  1. I've got one of these since 90-91 something and it's the best addition I ever made to the ST. It's still working and No, it's not for sale :-)
  2. Perhaps those that cost 300+ have Flappy Bird installed on them...
  3. Yes, documentation is really lacking. You just have to google like a madman to find bits and pieces here and there. Once up and running it's really useful though for file transfer. No more messing with floppies or SD cards (I put my Ultrasatan inside the MegaSTE).
  4. Thanks! I just got CAB working with WWW, so these are the very first web pages I surfed to with my Atari.
  5. You can use the Netusbee to transfer the files to the Atari. Oh wait... :-P
  6. I'm using STing with my Mega STE and the NE2000 drivers. Litchi for ftp to my NAS and directly to my Mac Mini. Haven't got any web browser to work yet. CAB 1.5 complains about a read error in the cache folder. I can ping servers on the internet though.
  7. Ah, mission accomplished. Now I can connect to my NAS through ftp with Litchi.
  8. OK, now I can ping the Atari from my Mac mini and ping other devices on my network from the Atari. Progress.
  9. I got the shipping mail today as well. Funny, since the package arrived yesterday. The case has a great sturdy feel to it. I'm trying to get the computer on the network now. It does show up on the network scan but does not respond to pinging. These things are not so obvious to me. Using STing and a Mega STE.
  10. I have it in my hand now. :-) Now, how to get this thing to work...
  11. Well done! What about hd-adaptions of the Falcon mission disks?
  12. Looks like it is close now...
  13. Thanks for the info, it might persuade me to get the internal version actually. As for the fan, I suppose it's there for a reason so I wouldn't want to remove it completely. It can be replaced easily if you lift the PSU out of the case. I wonder whether a slightly slimmer fan might cause less noise since it would leave a little gap between it and the grill in the case. Aren't the quiet fans just operating at slower speed than the noisy ones? Then I believe a resistor on the fan cable might give the same result. I already did this in a Mac LC475 which brought down the noise considerably. It also has a CF card reader so sitting under the desk it's practically noiseless to me.
  14. Yeah, might be worth checking it out.
  15. I have put an Ultrasatan inside my Mega STE, with the abovementioned adapter from Alan H. It works very well and I can use my Satandisk with the external connection. My only gripe is that I lost the LED activity light on the front. I've been considering switching to the Gigafile but also think it's a tad expensive. I've also been considering removing the fan but another option is to put a resistance on it to make it run slower. Will try that if I can bother to remove the case top sometime.
  16. I've ordered this book and look forward to reading it, being of the same generation and a technical writer myself. Regards, Carl
  17. I'm in for one and please include the busy LEDs on this one. I would also be interested in a NetUSBee. Regards, Carl
  18. Picked up mine today. Sent from my Raspberry Pi
  19. I'm still waiting for mine also. I was told it would be shipped during this week that has just passed.
  20. Ah, that's obvious...when you realize it. Using abbreviations.
  21. I realise this would be great for easy file transfer. I'm also interested in one.
  22. How to cut and paste from a physical book? Maybe it works from the pdf. For sio99 I suppose it wouldn't help since he can't transfer the file anyway. But your tip is of course a good one.
