  1. I have seen a few of these types of books at a university library. They are great to look at. I remeber one on sterio. As in HI FI quad sound sterio and another of super 8 film making listing all the new state of the art super 8 equiptment. Laters.....
  2. Nickel arcade in this area. Then you get nailed for the price of pizza and the soda at the snack bar. LOL Plus they have over more epensive games up to 1.00. Plus a wonderful collect the ticket games and get cheap prizes. If I ever win the lotto "Famouse Saying" I could picture myself opening up a nickel or quarter arcade in a old building downtown. Their is tons of places that haave mostly been gutted open. So a little work into a sturdy structure. Then load it up with games. Wouldn't be to hard to make a break even or profit in a few years. Laters..... oh and my soda would be 3.00 a can to make up for the nickel arcade. LOL j/K
  3. I forgot to mention as for the red label cart and silver label. I pretty much trashed and deleted anything I was working on at that time except for the original. Just because I could see no reason not to have them look original.
  4. One of these days I'm going to get off my lazy arse and design a different style cart. I was working on a newer red label template as well as an all silver one. I sortof have a blank cart template that can easily be modified in adobe photoshop. So without farther ado and thanks to southpark charactor creature. I present south park evil rock. Laters......
  5. Thirt stores price vary. It use to be really cheap for any game. Now they same to just go on and off. Sometimes you find a batch of games for 1.00 sometimes 3.00 a peice. I don't really care much. I do back away from say 5.00 and above for a game that is only worth 1.00 laters...
  6. Trip to mother in law and a stop at some old thrift stores near my home time provided me with this stuff. 1. Nintendo Zapper Orange 2.00 1. Super Mario / Duck Hunt 2.00 1. Skate or Die 2.00 For those who wonder a while back I picked up a NES. So I'm picking up stuff for it. 20th Century Fox Mega Force Loose. .50 cents Things I passed up was several front loading nintendo's, Sega Genesis, and even a Sega CD with Genesis for 20.00. But when you already have one and money is short. Laters.....
  7. Attached is an excel spread sheet. What started on and didn't even get close to finishing is a simple faq on prices, dates, systems, and wtf they included. It seems like everytimes somebody asks me a system question like price or when the sytem was released I don't know. The current one came up that the Sega Master system was cheaper than the nintendo system for a time. After some research. I found both systems was around 200.00 with same options. 8. To be honest I don't remeber. If I look at the game and it isn't one I really know about. I just end up forgetting the name. Laters.
  9. I don't get some of those prices. It costs about $60.00 for a replacement laser " I have not check recently" or they can get lucky and it just needed a small adjustment. I also found a place you can purchase that stupid ribbin cable from. But, I to face the problem. I ran into 2 play station 2's with disc read errors at a pawn shop. By the time I add a controller and try to fix them. I would be into it 30.00 for each unit, plus say 20.00 for a controller and if the laser is dead. Boom $60.00 for that. Now I'm so close to a new console. I could just go out and purchase one. Laters.....
  10. My wife informed me her dad was able to obtain a Sega Master System new at the time because her worked as a truck driver. They asked for a Nintendo but the Sega Master system was cheaper. I experainced sortof the same experiance when my friends dad trucked out of state and returned with a sega master system and a few games. I know the marketing was bad for the Master System. But to go out of the state and find a cheaper priced system. If it was better priced then I would think it would have caught on and people would find them no matter what. Once again your two cents. 11. I believe we touched on this before. In the small town I grew up in. Back in the day when Nintendo NES was big. Not only did the single video store / circle K have games. But, a few game shops opened up specificly to rent NES games. Then when the NES system was getting older and the SNES was released. The shops just sortof dried up. Except for the only Video store in town. Also the majority of rental games was NES and not even SNES or Sega. I remeber several kids explaining they have this system or that system and if they had this game or that game. Just to be told they only have NES, some SNES, and some Genesis carts. No 3d0, etc, etc, etc. You two cents. Laters......
  12. Went to the thrift stores with little money. Nabbed the following Sonic 2 NFR - $3.99 - this was something on my want list but not high up since I know of other places in town to get it and probably for cheaper. My goal is to purchase all of the sonic games for the genesis. 6 btn controller "by sega" for the genesis looks mint. No box though $1.99 Space Caveran from Apollo. Standard red label. I show I already have this one in my collection. So when I dig the other cart out and compare / test to make sure they both work. I'll put one up for trade. Don't ask me now Things I passed on. NES Advantage stick. You know the arcade stick for nintnedo. A front loader nintendo even though I probably wouldn't have picked it up. Two nes games one for the light gun. Neither of them sounded interesting. One nes light gun. Yes, I need one but only had so much money. Sega Saturn light gun but I don't have or want a saturn system. Plus a few other genesis carts and what not. Perhaps Mrs. Big Ferret should hit some of the savers / D.I for those items since we are in the same area. Laters.....
