  1. You know what is sad. The mojority of those could have been games from the 80's. Later.......
  2. Up until Had my son. I have no idea what would happen with it. I can tell you my dad would throw it away. I would possibly make it to my younger brother. But since I have a son now and not knowning how much he likes video games. I hope he does get to see and know the collection. Old comptuers and eletronics started me in computers. So I hope it might do the same for him. Even if I go early. Later.....
  3. I was wondering about Leisure suit larry. I forgot all about that game until I went hunt on the net one day and really found nothing. Can't wait, with all the bad sexual content in games today. I can't wait for some old fashioned leasuring or pimping. LOL In simple terms: I'm not a sports game addict and adding woman with big items still will not make me purchase a game. Laters.......
  4. I never heard of such a thing from a normal crt television. I might see a problem with the new flat screen televisions. If you want to get ride of interferance you shouldn't use a switch box. Just one of those RCA to F type connectors. They eleminate most static. Laters......
  5. Well, I really only order stuff from ebay when I don't have any other choice. For instance say a local phone company is charging $100.00 for a handset and ebay is like $20.00. I figured with all the home improvement stores and tool people around sombody might know who I need to goto to pick a set up in person. Since the set can run 9.95 to 19.95 + S/H or even $7.00 for just one bit. My wife says she saw tons of those sets down in Arizona. Perhaps this is just an Idaho thing. But, I would like to support the local econemy sometimes. Later....
  6. I was wondering what local store or tool store would carry the Security hex set to open NES, Genesis and other game carts that require this silly item. I see them on ebay and figure it looks cheap enough if I could find a set at a local tool shop or place. It would be pretty cheap like 9.95 or 19.95. Thanks.....
  7. Left: Old style RF switch. To switch you from your outside Antenna to the game console. They still make these switch boxes but depending on the television and other factors. It can produce a really bad picture. Right: A/B F type switch box. This option allows you to switch from what ever you want to you television. A good example is my brother had a super nintendo. When he plugged it in-line with the cable company wire. The picture went all fuzzy and look really bad even when the unit was turned off. This box allows you to isolate each input. Between the Game Console and Switch Box: This little goodie is what everybody talks about. It is available at RS for a small price. It can connect directly to the back of some systems. For instance I have mine connected directly to the back of my Atari 7800. Then a standard 3ft RG59 cable to the back of my television. I get a perfectly clear picture. Other systems may require the removal or use of a slighly different connector. If anybody has information or pictures to add to this. Go right ahead. Pictures say a thousand words. Laters.......
  8. It is a shame about charges. I pray everytime I sell something on ebay everything goes okay. That if their is charges they are cheap. So I can slide on the side of error and still be on the good side. Technically since the guy messed it up. You are in the right to ask him for s/h again. But as a sign of good faith. Some businesses cut the difference. It has been a while since I have worked in retail. I remeber it really just depends on the s/h cost. We always tried to please the customers. later.....
  9. I was telling my wife how this is adding up and all at the same time. Since I have yet to purchase any of the units. Atari style joystick with games 24.99 - 19.99. Walmart is the cheaper place Activision Controller 19.99 Arcade joystick with some games 24.99 Let me know if I missed anything. Perahps their should be an faq done on this stuff so I can reference. I'm hoping this is not the last we see of retro 80's game devices. Does make me wonder where is the retro atari 7800 system with all 7800 games built in?????? I'm still looking for one of those great clones. You know the 256 in one. That is one of those things I saw in person and should of picked it up when I saw it. Laters...
  10. This game I picked up a while ago. The label is faded and it needed a good Q-TIP cleaning. THe game booted up and looked great for artwork and sound track. Then it gets you all sick when you run around. So now I started working that one brain cell. I was trying to remeber if I seen anything about the game. Something came into my head. That it was a game that was supose to change the game word with great graphics and music. Then if failed big time or it could just be a kid game. Can somebody help me? Thanks......
  11. I read the part were you could use an atari 2600 power supply. So I did the 1/8" sterio mod. It seems to work just fine. Color and all... Am I crazy? laters.....
  12. Got to love yard sales. Congrads on the score. Later
  13. This has to be one of my big rants. If you want to hookup one game system then no problem. But what is you have three or more. My television only supports two AV "Shared inputs" and one Component input. So up until now I put the video games to one side and connected the dvd to my sterio and Component input. My vcr, laser disc, and Satellite system go through a sima 4 port switch box. The switch box is connected to the back of the TV. Now the last remaining port on the tv is shared with the back. So this leaves me with one open port on the back of the sima switch box. The horrors I tell you. So when I finally found a pre-built unit that actually fit my sega genesis II with sega cd 2nd version. I was thrilled. Now for the break down. 1. Yaffa cube closet storage unit. Looks like plastic milk crates stracked 4 high but interlocking. $15.00 1. Plastic drawer to fit Yaffa Cube. $5.00 1. Cheap 4 port av switch "Real Peice compaired to the sima" $19.99 1. Surge strip that can support those awfull power transfomers. $6.00 1. Wire snack/modeling to make wires nice and neat. $5.00 1. pack of plastic ties. $2.50 Total: $53.49 Now, the setup looks nice and I hope to get a picture. I can add more Yaffa cubes if I want. But geez, $53.49 Who can I bill to explain old game systems are not outdated. My brother pointed out instead of Super Nintendo, Nintendo, and Sega Genesis. It should be Xbox, Gamecube, and PS/2. Honestly, I can see the PS/2 replacing the Nintendo. But this still does not include my Sega Master system and Atari 7800. So once again Argh. So why did I do all of this and not leave some kind of cheap setup. Well my 7 month old son decided to pull on wires. So all of this was not in vane. If you have any horros about costs just to support a simple game system. I encourage you to share them. I know you people have talked about how great your stuff looks. Yea, Mine looks great too. But at $53.00. Ouch is a good way to describe it. Laters.......
