  2. I've ordered from Best Electronics several times myself. The website is indeed very primative and looks like it was done in 1995 without any updates. I've bought mostly 5200 accessories. Mainly the refurbished gold plated joysticks, 7800 European controllers, games, and gold plated 2600 controllers. You can order the refurbished controllers, get the parts to install yourself, or even send them in to have it done for you. Bradley is a great guy and you can contact him by email or call him if I recall it's 1 to 5 PM Pacific Time Mondays through Fridays. If you need 5200 sticks they are worth every penny from Best and they live to their word that they will last a lifetime.

that sucks! Much damage? Even light collisions today are a PITA and expensive! :-(

The police might still be able to find him depending on the population of your city and how many gold F150's are around there. The dude was probably DUI; that's why they didn't stop. Or they have warrants/no license, etc.. That sucks.

@Save2600. It was a good size dent in the rear bumper to the rear wheelwell area on the passenger area. The light cover is cracked but it functions properly. I know that it does suck. Plus I had hail damage this past March then that so two out of pocket deductibles. X(

  5. Thanks!! Mario Bros is one of my all time favorite classic arcade games from the 80's. My best score is around 210,000. I got to Phase 18 in this go round and that is when icycles are falling off the pipes and floors. The fireballs go insane as well. Have it on mame for the modded xboxs but love to get the original 1983 cabinet for it to put in my man cave.
  6. Went to the arcades again right up the road from my residence. Played some Pole Position and scored 47,180, Mario Bros with a 140,980 performance, and Castlevania on the Nintendo Playchoice-10 with a 229,190 performance.
  7. I have to go with the Odyssey 2. Other than the nifty built in membrane keyboard, it has a decent library of games like K.C. Munchkin, K.C.'s Krazy Chase, UFO, Pick Axe Pete, Killer Bees, Turtles, and Smithereens. In addition the homebrew market is not too shabby either. Sure the games were primative and not compared to the 2600 or Intellivision. It still packs some good replay value. The Voice is a cool peripherial as well.
  8. Thanks for pointing the error out and correcting me. I think I was a little brain dead when I posted . I meant to put Haunted Castle and that is what I played and not Vampire Killer. Sorry for the mistaken input and confusion. It's all edited.
  9. CAUTION: To avoid damaging game info saved, hold in reset button as you turn power off.

The only time I have lost save game was by powering on and off rapidly. I use to turn of Dragon Warrior and Zelda all the time w/out reset and never lost a save.

    2. Cobra Kai

      Cobra Kai

what was up with that anyway? how did holding reset prevent loss of saves?

IKR. It never corrupted any save files whenever I played Zelda and Adventure of Link. I always just powered off and no loss files.

  10. Intellivision: Stampede: 40 Minutes Turbo Grafx 16: Bomberman: 25 Minutes Playstation: Point Blank: 15 Minutes Point Blank 2: 30 Minutes Mame/Arcade: Mario Bros: 20 Minutes Haunted Castle: 40 Minutes Super Sprint: 3 Minutes Tempest: 7 Minutes Pole Position: 6 Minutes Space Firebird: 8 Minutes Speed Buggy: 4 Minutes Ms. Pac-Man: 10 Minutes
  11. When I was a kid, I thought Hall and Oates was Haulin' Oats. :(

I read an article/interview in the early 1980s that claimed a lot of people called them "Holland Oats."

When I was a kid, I thought the band's name was "H2O" (I think I saw that on an album cover). Then, being the geeky kid I was, I thought I was in on a nerdy joke. My older sister never got it, though.

I also thought Disney was "Disnep".

  12. You mentioned a lot of my favorites. Here is some other ones that I enjoy a lot. Capcom Classics Collection Volume 1 and 2: The Capcom Classics Collection is a top contender for some of the best compilation games as it delivers some of the great arcade classics from the mid 80's to the 90's. And you get a bunch of cool unlockables when you reach a target score. Activision Anthology: Another fantastic compilation of some of the best 2600 games. I enjoy the fact when you reach the target score to earn the patch for the particular game you earn it and it goes on the wall. Plus a plethora of commercials you can unlock and a good 80's soundtrack. Namco Museum Anniversary: Some of the best classics like Pac Man, Ms. Pac Man, Galaga, Pole Position 1 and 2, etc. Midway Arcade Treasures 1, 2, and 3: Fantastic fighting games, racing games, and a lot of the classics. 1 and 2 are the best ones while 3 only has about 8 or 9 games. Race Drivin' and Stun Runner are included though.
