as my main computer, with a SD card Reader. Every time you put something on the SD, MacOSX put its load of crap beside the files (hidden dot files, unix-style). So basically, if you want to delete or move a folder with one of those files, TOS 1.62 just stops or tells you "Cannot Delete Folder". For Macosx I found a tool called "Hidden Cleaner" to clean all of this unix-like filesystem crap.
  16. Hi all, I had various Atari St computers and had this kind of experience : 1040STF (NOT M, French version) : No ghost image, it was crisp. MEGA STE (without RF) : Very light ghost image, almost invisible, but interference from the floppy disk activity & PSU could be "seen" on the screen, like diagonal lines moving across the screen 520STE W/4mo RAM, UK one with RF output : Ghost image quite visible with certain colors shown on screen, and a little bit of interference from floppy on screen. All of them, connected using a SCART cable... (Sorry for Bad English, I'm French )
  17. Hi Jeff, I was wondering if the new "cased like an usual floppy disk drive" HxC would fit an Atari STE case (of course, the ST case would have to be modified just like it must be done to put a modified PC floppy drive...) ?
