Old electronic stuff is interesting. When it comes to interference you can have a ball. At least they are aware of the problem and it is great they wil offer you a refund. As for adjustment, yes it could be. If you find out what to adjust make sure you mark it. Just in case you need to change it back. I was wondering if tinfoil around the cart/board (Be sure not to ground anything out) would sheild it. Perhaps somebody has a better idea. I asume the metal sheilds they are talking about go around the rom itself. You could find one but make sure it doesn't ground out on anything. Later, Josh

Well yard sales in the U.S. seem to be drying up like the thrift stores. So just about any place you can think of that won't charge you an arm and a leg is a good start. I have found a few good deals on Non-Atari stuff in pawn shops. Anyway, welcome to AA, no we are the other AA. Later, Josh

When I picked up the Atari many years ago in the 80's from a yard sale. I was blessed. It came with indy 500 and driving paddles. That did lead me to the question of what else the driving paddles was used on. Basicly Nothing. I guess at one time they had great plans for the driving and sport paddles. Later, Josh

Not that I really need this information. But, just in case the laser eye dies. I can find a replacement item. From what I can tell the unit used two cd units. A sony drive or a philips drive. I also know the unit is 1x. Just for reference I have the secound cd-rom drive. YOu know the one that has the flip lid and loads on the side instead of the bottom. I also read about a fuse and power adaptor problems. That is always a given on any dead unit. Later, Josh

Well, the one side I played was chuck norris. Don't remeber the other side. I believe some of those game are in seperate carts as well instead of a double ender. Later, Josh

I just tried one of those xenox carts the other day in my 7800. It was a really, really tight fit. Don't think I'll try it again in the 7800. But I did get it in enough to work just fine. Later, Josh

Perhaps the U.S. to a point should say. If you want to make that product. We have everything here in the U.S. to make it. So you cannot import them. Ofcourse, this would be in reason. Then again, I tried a few made in U.S.A. mother boards (Yes actually in the states, Not off shore) and they all died asap. Later, Josh

Actually, I ran across an article about the ps/2 and linux kit. A research facility put together a cluster of them. The reason they picked the ps/2 was because of the official linux kit. They also explained they was not interested in the processor but more the graphics processor. Saying the graphics processor is only partialy tapped right now. So now they can run some pretty good graphic simulations on it. Once again I don't have the article/website. I do remeber it was also featured on TechTv Tech live show. Had like 300 ps/2 connected together. Later, Josh

For two days in a row I decided to play a few Sega Master system games. So I hooked up my Genesis 1 and played Paper Boy / Wonder Boy without a problem. So the next day I plug in Hang On / Safari Hunt Combo cart and Rastan. The Hang on Resets after showing a funky screen color and garbage. The Rastan goes to bad sound. So I cleaned the contacts on the Hang on combo cart and no help. So I decided to try paper boy again. No problem. Also since this is a system I don't use that much. I decided to try a regular genesis cart. Once again no problem. I was wondering if anybody had a simular problem. I did check a few posts to make sure tha games was not on the list. I might have to plug in the Master System to try the carts in that and see what luck I have. Oh, and the power base converter looks new for both edges contact top and bottom. Later, Josh

Now if I could just fine somebody crazy enough to built one. Take a electric control car and put a dead atari case on it. So it looks like the console is just driving around. I guess you could do the same with a Joystick. Would look kinda funny. Hmmm, Atari on the Go? Later, Josh

I not only look at old magazines and laugh. But, I also have old computer books. From 1983 and laugh at how they talk about business and home user systems. I have one book that only has about one chapter of actuall technical stuff. The rest talks doesn't even talk about computer stuff. It seems to talk about morals. Plus I like how they treat the person. Like they are a Idiot. I can't say much though. When I got into computer even back in 92. We had people come in and ask why they needed to have windows or what is a motherboard. Even how to turn on the computer. So I can't say these books was wrong. Just not very helpfull in some cases Later, Josh

I found a website with the correct scans and a follow up. I copied the scans to my computer. I have no idea where they are at. I think they are on a backup cd of mine. I'll look for them this weekend if I have time. One of the things that was needed was a rom chip. The rom chip was still available. To bad I don't have the website. You know I think it was atarihq.com though. Not sure. To make sure what you are talking about. You download the 2600 cart down to a audio tape. Then turn around and load it backup into memory (On the board you built). So you can play the game on the 2600 system. Later, Josh -

ussexplorer replied to ussexplorer's topic in Modern Console Discussion
Once again I hit the wrong button. Does bring up a good point though. I was looking at a new Joystick 5 in one game. Another kind user posted when game stop showed the release date. As I indicated above. The last time I looked at a release date. They keeped pushing it back. ANybody have problems with other places with release dates? Later, Josh -

POLL: How many times have you been burned/screwed on eBay?
ussexplorer replied to MrRetroGamer's topic in Auction Central
I sold an early pioneer laser disc player. The door stuck and the unit was not in great shape. I was basicly unloading it for parts. Started the bid out at like $10.00 or something since I was listing it as parts. The bidder never sent a payment. I sent 3 e-mails asking what there address and how they wanted it shipped. I got nothing. So I relisted the item and it went for like $20.00 with a seller who was happy with the purchase. I love putting pictures up and giving a really good description of the item. After searching through ebay and thinking to myself. If I purchased a 7800 system new back in say 84 or mostly 86. Would I tend to purchase New 2600 games or more 7800 games. I myself cannot answer this question since I didn't get a chance to purchase a new 7800 system. I can just tell you I already had a nice collection of 2600 games when I picked up the used 7800 system. Later, Josh

The One With Sonic on It.

From what I read. The first most problem is size. This eliminates the size problem with foreign carts and at times that is all that is needed. Then we go from their. The site I ran into the guy figured out what codes to enter on SOME carts to make them think they are in a foreign unit. Another problem is a 50/60hz check. There was a modification for that to. But, I'm not really interested in playing foreign games. Just nice to know if I ever run into one. I can at least try it via the game genie. Later, Josh
