Sweet. I'm actually a Jan baby, 24th to be exact. The docs miscalcuated my due date and my mom had planned a C-section operation on February 14th if I didn't come sooner but I was ready to come out 3 weeks ahead of schedule!
May 1980 - Jan/Feb 1981 is in the 9 month ballpark, so I like to believe my Atari was "conceived" around the same time I was. Birth of the console would actually be the "unboxing" event and no telling when that happened, very likely Christmas 1980.

eBay finally brought us together in 2012, yay! She needed a bit of TLC but I refurbed her with a new regulator, filter cap, real coax RF cable with a ferrite choker, and lastly adorned her with a limey green power LED next to the turn-on switch. Stella's my gal...
EDIT: Wow, that was one of my weirder posts. Gotta stop staying up all night and into the morning posting random crap!
BTW, love your avatar. I have the RetroUSB VS Duck Hunt and shooting that dog never gets old...

I know 1980 is when the 4 switch woodys supposedly came out. I hardly see any manufactured ones for that year. Mostly Light Sixers. My Light Sixer was made in June '80. Heck, I even seen a bunch of 1981 manufactured Light Sixers posted on threads. I have all the 2600 models. I use my 4 switch woody as the predominant choice for my vcs gaming and the 7800. When we were talking about the vs.Duck Hunt the other day, I had to change my avatar to that. I like playing it on my smartphone from my mame4droid app. Use touch screen controls for it, and is fun to play. I remember first playing Vs. Duck Hunt at my local 7-11 with my dad back in 1986-1987. Funny they use to have arcade cabs there.

My favorite Atari is the one I own, a 4-switch woody. Rolled off the assembly plant in May 1980 according to the date stamp, somewhere around the time I was conceived...

Your 4 switch wood grainer must have been one of the earlier made ones manufactured. Mine was January 1982. Also born the same year as me!! 1981! I'll be 34 this Summer.

Ha, MLB Baseball....what an abomination. You could routinely throw a guy out at 1st base from right field, but not on a hard hit grounder to 3rd. That game was the worst!
As for the RBI infield fly rule, we just observe it and if your infielder can get to it, we just have the fielder make the catch as usual.
Not to mention you practically foul off every pitch, the computer will either throw a 30 mph pitch down the center then throw you off with a 110 mph fastball. And never forget the ball hovers up in the air when you foul it off the base of the fencebor make a wild throwband lands there. You can walk into the crowd as well. XD So many messed up bugs and glitches in that game, but still fum to duke it out in multiplayer.

That is an awesome collection!! You truly show dedication and patience in this collection! This will take an hour to like all the photos so here is a like x all the photos lol!! And I want to say thank you again for hooking me up with some loose 5200 games a couple years ago. I got the Atarimax SD cart which is really convenient.

I forgot Dubble Dibble I mean Double Dribble. I used to love resetting the console just to hear that lol. Still better than the NBA2K series!! I always thought the original Mario Bros. was a great head to head game you can play as a team or against each other and dupe your opponent. Ninja Turtles the arcade game was a great co-op game.

Combat, Pac Man, Space Invaders, Centipede, E.T., Missle Command, and Kaboom always have a place in my heart and were the first games I remembered playing for the 2600.

Voted for Ms. Pac-Man. It was a great improvement over Pac-Man, the maze design was spot on, and the difficulty was perfect and fun to play. Jr. Pac Man close second.

A Channel F flashback would be awesome since it's getting close to it's 40th anniversary. Always wanted to get one of them. But the drawbacks are. Tough to find, pricey since it's on the scarce side, and finding a great working order one. I heard they overheat a lot.

Pac-Man and Zaxxon. Pac-Man doesn't have the exact maze layouts and the fruit looks like a block of cheese, it's still quite addicting. Zaxxon with the different flying angle which is hard to adjust to I still enjoy it.

Tonight on the menu...... Missle Command, Haunted House, and Mountain King.

This is kind of a weird (also sorta lazy) question, but does anybody know of a good site that keeps up on current release dates?
I looked over IGN, but their list isn't really in order or anything. I'm looking for a site that has an actively established release date set for like... the next couple weeks or months (if months is possible).
Doesn't necessarily have to be video games exclusively either. It'd be nice to have a broader look at what is coming out each week that is organized by day or week.
I know I can just search something like "what comes out X day", but I'm looking for something more organized.
So... anybody have any clues?
I'm not like super concerned with knowing, but out of curiosity and liking to keep an open eye, I would like to know of anything.
Gamestop website.

Awesome game room! I think I'm gonna pop in and watch The Breakfast Club after hearing Simple Minds being blasted. Like that you got Pepsi Invaders running!!

Most classic game room episodes refrain from it, but here and there an F bomb can be dropped.
