  1. I was thinking about some of this. First of all thank you for pointing out two types of controller for the kiddies. I didn't even think about that. As for the overlay. Well I"m going back to Idaho Falls satruday 8/11/07 to do some more searching for the cart. They have a case they put atari carts in. So it might have showed up. As for the overlay I don't know. For now I"ll hold onto it. Maybe later I'll decide. Like for instance I have been collecting a good size of extra loose carts both atari and sega I need to put up for trade. Have only said that for like a year now too. The extra carts just keep growing in size. LOL Yes, I felt I had to brag on the pengo a little. Bleah, Bleah, 6 in a while ha. Last group of games I picked up that I didn't have was 1-3 levels. But beleive me I'm always on the look out for rare games to pass them on. But so far no luck and I just don't go around picking up all the games. Other games that came in with the pengo was ms. pacman and I can't remeber the other one. LOL. As for the rom chips. Let me explain. The CPU thing was he suguested a ebay auction with a hacked combat cart that had a ziff socket in it to play chips. Once again bummed I missed it. laters, Josh
  2. So as you may remeber I found some Assumed Copied atari chips from back in the day. I didn't catch that Ebay Auction that CPUWIZ pointed me out to. I was busy was work helping a customer with e-bay on the screen. LOL. Works comes first. So I still have not plugged any of the chips in. Also I found a pengo for .25 cents and pleased to add it to my collection. Loose no box. Also found a Kid vid controller with Oscar the grouch on it. No Cart or box though it is possible it came in with one. But people like to f*ck with stuff at the thrift store. I say this since there was no price tag on the unit and it is in minty condition. Mostly if it is in minty condition the reason was it was in a box. So that was 2.00 Then at another thrift store. I found a stack of laser discs for .50 cents each. LOL, she called them records. Oh and a seg pico my mom picked up for my son with three books. Strangly enough I see a few books show up around the local thrifts every 6 monhts or so. Mostly here is the pics of the rom chips. Later, Josh
  3. Thanks, I got (The auction) book marked. I just with I know what the original connector looked like. As stated in the thrift store thread. The guy said the thing came in the set. Roms, notes, and cable to hook up. But that cable part was chucked. So I have no idead if it was a ribbin cable or a cart or what. lol later, Josh
  4. Oh and I know you probably already figured this out. that is a RF cable NOT a A/V cable. That does not plug into the Yellow connector on the tv. Another common mod I see if since the Switch boxes suck. Somebody purchased a RF Rca cable and replaced one end with a F-Type RF connector. Works reall well. Ex: RCA plug goes inside atari unit. RF screw type plug to Television. Later, Josh
  5. upon farther inspection. the one that says super math. Suspose to be super man. Josh The only one out of the bunch that is mostly a mistery is Copter bomb shoot. It has a ? mark on it as well. So perhaps the guy didn't know what to label it.
  6. I wanted to take a picture. But my digi camera was dead for batteries. So as soon as I get some. I'll take a pic. The only other thing that went MIA for 1 month is the guys in structions with it. Just saying how to insert the chip into the cart he mfg for them. AKA the one that got chucked. Besides that. There was no indication of anything. I have yet to see anything proto at all for atari in Idaho as of yet. But who knows. Most of the chips range in all different types from eeprom to rom chips. Like one has AMI stamped in it. Like burned into it. Never saw that before and also some older style with gold contact legs. So I assume whatever the guy could scrounge up. Later, Josh
