I have browsed through it and I am reading the first chapter now. Thanks so much for this, it is incredibly detailed and well worth the wait and the money. Can't wait for the 2nd book now, congrats Marty and Curt -

I know, but you cut the other part of my answer What I wanted to say is that even if true some people do not like the idea of keeping their preorder confirmed against delays just to support the project. By the way my willingness to buy it is stronger than ever. Do you think it will be available within November or within Xmas? Or you honestly can't tell for now? -

I respect and admire your passion and rest assured I will still be first in line to buy when available but I do not entirely agree with what you say here. You say that you only gave ''planned release dates'' and not firm release dates but I think that it is a very subtle distinction and that the majority of people here (or elsewhere) have all the right to feel confused by this and even complain (if politely, of course), especially after you created some hype around the book (this thread is called "Countdown clock has started" after all) also basing it around a date (Atari anniversary). I work for a game company shipping products to retail and (as for all consumer businesses, I think) all dates are "planned" release dates, simply because everything can happen in the world forcing you to change the date. Only God probably has "firm" release dates, so I think the distinction between planned and firm is not convincing enough . And yes, it is now 4 months since your original "planned" release date, no question about this. You also say that it is normal for a product in pre-order to ship 6 months later than planned and this is very true but you also know well that it is then normal for customers/users to complain online and also to mention the fact that everybody should cancel their preorders. I am not saying that this is right or wrong, just saying that this is part of the game and you have to accept it, even if you are pouring heart and soul into your project (like hundreds of talented people do when trying to complete a game running behind schedule). Imho you cannot say that if people cancel their preorders the project is at risk, because part of the audience may think that you are deliberately telling them "just a few days before release" every time just to convince them not to cancel, even if you know the real release date is still far away (I am NOT stating that you are doing this, far from it, it is just what I think about this subject). Again, this is part of the game and imho you have to accept it, even if you are not doing it for a profit, also because this is a Kickstarter funded project. In the end I wish you all the best for the book and I can't wait to read it but please don't get upset if people want to know more about the release date and be honest with them. If you have no idea of when the release will be (or if you feel that it will take a few months more to complete) please let us know and we will relax about it. Telling everyone that it is costantly around the corner and then going silent and then again telling that it is only a few days away and then repeating the process can generate tension in the audience. -

Well, to tell the truth they promised a book AND a date (27 July). Now of course delays can happen but at least let's not pretend that the release date is a minor detail that wasn't even mentioned....after all without a release date we will never be able to enjoy the book -

Hello Curt, do you have an estimated date of release after the new submission? Just want to understand if we are still a month or two from release or if it's just a matter of a couple of weeks....thanks in advance for your reply. -

Exactly, that was my point. A preorder really makes sense only when a product appears on the site with release date and price. Without these of course you can preorder anyway but it's more an act of faith rather than a proper commercial transaction -

I voiced opinions, while you voiced insults joking about my comprehension skills, forcing me to reply...honestly I think that you are the one that should go elsewhere, if you can't stand someone who refuses to take your insults without replying. But probably you are so full of yourself that you consider everthing you say an absolute truth, while others just have comprehension issues... -

No need to get nervous, my friend...I have read the whole thread and althought you can preorder almost anything these days (people were preordering the WiiU well before knowing release date, price etc...) I mentioned that this have not appeared on Amazon yet (please go check yourself and if you can find the book and send me a screenshot of it I'll pay you a beer)....Seems I am not the only one who needs to read carefully, right ? -

I am sure it will be released one day but I was hoping to read it as soon as possible and the lack of updates makes me lose interest in it, especially after the authors built a good hype around it with countdowns, news, previews...a lot of books appear on Amazon for preorder even months before they become available but this one hasn't even made a quick appearance so far... -

Will this ever be released? It was meant to be out at the end of july, then september....now each week they say the next one is the good one...and then postpone it again... -

We need a date guys ! The waiting is killing me! -
Well, I would have bought without a doubt for twice the money or more a color edition with more and better images. In order to spend even more on it I would have considered a "coffee table book" approach but I know that not all the people would have spent on it, so I can't blame the book publisher for having chosen the current format. By the way, as I said, I do not regret buying it since it is worth reading (I would only have preferred some more anecdotes or some deeper insights). Just a small suggestion from my side: please fix the description on Amazon, removing the reference to the high quality images. You will give a better description of the book and your customers will be happy in any case since the book contents are good. I understand. A lot of the images were the highest quality available, especially the older ones. Some of it is the printers fault too, but that we can't change. The B/W part was mostly for cost purposes, with the color version costing more than double. Would you have rather paid more for the color edition? Thanks for your feedback.
