  1. it took 3 STRONG workers to lift this 2 feet off the ground! it's HEAVY AS HELL!! Um, That should break down into smaller but still heavy peices. If I looked at it correctly. The thing should basicly tear down like any other store display. I remeber seeing something like that in a toys r us store. Laters.....
  2. I noticed most computer rooms with games sytems and stuff look like a eletronics store from the 80's or 90's. I sortof want to do the same thing. But I'm limited to room. Laters....
  3. The first thing I remeber in the sears wishbook was nintendo. I had to share the catalog with my sister and we both highlighted what we wanted. This normally being the most expensive toy in the book. Plus the fact I told my sister nbody would want stinky over priced horses and stinky strawberry shortcake. Laters......

    Renting

In a town about 20 miles away from my parents lived after they moved. Was a appliance store. They sold Televisions and rented movies. I remeber going in their and seeing vhs, beta and laser discs. I remeber the store was at least half beta and half vhs. My parents purchased their first color tv their. Over the years the store turned into just an appliance store now is a rentel place. They use to repair televisions and stuff. Up until about 5 years ago they still had pictures on the glass showing beta/vhs/laserdisc and oneday when I drove by they was removing the sign to change it over the the rental place and you could still see the highlights of the old sign faded into the store. Betamax, vhs, laser disc and a few other things. laters.
  5. I was standing at a yard sale looking down at a box of a used atari 6 switcher system with wood grain. Came with both joysticks, manuals, games, paddles, driving paddles, and a price tag of 30.00. I talked them down. I should really think about the price. I might have talked them down to 30.00 from 50.00. Can't remeber the date right off the top. It is in another one of my posts. I did a little research to try to remeber the year and the price. The secound time was in sears drolling at the 2600 with one joystick and the 7800. For some reason I didn't think ball blazer was that hot. Pole Possition II on the other hand. Vrooommm. Laters.
  6. I have been to auctions before. Not a video game auction but never the less. Yea. You will get into it. Another thing to note it don't spend way to much time at one item during the preview. This seems to make people think it is worth something. Just kinda wonder around and look over things the same. Another thing is don't bid on it asap. Each auction is different and after the first few bids you will get the idea how the crowd is. I was at an auction once that nobody wanted to bid on a few items. Then whe somebody snapped out an offer then the bidding took off. So what I would do is just kinda make a simple offer. Even if they start out at a price of 100.00. Just mosey around for a sec. Then make a bid if somebody else did not already. Another thing to notice if somebody is making big bid asap. They shout out some over priced bid and seem to shy away other bidders. This can be good and bad at the same time. If you really, really want an item and not afraid to spend a certain amount. Their is no problem uping the amount. Yes, the auctioneer does this. But toward the end if you get tired of going up in small amounts. you can just say 500.00 or whatever you want. You can also check with the auction how to see if this is acceptable. Well that is my two cents. wish you luck Laters....
  7. I loved seeing the dead robs come in the thrift stores in peices. Broken arms and missing parts. Number 5 no disasemble. The ones that did come in whole or complete they wanted a pretty penny. I remeber rob when he first came out. Once again a device wasted by lack of games. The power pad follows in that ream. I remeebr alot of kids around me thinking the power pad was worthless do to lack of games. Laters....
  8. Mmmmm, I love model trains. I love them so, so much. I do think sometimes the price is a little much. I remeber back when I was a kid in the early 80's. I went to a swap meet in california and people was selling boxes of old trainsets from lionel. Some rust and some pretty good for about 10.00-35.00. Now it seems they want a premium price for them. Laters.
  9. NOTE TO ALL PEOPLE: We are not in the 60's,70's,80's anymore and getting the item before you paid for it is long DEAD. Thank You.....
  10. Talk about before my time. I had a old, old tape drive that had that type of connector. It looked almost like a regular cassette tape with some extra notches in it. I think it held like 10 megabytes total. The new scsi cards wouldn't even reconize it. laters.
  11. I asume with the time line of computer and most scsi hard drives if you cannot look it up on the net. SCSI or SCSI 1 is a 50 pin connector IDE is a 40 pin connector. Older scsi drives had two long terminators on the under side of the drive. ALso the scsi will probably have labeled ID1, 2, 3 and the IDE drive will have Master/Slave/CS - Cable Select. If it is a scsi 2 drive or newer models are a completly different connector than one that looks like a IDE 40 pin ribbon cable.
