Wondering through the store of used and abused items I came upon a great little item. In fact it was a pair of items with a great price. Oh, and how big they appear to be so bright and red. I picked them up with a big old smile and hauled them to the front. The cashier gave me a dirty look as I paid her and ran out the door. I couldn’t wait to plug these suckers in and enjoy the experience over and over again. When I got home I ran into the bathroom and grabbed the alcohol and pads. I cleaned the sucker up and plug it in. It gave me a big buzz and felt so great, and then my wife came in. I looked at her and told her to join in. She just smiled and said maybe later tonight when the time is right I’ll master that stick in the wind. God Bless Wico Sticks!

I believe a few years back I chucked a few Pal games. Thinking they was broken. It was a shame too since I remeber having a few on the list and thought they were not working. Basicly the different colors. So the next time I find a cart that is strange in colors and works. I'll be sure to check to see if it is a pal game first. Once again Laters, Josh

A few years back I printed off a list. To keep track of games that I already owned. Got tired of bringing home games I thought I didn't have. Now, ofcourse the list is outdated. But, I enjoy crossing off carts I add to my collection. I really enjoy filling up a company. You know one that mfg like three games and you have all three. Kool-Aid Man.... Am I missing something, or what??

I remeber reading the pacman manual and thinking cool. Then plugged the game in. What I could never understand is how something like crystal castles looked so good compaired to pacman. It was like playing it on a different game system. I keeped having to look down at the Atari and the Crystal Castles cart to make sure I wasn't playing the Nintendo or something. Laters, Josh -
I'll check mate that people pushing out of the way to being yelled at for picking up an item on a shelf. Hey! I had that item first. So I would put the item down and yelp in a small voice. Probably couldn't make any money off of it anyway. That really works when my wife is with me and we startup the old. Even if I cleaned it up and fixed it story. I would still not get any money for it. If I got lucky. The item was put back in the same place for me to swing back around a couple of isle's and pick it up. Now shopping carts brought out full of stuff to be put on shelves are the same way. Unless, you and several other people saw them just bring it out and you know the guy is lying. Laters, Josh

Quarter Suckers: After Burner II falls under this. Sure the game lets you get into a few levels. False sense of security. Then before you know it. You just chucked $4.00 in quarters. First game I ever remeber you died in a bonus level. Sucky Games: The games that look like all others and when you play them. You wonder why you even bothered. Can you say Golden Axe & Simpsons. (Bad example but first games that came to mind. You basicly walk around hitting things with one or mutiple players) Perhaps the game you wanted to play was full of people waiting. Perhaps it was a new game. Perhaps it was .50 cents and you figured it was something special. In any case you are not touching that game again. I hope I got the idea across. Let me know your experience. What game pissed you off. Perhaps you spent to much for game play. Laters, Josh

I have been in the group of people waiting for a thrift store to open. Guess it was just the wrong day to show up. I was told it was even worse in Utah for some places. I have yet to find that problem up in Boise yet. I also noticed that pay days on Thursday and Fridays seem to be bad to. Also I always remeber people picking up junk or I mean stuff and saying they can sell it for money. That the item is worth something. While, I'm thinking I have 25 of those at home. laters, Josh

After looking other both message and the one website. I have seen a few of those joysticks. I myself only picked up a few different type to help my game play. Number one on my list is the arcade style controllers. I did pick up a set of those Butt-Plug Joysticks from wico. Just because the was a set and looked nice. Laters, Josh

I have found my answer so now the task begins to find a cheap/small system.

I now know what I'm looking for in a system. Between this group and talking to a few others. Now I just got to wait until a Machine shows up for a good price in the local area. My Goals: 1. If not Jamma (Convert to Jamma) 2. Neo Geo PCB Board 3. Multi Select for different PCB 4. Computer Jamma Hookup 5. SVGA monitor to Jamma (Since most units I find Have dead or going monitors) That is about it. Thanks for the help, If anybody has any Additional information about a single CHEAP unit in the Boise/Nampa/Caldwell Idaho Area, that would be great or just information in other ideas. Laters, Josh

Remeber the end of super mario brothers. Then After you run through it the next time it was a tad different. After that you just keep going. Talk about a waste of time. Laters, Josh -
I remeber looking up this game cabinet and finding out it was not Jamma. I could be full of it. I then read I can convert certain cabinets to Jamma. I have not how ever found any information about converting 1942 to Jamma. Can somebody please help me out. These games seems to still show up at thrift stores once in a while. So Honestly that is my best chance. Thanks, Josh