  13. First of all I can't really call it atari. Unless say it was like jaks 10 in 1 stick. I do get a good laugh every year when they publish that list and a good laugh to think parents swear by it. Poor kids I have to say. As for the parents they can spend the time reading a list and yet can't explain that a movie is just a movie. Laters.....
  14. Operation Wolf. I loved how you could just sit their and shoot things. Once in a while picking up clips and over items. Funny part is that after years of playing that game from my child hood. I didn't become violent and gun anybody down with an uzi. Laters........
  15. One time I purchased a car sterio from sears. Not even the model I really wanted but they was out of stock on the model I wanted. So I took it home and replaced my broken tape deck with the cd player and ended up with an extra wire from my truck. Wondering what this could be I took the meter out and it tested as a good ground. So I decided to hookup the negative wire from the sterio to the wire and the system worked great. Then on my way down the road I decided that maybe the wire was for the dash lights. So you can see the radio in the dark. Without giving it much thought I hit the parking lights to test this idea and fried the sterio. It also blew the fuse for the parking lights and messed up my parking break light. I then disconnected one wire, replaced the fuse, took the sterio back to Sears and explained the sterio didn't work out of the box. The guy puzzled explained he never had a problem with car sterio's but I insisted. They went ahead and gave me another unit. I normally don't like to return any items for whatever reason. I did in this case since it was Sears and I know I probably paid to much for the sterio in the first place just to be stuck with a dead one. Laters.....
  16. Ah, for what type of expansion port. I was thinking it would be nice to be able to hook it up to a computer via serial, usb, or whatever and say download roms from carts or upload a game if needed. Ah, the extra memory again. On another note. Could you make it plug into the top of my genesis 32x with another pass through slot? lol. Perhaps between the 32x and genesis? this would cover certain things like video and power supply. Laters......
  17. A fews years back right after I picked up my used SNES system I ran into a super scope. I put it on my sholder and couldn't get it to fit well and thought. What a peice of sh*t. Do they think everybody in the world is 5ft or a kid. So I passed it up without a problem. Laters......
  18. It is really up to the person who designed the unit. But, I always pictured a small console with cart slot and standard 9 pin joystick connector for traditional Atari joysticks. Then you have some built in game or at least a rom so when nothing is plugged in. It would boot up with a simple system check. Kinda nice for when the system gets old and your not sure if it works. One thing You might add is an expansion slot. This would leave it open to other devlopers and even addtional add ons. Laters......
  19. Hair dryer is okay. I used it before to remove price tags and even straigen out a crooked label. Somtimes the sticky stuff gets the best of you and the label still doesn't move. I guess a heat gun wouldn't be to bad. As long as you don't get it to hot. Laters....
  20. I hope the person who purchased them will give them a good home and repair. I can't say don't resell them but if that is required to make a few work they wtf not. Since I do it all the time. Sorry about your loss. I'm sure you would have gave them a good home. Laters.....
  21. I passed by to much stuff but when those atari carts starting hitting the thrift stores a few years back. I just started picking them up right and left. TO bad I didn't do that with a few other items. Like Apple comptuers and stuff. Now just a few years later thanks to mostly ebay. That stuff is selling for 3 times more than what it was priced at the thrift store. laters.....
  22. Enjoy tetris on the side? lol http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...&category=13716
  23. Yes. I saw those games the other night on ebay. I only ran into a two b/w games for sale in my lifetime at a thrift store. One worked and the other had a monitor problem. I decided not to pick them up since I didn't relaly care for the game play. I did notice both had sechmatics inside them. Got to love older eletronics. The big part Iw oudl worry about is the monitor. I had a friend I talked to that had an older monitor. Not one of the newer standard ones or still being produced. So he was looking at an arm & leg for a used one. He even took the time to contact the company who mfg the monitor just to be told it was a limited usage product. Later..
  24. Well if it is from my collection. It was treated with repesct compaired to something sitting in the corner collecting dust. However, Cons can have a feild day with that term.
  25. I have no problem with Ware House find. I would also put the condition of the item. Just because it was in a warehouse does not mean it is in good condition. I would prefer it to be in a nice heated warehouse than sitting in a unheated storage unit. As for the estate sale. I want to scream. For the people who have been to these sales. The person purchases a perfectly good item knowing they can turn it over for a fast buck. It gets me upset to see a ware cared for item go into the hands of somebody just to make a dollar. Don't get me wrong, I allow a few exceptions. You already have the item and you are replacing it with a better one. You sell the item to another valued collector to make money for your collection. Perhaps you traded it or it was purcahsed for a collector. These are all good examples of people I love to talk to. Oh, so you purchase that atari system. What you going to do with it? Oh, I'm going to take it home, clean it up, and put it in my nice collection. Oh, That is good. Compaired to how much you want to pay for it. Ahhhh. Laters......