  12. I remeber running into my first mrs. pacman speed up. I always thought it was a dip switch. You know just like changing 3 ships two 4 or the point amount you get for an extra ship. But, to make a long story short. I hated it very, very, very much. Talk about another quarter sucker compaired to just sitting and playing for a few hours.
  13. Hmmm, if the shelves was included I could open up my own rental shop. LOL Laters.
  14. My wife helps out a little on ebay items. When I actually get around to selling something I beleive is not a peice of sh*t. I like to get everything ready before I even place the item on ebay. I decided not to do that once and the poor guy had to wait for a few weeks until I found the right size box to ship the item in. Even the stuff I sold for parts I packaged pretty well. No reason for a broken item to become more busted. I did slide a little on one ebay item but it was stated in the auction that because it was a phone system and would at least include two big boxes. That the phones would be shoved together in one big box. I did wrap them up in paper and made sure they was snug and had a small barrier around box. I even e-mailed the guy when he received the item to make sure bad happen. He was very pleased with the purchase. Laters....
  15. Use to have an older lady come into the computer store and ask for tapes. One day my boss got her instead of me and started showing her qic-80 tapes for tape backup drives. She got all confused. I took over and sold her the box of 3.1/2 disks. Then after words my boss was like. Why didn't you ever correct her. I'm like I did on several occasions and after a while just gave up. That wasn't the only person to call them tapes in my 7 years of computer sales/work. Laters......
  16. After a hard day work. Somebody kicked the pile or camera. Laters.
  17. I read about that. I keep wanting to win the lotto hopefully before all the good small towns are sold. FIrst thing I want to do is add a stop light if their isn't one to confuse the rednecks then go from their.
  18. After opening the box the controllers went on a munch needed break. INTVII LIVES Laters.
  19. I visited that paypalsucks site. Not much you can do though. Just follow the rules and pray for the best. I can't really beleive much into the stories because everybody has problems with at least something. Look at the different banks. I have had problems with a few of them and yet continue to bank because I really don't have much of a choice. In fact I have more of a choice not to use paypal. Please don't get me started on the banks. You can find my other posts about that. Laters.....
  20. I hold my Big Red with the litte white "BUTTON" on top with my hole hand and then sometimes depending on the game I'll touch if lightly and move it side to side. Oh, wait does a wico count? For my atari stick I prey it isn' stiff so I can control the game with different hand positions from a complete grip to a small grip just like the wico. Laters....
  21. Nothing wrong with laser disc games. Just all wrong for the time. Price of the cab, price of the game, and besides dragon layer. That was about it. I only played that one the most. The other one I just ignored. Remeber the cartoon? lol Laters....
  22. Once again I think this is one of those projects on the back burner. You know they say will release all this stuff for the system. Then when the system is close to the end of the life span they push the most finished products out the door instead of just killing it. I remeber talking to Nintendo about a modem for the NES. Then to talk to them later to find out they killed that project and put all effors into the SNES. I was wondering for a while if the only reason they didn't kill the hard drive project was because of the final fantisy game. Then again you also get a hard drive with the linux kit too. Laters......
  23. I'm looking for a genny mouse. Works with some of the sega cd games. I belive monkey island and night trap is a few of them. I'm sure one will show up at the local game shop for a good price. Laters.....
  24. I remeber the day I walked into a arcade and dropped in a dollar. Out came three quarters. I thought the machine was busted. Normally you would walk into the same place and get 4 quarters. Then I read the note on the machine. 3 quarters for one dollar. So from then on I didn't play the games or I already had quarters with me. But, if I brought the quarters I would play them all anyway. So I guess the person who losses out is me. I get one less game play for using their coin machine. Then again I also went less into that arcade after that. Now they are not even in business the last time I went down and checked. This is also the same place that went from one store portion in the mall to two store portions then back to one later on and now gone. Laters.......
  25. Nothing wrong with buttons or rusty. I played several hours of space invaders on a cocktail style version. In fact I wonder if the place still has it in the back. Unforchanetly it had a video problem and was not the monitor. Oh well, Laters.....