I was talking to one of the guys at work about jamma and remebered running across a wiring/board that would allow you to run like three seperate jamma boards in one Cabinet. I even remeber playing them in the arcade. They just took and old Cab and put a few extra buttons in it. Then mouted the boards. Slapped stickers on the side and you could just press a button to select though the three games. One of the other options beside Neo Geo and Pick 10. Yes, If I got a pick 10 system or a game she liked. Then I'm sure it would be eaiser. Laters, Josh

No, I have not run across a neo geo or pick 10. If I did I would defently have it. Josh

She love the Sega Genesis and she known about my Atari collection. But she draws the line at arcade games. So I told her I would limit it to one game. So I have the hard task of finding a cheap local game and decided to either have a Play Pick 10 by Nintendo or a Neo Geo System. It is funny how these games was going for nothing years ago. Most was just make offer or hall off. Now, they are big bucks. But I might still get lucky. I found a few games in thrift stores. Nothing for me to jump at yet and really, really insist on it. As for upstairs / downstairs. Her brother is living with us and we are tying to keep the other room open for a guest room. Yea, Right. I have a small area but that only has room for my many computers. Luckly the consoles units go upstairs since she likes playing them. One final note, she knows I cannot part with money unless, I really want it. So I hope it is more the question of when I find one more than anything else on the list. Laters, Josh

I have passed up a few games because my wife tells me even if we can aford it. We don't have the space. Plus it don't work. This seemed to be the last game I wanted to pick up. I keep telling her the next time I see a 1943 game I will get it. Passed three units up. Any ideas?

I just put Atari choice up with all the other bad deals. IBM uses Microsoft and open shelf parts for the P.C. The wife tells IBM to take a hike when IBM aproches Digital Research to use CPM. Sega kills Genesis and releases Saturn. I could go on with this for a while. Laters, Josh

Thank You to all the people who have boxes of stuff they consider not worth anything left in their garage or house.
-
I was looking over the stuff at shopgoodwill.com. I'm lucky that is an auction site. If I found that stuff at a local store. My wife would kill me because most of it would come home with me. I'm not just talking the atari stuff either. Laters, Josh

People back then didn't care much about copyrights. Instead of going after every little thing they just went after big stuff. Like Apple against Franklin. Even though I have read a few smaller claims later on by Atari. For instance the insertion of a game cart into the system. Would have been interesting if they would have won that one. Laters, Josh

I'm sorry, I just had to ask. The few things I could come up with. 1. Sega needed a fast controller design 2. Atari helped Sega design a controller (I doubt this) 3. They was planning to build a 2600 add-on. 4. Former Atari workers went to Sega 5. This could go on for a while. Thanks, Josh

Yes, I agree on some items being priced higher. I know of a few things I wouldn't have been able to get if it was not for the higher price. I picked up a camera that was going on ebay for $20.00 and picked it up for $15.00 to add to my collection. I noticed several people looking over it and putting it down when they saw the price. Ofcourse, normally I would have to wait until pay day. That is not good when it is a week away. They you return and cry you heart out when the item is gone.

This started with the Atari 2600 Jr. console in Sears. I noticed the system sold with no game and one joystick. I noticed the 7800 systems was backward compatible with the 2600 cartridges. For a person who owned an older 2600 system they were in heaven if they wanted to replace it with newer hardware. I tried to save up money but failed to purchase a nice new rainbow unit. For a person looking for a new system the 7800 were packaged with two controllers and a nice new game. What about the people who did not own a system or spend the price for a 7800? So did this hurt console sales or improve them? Sometimes the cost is justified. I passed up a later version Sega Genesis because it didn’t include a game. I laughed at Dream Cast cost. Not knowing that later system would be around that price. Below is a few more things listed in more current consoles though out the years. Yes, I know Nintendo seemed to use their power and really sucker people. Not including a way to hook it up to the television. I guess you are just supposed to set the unit next to the television and have it work. Have you ever turned down a system because it didn’t include something? I would like to know. Hopefully other will too. No Game One controller No backward compatibility Separate RF/AV connector No expansion unit No Memory Cartridge Thanks, Josh