  7. Okay so I got a story for you guys. About a month or so ago I wonder into the local thrift store and find on display a case of Rom chips with hand written lables. Um, okay right of the bat I noticed they was atari game names. So now I picked them up. What can I use to plug them in. Do I just need to order a socketed card for the rom chips? Also correction. Some of these are roms and some are eproms with windows and stickers with at least one with golden pins. Talk about some old stuff. Also the guy at the thrift store said it came with a adaptor but the guys in the back room chucked that. Go Figure. The following titles is listed. Air-Sea Battle Baseball (sears) combat (wtf would this be copied too) football (atari) indy 500 (atari) Kaboom othello (atari) pong freeway chicken (activiation) code breaker II ski (activision) supermath (atari) yars revenge stampede (activision) python race outlaw (atari) realsport or super? baseball super break out (atari) laser blast (activision) football (atari) black jack space invaders (atari/sears) E.T. (atari) WTF would somebody copy this? lol pitfall (activision) raiders lost ark (atari) Target fun (sears) Asteroids (atari) pac-man (atari) basket b st. race (atari) haunt house (atari) sword quest earth world warlords (atari) ice hockey (activision) boxing (activision) ? copter bomb shoot defender (atari) match defender (atari) advent soccor pele (atrari) Well there you have it. 30 year old pirarcy. LOL Later, Josh
  8. Okay so I got a story for you guys. About a month or so ago I wonder into the local thrift store and find on display a case of Rom chips with hand written lables. Um, okay right of the bat I noticed they was atari game names. So I asked the guy is that it or did it come with more. The guy said or it came with more (Like the rom connector and baord) But was thrown out. Oh the ironey of it. But when you get a bigger thrift store they seem to chuck the wrong stuff. Like a hp laserjet 4000 and or 4100 printer. But they keeped, drums, toner, and the extra paper tray. Grrrr. So anyway. I found the chips with case for 1.00 in the store. Not sure what happened for a month or so. MIA The following titles is listed. Air-Sea Battle Baseball (sears) combat (wtf would this be copied too) football (atari) indy 500 (atari) Kaboom othello (atari) pong freeway chicken (activiation) code breaker II ski (activision) supermath (atari) yars revenge stampede (activision) python race outlaw (atari) realsport or super? baseball super break out (atari) laser blast (activision) football (atari) black jack space invaders (atari/sears) E.T. 9. well been a while since i posted thrift finds. This is what i got today. I noticed yesterday that there was about 20 atari games in a box. So the next day I took my list in. TO my suprise. Picked up 7 more games that I did not have. Some I thought I already did. but I redid the list last year and weeded out the duplicates. Mattel Games astroblast Armor Ambush Activision StarMaster Atari (All Text Labels) Champioship Soccor (This had screw removed though label) Slot Racer (Bad label. Like left out in sun) AKA melted. Canyon Bomber 3D tic Tac Toe (Bad label in one corner) All Loose carts. For .50 cents each. Thought of picking up some of the other carts. Zimage I think and a few more activision. But nothing worth while that I did't already own. So I thought I got a good deal Later, Josh
  10. Well I'm sure you know that is a box of Cat3 cable I use for phone only. However, I noticed a few more items in the pic. Below the sega cd box is the box for the atari flashback 1. Then next to it is a Sega Ver 1 game/Console holder in box. THen you see the wooden smoked glass case. That has Intellivision games in it. Basicly mint do to the cover with instructions and inserts. I found it that way. Then the lexmark printer box contains intellivision games in with there boxes, interts and manauls. So I have a small meger intellivision collection going. Oh and a sh*t load of dust. lol I guess I collect that too. Later, Josh
  11. oh believe me. I know the 7800 is a 7800 says so on it. LOL. I read alot of this stuff years ago and well. Forget alot. later, Josh As for the one with the hand facing the back. It is a sears tele arcade or whatever it was. From atari. Atari with sears. Go figure.
