  1. @SmileyDude - cheers holmes :D

I did try the 2600 programming thread - like using DASM & assmbler/c/c+ etc. I could not get on with it.

I did want to learn to programme for the lynx, but there seems a lack of support from a beginners point of view (even with all the programming sites out there etc)

If I knew there was someone to help or a very good beginners tutorial, sure I'd give it a go!!

I am also one of the front page express generation, so in my ignorance am not used to compiling my own code, but just editing it here & there ;)

  2. Thats good news - I know nothing about programming, else I'd love to have a crack at it - I can give you the links to the white papers if you don't want to register @ ericsson. This includes the T310/T610 mobile phone plus the java standards for that handset :D

  3. Any-one here programme java/j2me & considered porting any classic atari games for SonyEricsson mobile phones??

I would pay for breakout or any older classic atari game

I have played space invaders (which was brilliant on the nokia 7650) pong & asteriods. But to see some more classic atari games available would be brilliant.

see http://www.ericsson.com & goto the developers forum for a white paper if interested. I can host them on my wap site for downloads :D

  4.

    Rygar

     Great Run-through.

Very similar to the original, but levels seem to be very easy.

Graphics are good, pace is quick.

Havn't beaten it and levels seem a bit repetitive.

Don't want to spoil it for you, but ever played ghouls & ghosts???

The rygar ending is the very similar. At the end you have to fight a big lucifer. Ive only ever beaten him once. It's tough. :P

Gauntlet is another classic which I forgot to mention. The maze where the plants eat you at the end & spit you out is brilliant. :D

  5. Crystal Mines - Like some-one else who posted before I bought this on e-bay cos it was cheap as chips - It's great :!:

As addictive as when tetris first came out on the gamboy.

Very colourful & good gamplay. It is very repetitve, but it gets you thinking, as there are some very challenging levels - I've stll not completed it.

Sound is very basic, but you're to involved with the gamne to notice.

Ive had my lynx for years & have still not played every game (even on an emulator). From the one's in my colection, this rates near the top - you must get it :D

  6. @Randy - yeh hey - I followed your instructions (after 10mins trying to work out DOS prompts - I aint got a clue) & it worked - got a a.out file - whatever that is

I also now have test.bin & kernel.bin files - if I drop the kernel file onto the emualtor I get a black screen :!:

I'm no good at this :x

  7. I posted a reply in the contest thread. LOL nice Label! Also in MS PAINT if you select the object on the menu bar to your left, there is a group of shapes, click the second group of them, and I think that will allow you to paste a transparent object!

Thanks - I will try that - gotta get my head into programming now - Im off on safari :P

  8. SmileyDude wrote: lol, you've already got the hardest part of the project done -- choosing a name ;) Now you get to do the easy part -- learn 6502 assembly, learn the 2600 inside and out, and write your game... you have 24 hours to post up your binary :D

    All done:
