I have this thought. So during the bread, milk, and eggs rush for winter storms/blizzards. Is french toast really all that popular to eat during it??

  "milk and bread" probably just used as a catch phrase to remind people to stock up on food/supplies in general. Can't say I've heard of it though. Around here, seems they say "be sure to stock up on staples"

  I also hear "be sure to stay indoors" and "take shelter" a lot. Seems a bit more obvious than reminding people to go shopping. lol