  12. The hand holding up is a sears arcade game. From my understand allt he sears was heavy sixer. As for the other one with the guts. There is no channel selector switch and yes, there is a sticker on the bottom of that unit saying repaired by authorized atari repair service. idaho falls, id. So it is possible they replaced a cap then. Who knows. Becuase I thought the caps was full size not a small srimp version. Amazing the little things I don't think of. Like the channel 2 to 3 Switch. later, Josh
  13. I can't remeber. LOL. I just rembering turning it on and looking bad. That is was not the RF box. So I opened it up and found the bad cap. I'll fix it probably. Just not on a major todo list. IN fact I took it apart to double check that this out of the few atari's I have. was the one with a bad cap. IT is. Later, Josh
  14. Yea, The one with a bad cap and bad picture when playing a game. As for stupid question is it a heavy sixer? I think it is. has the speaker holes but from my understanding. That does not really mean anything. Also mfg by atari in sunnyville. But from my undestanding. That could be a farse too. later, JOsh
  15. This is some pics of stuff around the house. Mostly in the basement. Yes a little dusty. But still off the floor and dry. The sears video arcade was modded for better joystick connectors, the end had a RF end tabed to it instead of rca to switch box. Plus a few other mods. Getto 80's hack I guess. The sega cd blue box is a backup / next system. I purchased the box, sega, and sega cd, with sonic cd in the box for like $8.00. There is more stuff in other boxes all put away. Since I really don't own the house. I have been cleaning, collecting, and sorting. I have a cabinet full of games / stuff that I need to go trhough and get listed on this board when I'm ready to box, tape and ship. LOL. I know people post pictures and they bring back memories. So here is some. Don't judge me for having most of the stuff in the basement. That holder you see the sega cd and SNES in was upstairs. But I have been in the middle of a painting project. So most of that stuff I have turned on and tested and cleaned every once in a while. Later, Josh
  16. Thanks for the replies. I prefer new. You know I purchased a bangged up sears arcade that somebody heavily modified. Well I'll have to post a pic. Modified as in for back in the day better connectors and stuff. But when I tested the unit. It played 100% great with clear picture. So I hate to have destoryed a good working unit. LOL Later, Josh
  17. 22000 MF 16V Cap I got a 6 switcher with a bad cap on the switch contoller board. The game system itself looks like sh*t. I assume because of the bad cap. The rf out is on the same board. The cap is old, dried and shrunk on one end. ANybody have a new one of these caps? If not I found some on ebay and other places. Just don't need like 16 of them. LOL You know minimal order. Thanks, Josh
  18. Well a while back the guy who purchased this apartment complex / antique store (At one time antique store.) said there was a atari 2600 somewhere in a pile of boxes. Sure enough yesterday. I got my prize. A 4 switch Atari with orange band. Chewed or worn out RF cable. No power cord or joysticks but some common carts. On the bottom is a orange tag saying made in taiwan. Also I must have never looked into a atari 2600 4 switch since the circuit board is all one peice and I did not know that. On the circuit board. Atari, INC. C015519 Rev. 14 © 1980 Kalex Cleaned the dust off and have yet to plug it in. But being in such nice condition compaired to the last one I cleaned witha leaking 16v CAP? It should fire right up. Some of the other things I got: C64 with some kind of weird grease on the keyboard. (no power brick) Several Vic 20 game. Some in pretty bad shape. Mold / Water damage Same era joystick for the C64. (Seen them before with C64 system) A water damaged / sun faded / missing parts? C64 Thermal Printer. Alpha Com 42 A very badly damaged NES Caption Comic Game A single TI game Parsec A semi damaged Radio Shack Score Board. (Coroded batteries Mostly.) Going to clean it up and see if it runs. has the gun too. Vic 20 Games: Mole Attack Centipede Omega Rac'e Cosmic Cruncher Clown's Raid On Fort Knox Voodoo Castle Avenger Commodore Artis't Jupiter Lander Mission Impossible Gorf Pirates' Cove Speed Math / Bingo Math Nothing is for trade or sale. He has a few more rooms to go through. So who knows. He might find a vic-20. I have my doubts. Even though this place said antique store. Most of what was left and even at the time was Junk. 100% junk. I'll keep you guys / gals updated. later, Josh
  19. Well, I'm on the track of a free C64 and some games or something like that. Apparently beat up or something. Also some atari carts. The guy found one cart for me. Of all things a combat cart. LOL So as soon as I get a sec and he gets the key back. I can go undig from a pile of boxes the rest of it. Thrift store find: Sega Genesis Klax 1.00 Dino Land 1.00 Raiden TraD? 1.00 Thunder Force II 1.00 Eternal Champions 1.00 (Might ALready have this one.) All in plastic cart holder some without manuals. NO these are not for trade. Then a bigger find. A Vendolator VF56 coke machine. Free from the local junk yard. The compressor deck works so This weekend I'll be swapping it with another VF56 machine + parts to make one machine. Can't decide on bottle or can stack. Oh and the other machine was also free from the junk yard months before. Later, ussexplorer
