No, not a huge deal at all. That set is obviously for a collector, not someone who just wants to have a telegames heavy sixer. I have a boxed Sears heavy with hex discs and it is one of my favorite pieces. Buyers are generally adults, and adults will spend what they are comfortable spending. Shouldn't bother anyone, but i understand that some might be bothered by that and respect that. I have had offers of $750 for it and someone did indeed buy it for the listed price about a month ago, then returned it because of an issue with one of the controllers. No issue though, i think perhaps he had some remorse over the price perhaps. Nonetheless, due to eBay policies i was out over $100 in shipping charges. Perhaps that makes you feel better? (Kidding)

My primary system is also a sears heavy. I had both a sears and atari heavy and I decided to keep the sears because I liked the way it looked.
Are you the nut who's had that thing for sale at that crazy price for so long? I wondered who that was. I don't recall earlier versions of that auction having sears hex discs are those legit or repros?
The Hex discs are real. Don't appreciate being called a name but if that's your thing then by all means, do your thing. The auction has been the same since it's inception, discs and all.

So I bought a sears heavy sixer in the box on ebay about eight months ago and I have some questions about the contents of the box. The controllers that came with the box appear to be cx-40's so I was wondering if any of the sears heavy sixer's came with cx-40's originally or if the controllers I got were replacements. I also didn't get target fun with the box so I was wondering if that came cart only or cib. I am missing the original power adapter and TV switch box so I doubt I would ever actually complete it, (the box is in fairly poor condition anyway) but I am still curious about it. What do you guys think about the sears heavy sixer? I personally love the silver control panel and simulated walnut wood grain. I honestly like the aesthetic better then the regular atari vcs. For $90+s&h in box I think it was well worth it.
Here is what it should have

Oh, and the scary thing in this case is that his normal bidding strategy is to bid very early and then wait until the very end to bid again. These multiple bids he is making lead me to believe that he is very serious about this auction. The seller will benefit big time but this could be an enormous overpay. Gonna grab a beer and watch the end of this one.

Is schoolgirl 878?
Yes, easy to spot because of all the underscores in the name. The eBay "code" is consistent so u always see an 's' at the beginning and an underscore at the end with schoolgirls' code name.

on eBay for me, 'math gran prix' yields junk, no boxed sears versions...
wouldn't have been easier to paste the link in.
My apologies, i'll get right on it

Just Purchased with Hex discs, thanks !
Congrats! Those are great finds. Enjoy.

Unfortunately still looking....

As alluded to in this thread here your search is over if you can pony up the high price. There is currently a Sears Math Gran Prix with box on eBay. Schoolgirl will run the price up but if you want it bad enough it can be all yours. Good luck!
-
the ebay auction link? I don't see it on eBay.
Put math gran prix in the search box, the seller did not put Sears or telegames in the title.
-
Yep. No reason to allow someone to improve their collection when there's a dime to be made.
What's even more amusing is that they didn't even realize it's a tough find until they saw it mentioned in a thread sometime back. Now they just have to have it.
Ultimately what schoolgirl does is schoolgirl's business. Having said that, i have experienced some shenanigans from her (pronounced "him") on two occasions. Both involved me winning bids on Xante carts. Having read on AA that he will sometimes try to contact sellers after bids are done and try to basically outbid you after the auction is over, I contacted both sellers and warned them of this practice. Both indeed told me she/he had contacted them and tried just that. Fortunately both sellers were honest and did not accept the after-bids. Not a fan, but if he wins the Math Gran Prix auction in the allotted time then he deserves the auction. Perhaps i will become interested in that auction myself, just to make things "fair"........

Yeah and it's not going to be cheap. It's not now. I was interested until a reseller jumped in and ran up the price.
Yes, i noticed that Schoolgirl is bidding....a lot.

H.E.R.O. Is about as good as it gets.

There is a Sears Math Gran Prix with box on eBay right now.

I sold Jeff a 400 shell for a restoration he was doing. Excellent AtariAger to deal with. Nice communication and very nice guy all the way around. Don't hesitate to ask me if you need anything else.

Yes, finding a cx-10 that is fully functional can be difficult. I have a box of maybe 40 of them in my garage that I intend to fix.........some day.

I would like to purchase a heavy sixer joystick in good condition. I'm not really sure what there worth, but I would be willing to pay $40-$75 depending on condition or quantity. Thanks!
$40 would be a typical eBay price. However, the one you have pictured has the very elusive hex disc sitting on top and for those you are looking at $100+ easily.

Bump update:
I've now acquired the "gatefold" Indy 500.
Now I'm just looking for Basic Math and Street Racer.
There is a Basic Math on eBay right now, but it aint cheap.

Looks like it went for $700. Likely would have gone for more had it been a normal eBay auction. The auction event format seems silly to me, but to each his own I guess.

Hello,
I´ve been talking to the author of the amazing Pacman for Channel F. As some of you might know he made a limited run of 50 carts a long time ago and since then he´s devoted to multicarts.
He said he would be willing to make a LIMITED SECOND RUN of about 15 carts. But he´d only commit to it if we gather enough interested people. We need AT LEAST TEN PEOPLE!
According to him a boxed game with high-quality printed paperwork would cost something between 70 and 120 USD. He will check final costs if we manage to grab an audience.
Anyone else in? I´m pretty interested but we need more people in this party.

Come on, Channel F collectors. That´s a rare opportunity!

I would be in

Excellent transaction and interaction with Mark. I could easily spend a few hours with him talking Atari over some beers. Thanks again for the purchase and i hope you enjoy the paddle controllers! Look forward to talking with you in the future.

This isn't my auction, but it's noteworthy enough that I feel it deserves its own mention.
http://www.auctionzip.com/auction-lot/lot_9044089873
It looks like an auction has shown up at one of those little local auction halls for a Xante Worm War 1 cartridge. Looks to be in pretty good condition, too. Online bidding is allowed, so have at it if anyone is interested. Note that the buyer's premium is highway robbery(20%), but it is what it is.
Also included in the lot is Quest for Quintana Roo (Sunrise ver.), Frankenstein's Monster, and Jawbreaker.
Had thought about bidding on that Xante cart but the seller sounds like a pain in the ass if you read the feedback. Buyer must arrange shipping through sellers chosen delivery method. Just ship the damn thing through usps/FedEx/UPS on your own initiative like, i don't know....EVERY other seller on eBay.

Got a dead or malfunctioning Atari 400 in good cosmetic shape? Or just the shell for one? I am in need of a 400 shell after a whoopsie during some recent restoration work.
PM me if you can help me out and we'll talk turkey!
I have a couple of nonworking 400's and would be happy to send you just the shell if you still need one. Let me know if interested and I will go in the attic and check on the condition of the shells.

If I come across a Basic Math I will let you know for sure. Have not seen one in a few months and the one that came across eBay most recently was a steal at $35 (They usually go from between $80-$100 in my experience). Are you also looking for the Big Box version of Indy 500?
Some pics of mine. I have two Combats because there are two different boxes for it. One has a slanted manual slit inside and the other has a straight slit. Yes, lame I know.......

You can count me in for two. I already have 1 i bought a while back and I have one of his Multi-carts. I am all about encouraging homebrew games, especially those done THIS well.
