  1. Hey gang!! Which video game console is it that you are missing, wanting, or do not own in your library or game room that you would like to own and have it centerpieced? I have over 35 systems with a few modded xboxes plus a modded wii drowning me with tons of emulators and roms. But for a console that I would love to own. I got everything that I primarily want. But one that stands out as a must have for me to get in the future would be the Vectrex. I enjoy the arcade classics with vector based graphics. The controller is really cool and reminds me of the NES, Master System, 7800 (CX7800), and Turbo Grafx-16. I also like is that it's somewhat compact and if I get one, I can put it on a nightstand. And lastly from what I've heard others mention is they praise it for it's durability. Time is all yours!

  3. Anyone else have a nice picture of their beloved NES set-up? Feel free to share a picture. :-D

Sure!! I have a great sized game room and it's sitting on one of my shelves, but I will add some pics of my NES and my games. I have a few modded original xboxes and a modded Wii which has the whole library and some stored into the hard drives. I first played the NES at the age of six in 1987 and I just a youngin getting into video games and I was blown away at playing Super Mario Bros. Most of my heavy NES gameplaying days was from late 1988 to 1992. And when it comes to getting games for the system. I don't know which your favorite genre is. But some of my reccomendations are these. First, keep in mind a lot of the great games for the system are expensive! Notably the Mega Man series. But you can get 2 and 3 for a solid price as they are the cheapest of the 6 games and personally my favorites. I'll list some of the great games and then my library.

    Mike Tyson's Punchout!!

    Castlevania

    Simon's Quest

    Dracula's Curse (MUST HAVE!!)

    Legend of Zelda (MUST HAVE!!)

    Duck Tales

    Metroid

    Paperboy

    Mario 2

    Mario 3 (MUST HAVE)

    Tetris

    Ninja Gaiden

    Ninja Gaiden 2

Ninja Turtles 2 The Arcade Game

    Double Dragon

    Double Dragon 2

    Contra

And many of the Black Box games are some of the best! Also you should get a Famicom adapter (60 to 72 pin) to play some great Japanese games. There is also a great repro and homebrew library as well. Check out gamereproductions.com :)

Also I found a retro arcade just about a mile from my residence that opened this past December and has 80 machines, and they arevplanning to have 100 total. $10 all you can play for as long as you wish. 6. A friendly reminder that you have today and tomorrow left for Round 7. I also mentioned that for bonus points to play a round of Home Run Derby on World Series Baseball '95 due to baseball season starting. One homerun equals a bonus point. Let's see some of you guys go yard! :) Only three more rounds left in the league!! I had a fun time hosting this and I will start another one later this Summer! :)

  7. Ninja Golf: "Hall of Fame Game". I absolutley enjoy Ninja Golf! A great golf game with an excellent twist to it. You hit the ball while timing the distance meter and as you go up to the ball you fight ninjas, frogs, sharks, and gophers. And at the green you have to fend off a huge dragon by stunning it with shurikens. A great fun game that is addicting.

Sentinel: "Trash Game". Too repetitive, boring, and slightly difficult for my liking. The music will give you a headache. And the light gun support in shooting could be a little more accurate. This game is rare and should be sought after by collectors but not your library. I played it by emulation.

I just noticed I called Sentinel "Sinistar". :dunce:

  8. Well today when I was at a local video store a customer was talking to me and the store manager who I am friends with about a retro arcade joint nearby and where it's located. It is called Free Play. It's located in Richardson, TX about 1 mile from my residence. It opened up this past December and for $10 it is all you can play arcades with free play. Earlier in the day it's $5. They have a wide selection of arcade cabinets, cocktail cabs, a handful of pinball games, and some racing games. A great beer selection and some snacks, pizzas, and sandwiches on the menu. And 80's music playing blasting out loud in the speakers. I had a great time during my visit today and am pleased to see a great retro arcade joint near me. The staff is very friendly. I took the time to do a youtube video of it.

  9. I don't play the Atari 2600 everyday, but I definetley play it a few times each week. I enjoy the extensive library whether it is a two player head to head game, achieving the best score that you can get and raising the bar to top it again, and challenging the point total in the Activision games which would earn you the patches. That and the NES were the systems I grew up with in the late 80's/early 90's. The 2600 is more fun to play at night with the lights out in my honest opinion.