  14. I'm thinking they will probably just recycle it. I would be nice for them to hack it up and move it to another spot. It was nice for them to already do a report on the property though. Later......
  15. Only if somebody dresses up as a PS/2 so I can dump water on them with my joystick costume. J/K Don't have a coustume. My son to young to go TT will be a tiger this year. Laters.....
  16. Everything is marketing. I was just reading the other day about reading rainbow and how they are having trouble with funding. That they might even pull the show since they only did like three new episodes this season. The main reason is the show doesn't have products behind it. Unlike Dora the Explorer, Blues Clues, etc, etc, etc. On another note. Why can't they make a sterio with some nice right/left VU meters. I loved watching the things show power even if they was just for show. I also loved the signal strengh meter too. Not those new singal meters that seem to follow the music and eq and not the power output. In fact a nice set of 6 vu meters. 2 for the front speakers, 2 for the rear surround sound, 1 for the bass and the other for center channel. Then at least you could monitor stuff. I played a few movies and the surround sound sucked out the rear. Thinking it was broken, I played another movie and it worked just fine. Seemed I needed maybe doubly digital instead or pro logic. 17. I came up with this idea of generic wall panels. Basicly fire risitant platic light weight panels about 6ft high with snap in or clip in add ons. They mostly would look like generic tng, voyager panesl. Then you can clip int he smoke glass, lights and stuff or you could leave it out and paint it different colors. So if you want something other than star trek but a furturistic look. You can still use the panels. The would come in a few versions. I was thinking of a printed wall paper. But then I'm thinking you have a blank wall. You can put these panels up. Sortof like a vinyl siding for the side of the house. This would be a plastic or equiv. sheets of stuff. Later...
  18. I tried to give an example and realized I was heading in a different direction than the original idea of the post. So I wanted to make sure by adding the last sentence to make it clear. Later....
  19. Nope, not game stop. Just a small business. In fact if I had hte money their is another game store. More comptuer store though I would sink my money into in a heart beat. It is basicly 20 miles from this other store and well. I don't see why we couldn't work in tandom. Anyway long story short. I think I would make a killing. Laters.....
  20. Yes, they carry used saturn cd and even had a used saturn unit. They wanted 35.00 for the unit. Inlcuded 2 controllers and cords. No games. Games varied in price. Average price was $10.00. Same goes for the sega cd games. I'll be purchasing a few of those up when If ever I get the cash. INteresting note. The nintendo 64 at the same place is listed at 30.00 LOL. Ofcourse, they have a pile of them. They also carry replacement nes 72 pin connectors. Mrs. Big ferret can fill you in on the rest. I purchased a light gun for my sega cd finally the other day for 5.00. One of the blue ones. Konami I believe. Oh and on the sega cd. I was thinking about it. I believe it was CD+G for karoke it would also support. But don't hold it to me. Later.....
  21. Yes, if you don't put a cart in and you don't put a sega cd in. It will allow you to press start and bring up an audio player. If you put a music cd in it. It would just automaticly bring up the cd player. It also plays another type of disc too. But I forget what the format is. I did wonder why they came out with a saturn when I found a sega cd 32x title though. Unforchanetly, I didn't have any money to pick up the game. Yes, the ram cart is correct. I'm still looking for one. My wife plays shinning force and I like to play sonic cd and well you can't play both. I'm to cheap to purchase one from ebay yet. So I keep checking the local game stores. If you look at other posts and faqs. They explain everything in detail including release dates. The faqs seemed to make the most sense to me. Later.......
  22. Yes, good retro wood designed stuff works well with anything. Well in my opion. Black. LOL. But I have a wood grain record player with black top and a reel to reel with wood grain case and gray front with black knobs, and partial black on the face plate. Fits right into all my black sterio equiptment. But then you come to the silver 7 disc dvd my wife purchased and it is like. WTF is that eye sore doing there.
  23. I can't wait to get three combat or pacman or Et. Later.......
  24. Barbies, Teenage Mutaint Ninja Turtles, and $99.00 Nintendo system. You know I loved the 80's. But, do I really need to live through it again. Have we stopped creating good stuff? I admit I like some of the retro stuff but now I seem to find it a headache. For intance the gray sterio systems. I read this is a retro 80's style and it is in. Well okay suckers. Where are the analog guages? Why am I looking at radios that looks like European sport car guages? Come on get it right. I think sony got it right with the Ps/2 Simple design with black case. It going to look good next to the rest of my audio components. I know we have covered some of this before. Wood grain compaired to silver or black face plate. Is their anything else from the 80's you would like to see of have seen and thinks it sucks?
  25. Plastic Cases: 1. Good game label on most games I find 2. Instruction Manuals 3. Additional Goodies 4. Keeps plastic inserted label in nice condition 5. Store well on shelves Box Games: 1. Box can get damaged pretty easily 2. You are stuck with the name of the game and picture on the box 3. Doesn't hold well when weight is accidently shifted onto the box 4. Need I go on. Beleive me. When I see a stack of used plastic containers for Sega, Nes, Snes. I try to pick up what I need. To cover my loose carts. They come in so handy. Laters....