  20. Search around. There is a board called like pachitalks.com or something like that. They can help you. Most of them are 240 volts. Then when brought to the U.S. converted to 110v using a 110v ac to 24v dc transformer. It all depends on the machine. As for not taking money and such. There is conversion kits for about 50.00 or so. Later, ussexplorer
  21. Well, sorry if you got the idea of new. But it is used. Well new in the box. So refurb or what ever you want to call it. It was in the isle with the table top games. At least in this toys r us. I only been to like 2 toys are us and both are designed slightly differently. In fact if I remeber correctly. The store in boise idaho had to pull theres. Guess the one down in idaho falls idaho was lucky. It is kinda a gray line in idaho. I know if I put this in a bar or other public place. It cannot pay out. Even with just tokens. Among other things. There is a group who argues that these are illegal even in a home. But the only ones I have ever heard about was one house that had a basement of gambling. The old card table. slot machines and such. So a underground gambling club. LOL Later, ussexplorer
  22. Pachislo is a machine with 3 to 4 spinning reels. Deposit tokens and pull handle located on front of unit. Then press 3 buttons on the front of the machine to stop each reel. One button per reel. Keeping this low profile as possible. I picked up a Oylmpia Pachislo machine from Toys R Us on clearance. The box says Arcade all over it and avoids calling it a slot machine. But it is 100% real and for $99.00 I couldn't pass it up. Complete with lCD screen. Nice Touch. This uses token mostly and can be converted to quarters. Some of the options I found for the machine is. Quarter Conversion Auto stop One Arm Bandit add on. Prices for these items vary. Anyway just wondering if any of you gents or gals out there had such a critter. Later, Ussexplorer
  23. This is a little old. But went something like this. About 2 weeks before X-mas a idiot was wondering throught the di (Deseret Industries) and what did I spy. A boxed sega cd for $5.00. Inside was something nice like a genny 2 and a sonic cd. Still all just for $5.00. I wasn't pissed that I was missing the power adaptors and what not. since it came with something nice like the a/v sterio connector and other goodes I was missing. Now as for the other part. I found in mint condition a couple of weeks ago. Several. I'm talking like 10 sega cd. Might as well been brand new. Not a scratch on any of the discs. Still included the foam insert. Might as well been shrink wrapped. The really bad thing. As 4.00 a peice and about 40.00 or so dollars. I still was x days away from a paycheck. Sniff. Oh well. better luck next time. Plus it is about 60 miles from me and the only day I got off after getting paid was sunday. The day they are closed. Though I tried thinking it was christmas and they might bend the rules. Nope. I did pick up one game though. Only in a jewel case with manual. But not a scratch on the cd. I just had to. It was the game for the blue gun I had. LOL> whatever that is a justifier or mencer or whatever. LOL can't remeber Also even though this is not a thrift item. They was selling for 24.99 those fake out systems in the mall. I could have purchased another one for 14.99. Geeze were do they get these things at. But I only needed one. Has the game built in. Looks like a ps/one and a cart slot. Need to figure out what type of cart slot. Stuck it under the tree for now wrapped up. Laters, Josh
  24. I had a problem on the 32x with memory errors and stuff. I just cleaned the connectors. Fixed all problems. THis was after the unit was working for years. I hope to run into a copy of Night Trap for the 32x. It kills me they have a 32x cd game. Okay I know the saturn has it. But think it they pushed the 32x and sega cd more. SH*t they had the CDX. Think of a mini 32x/cd with cart slot. WOuld have been killer. DOn't say it either. Like cough saturn. Well it didn't play genesis carts. Still finding gensis carts out the arse. Can't say the same for saturn, or dreamcast at least in this area. later, ussexplorer
  25. Not a thrift find. Added 27 more sega gensis carts. ALl but 2 with boxes and some with manuals. Local video store was closing out genesis, snes, n64. Plus got tons and tons of those clear plastic cases. Like two boxes and a big black trash bag full. Cleaning labels off is interesting. ANyway 50.00 and basicly doubled my sega genesis cart collection. Like above 80 carts now. Can't wait until I hit 100. Then again I could count the sega cd's I got too. Was going to pick up his snes games 25 or so in all. But some other things came up. So I'm not sure. At one time he had all of the n64 games except for 2. Later, ussexplorer
