Game Genie Sega Genesis I finally picked up a Game Genie for the Sega Genesis. I will continue to look for information on this device. But, I figured some of you guys/gals could help 1. Cannot be played on Genesis III 2. Cannot be used with 32x Adaptor? (Seems to come up but I have no codes) 3. Seems to work fine on top of the 32x adaptor (32x cart passes through just fine) 4. Cannot be used with Sega Cd. 5. Can be used for import games 6. I remember something about using whiteout on a pin for some reason. 7. How many books were released? (I got the original plus one small update guide) 8. Can it be used with the 6 in 1 cart? (I have yet to try) 9. Is this the version that trashed games or was that just a rumor? Later, Josh

Well, I already posted my experiance. But, I might as well again. I didn't get an nintendo until 87 or some crazy thing like that. I remeber the system being released. Then like 2 years later I got one with super mario and duckhunt. The reason I had the Atari was because I picked it up used from a yard sale. My parents didn't have much money. So when I asked for a few more games. They was like we just got you that system 3 months ago. Later, Josh

I was decided to watch the other hummer comercials. I noticed one for girls. It said Threaten Men. I think it is more like I need to get the out of your way because you need to get back into your lane and not drive the hummer down the middle of the road lady. On another note. I did see a guy manage to take up 4 parking spots with one. Later, Josh

Sega Power Base Adapter question
ussexplorer replied to WaverBoy's topic in Classic Console Discussion
Did you try it under the 32X? Might work better that way. --Zero The reason for trying it on top of the 32x adaptor was because I only had an Sega Genesis 2 at the time. Later, Josh -
That message was for: Phosphor Dot Fossils and his pile of stuff. Later, Josh

Nice Radio Shack Reverb. What no reel to reel? I see a nice mixure that needs to be cleaned too. You do video editing and stuff or do you just collect piles of electronic sh*t. Hmm, I call my stuff sh*t too. Just so much stuff you know. Later, Josh

I ran into a can cleaner that allowed you to spray boards with. Suspose to clean contacts as well. The stuff dries almost asap. But, It has been a few years since I owned a can of that stuff and cannot remeber the name. Does radio shack sell anything like that? Later, Josh

I have over 100 different carts and was doing good until I found this website. The funny part is. The last section of carts I picked up. Majority was pretty rare. Funny, to goto different thrift stores in different areas and see the different games people purchased as well as the amount of games. For instance you run into a 2600 with like 30 games, all the accessories, game holder, and stuff like that. Then all the 30 carts are common. Then you go to another area and find one game system with 5 games. Another area produces all rare games. I'm talking several number 5 listings. Perhaps another area had tons of activision games. I find the same thing with computers. One place has tons of pc, another apples, another commadores, etc, etc. Normally their is an explination. Oh, the local computer dealer was Apple/Macintosh only. When I picked up a dead genesis. I picked up one of those command sticks. have yet to really try it. Thought the large knob was a little strange. Later, Josh -
I was going to take a picture of what I got with me. But, even if I had all my marbles. I wouldn't even come close. So this is my list of things that passed though my heard. 1. You guys suck 2. I wish I had that much stuff 3. I don't even have that much house space 4. You guys suck 5. Got to purchase some more stuff. 6. Drool, Oh, Yea, Drool. 7. You guys suck 8. I can hold back from crying on how great those pictures look This goes on for a while. Later, Josh Great Bunch of Collections. I hope my can be that way some day.

To sum this up. I didn't even realize the two systems was even related. I read the name and realized yea, they will run the same stuff. One was big and ugly. The other looked nice and new. The carts was always nice and small. I can understand some one who wants the brown and gold system (Yea for retro stuff). But, I think my atari wood grain system looks much better than the gold/brown Intellivision. I got a Intellivision II that looks great. To bad the speech adaptor is the original one. But, I can't complain. Came all in one unit. What game system do you think look ugly or great? Later, Josh

Sega Power Base Adapter question
ussexplorer replied to WaverBoy's topic in Classic Console Discussion
I read the 3d glasses don't work with the power base. I guess the website I ran into was wrong. Can't remeber if I got around to plugging them into a power base yet. I just use them on the Sega Master System itself. Later, Josh -
Sega should have not sold the saturn
ussexplorer replied to ussexplorer's topic in Modern Console Discussion
We should make a list of what was the pro and con of sega saturn compaired to Sega genesis, Play Station, and Nintendo Super nes? or 64. Plus any other game system out at the time. 1. Cost was to high for sega consoles 2. They killed support for the 32x/Sega cd 3. Nintendo didn't have enough power to compete until the 64 4. sega had better games in japan. But, wait. most systems seem to have better games across the see's. etc, etc, etc. later, Josh -
How long have you gone without buying on ebay?
ussexplorer replied to video game addict's topic in Auction Central
Well, when I moved. I was without internet access for over a year. I sell and purchase items. Just this month I purchased a item for a phone system for a good deal. I try not to go over $20.00 but have my eye on a few goodies like a lcd projector. Later, Josh -
Sega Power Base Adapter question
ussexplorer replied to WaverBoy's topic in Classic Console Discussion
My power base converter game in a box but the screw was missing. It works just fine. Fit snug on the genesis. Keep in mind you need the original Genesis or genesis I. It is possible to play the power base converter on the genesis II if you pull the board out of the case. I read in england their was a power base II? that would allow you to plug it into the Genesis II. The genesis 3 does not work with the power base. As for games. I read two games needed to have the original Master System controller. I have not ran into these games yet. So I couldn't tell you if that is true or not. I asume it is. Also it will not work on top of the 32x adaptor. I tried. Thought it would be cool since it did fit. So I had to search around for a genesis one. Later, Josh -
Well if non of the carts melted and the whole box or games are the right price. Not worth picking up a few you want. I seem to clean stickers off using a hair dryer. I remeber getting one case so hot. I burned myself and the game worked just fine. Later, Josh

Sega should have not sold the saturn
ussexplorer replied to ussexplorer's topic in Modern Console Discussion
I remeber walking into store one day and looking at saturn close out. I was really looking to snag a cdx on close out. When I got the cash ready. All they had left was the saturn. So I asked if the system was backward compatible. Since they had tons and tons of sega genesis games left. They said no and I didn't think it was worth the $99.00 for close out price. The cdx was going for $89.00. I'm not exactly sure of the close out price. I just remeber they was in a few dollars of each other. So if sega didn't have the 32x add-on (I didn't even remeber it exhisted until I ran into a used on years later) and the sega cd (Thought it was cooler than freak when I saw it at a friends house. I wanted both the genesis and cd. Freak Nintendo.) that is fine. But then why the freak did they not make the saturn genesis compatible or at least some add-on? As for the price of the system. I could picture Sega coughing out the same or slighlty lower price to compete with the Playstation. later, Josh -
I know this has been brought up many times. I remeber standing in a store looking at the saturn and screaming over the price tag. Just to find out it wouldn't even place sega cd or genesis carts. Once again we already know this. So if sega pushed the saturn back a few years and concentrated on the 32x cd games. Then release a 64 bit Saturn. I beleive they would have done better. They could even come out with a cheap all in one console sortof like the cdx with 32x built in. Then push the 65 bit system with a nice 32x add on to make it backward compatible. I still think Sega should make a game system for 100.00 to replace older saturn/segacd/master systems. It wouldn't be to hard and the parts would be cheap. Later, Josh

The only problem with radioshack is the 1/8" mono jack I got is not shielded. So when I pluged the 2600 power supply in the first time I noticed it sparked when it touched the +/- together. So I noted to myself to plug the adaptor into the system before the wall. Works just fine and my 7800 works great. later, Josh

I got a few banged up sega cd discs. How much would it cost for me to wonder over to the boise mall/software etc and get them done? I asume they look like new afterwords? Later, Josh

What is this refurb machine? I asume it puts a coat of something on the disc? Later, Josh

GameCube ISOs are starting to appear
ussexplorer replied to TheSmirk's topic in Modern Console Discussion
I read an article a while back that one reason Nintendo took so long to goto a disc based system was they didn't want their games copied. Like the Playstation. I myself was wondering how long a game cube game would be copied now that 3" dvd are out on the market. Playstation was pirated when it got really big. Nintendo nobody really cares about XBox Runs on a standard pc so why not. Everybody knows about pc stuff. Later, Josh -
I have big hands, with big fingers. All of the Gameboy units are to small for me. That is why I like the gamegear. I can actually handle it. I have the same complaint about notebook keyboards. Later, Josh

Tech Tv showed one of these disc doctors. They was like only use it on a disc that you know for sure is messed up. I'm thinking yea. As for bad discs. I purchased a kit from radio shack, cleaner/polisher. Seemed to fix the discs I had problems with. Somebody at one time suguested the stuff they use to fix rock chips in windsheilds. So I guess it just depends. If you can get ride of the scratch or if you need to grind it down to make it even so the laser can read it. The one thing I was surprised at is the radio shack cleaner looked like it left the scratch. But when you look at it. You can tell it is filled. Would have been nice to fix it and see no scratch. later, Josh

When I moved up to my new place we lived in a kitchenet for a while. While trying to find a house to rent/lease/purchase. So we was given a 1979 19" Admiral color television. My wife didn't like it since some of the new movies in the vcr would make the picture role. Before that I would have to say the Curtis Matis (forgive spelling). Parent purchased that new. Don't remeber the year. Sometimes early 1980s to watch PBS of all things. Before that was a used 9" b/w television my mom said she had for 15 years nice printing of SOLID STATE on the front. Besides that we just purchased a new 27" television to replace the 2 year old 19" tv. I myself still living at home purchase a 13" color television. Later I pawned that for some money along with the vcr. Best item I ever purchased was a 20" timm. This unit was mfg. by Toshiba. VGA monitor, tv, and video monitor with svideo on it. Something new for the time. Nice $450.00 and that was at a discount from the store I worked at. later, Josh
