  1. Cool, glad to see you picked up a copy. I just bought "byte before Christmas" and KC is next on my wish list. Enjoy!

I really do enjoy it! Especially the easter egg when you hold pause to power it on past the bios screen to the title screen you can play the 1981 graphic version. Also, is there any word about the Bentley's Crystal Quest game. I absolutley want to get that!!! Bob DeCrescenzo has done an amazing job on the 7800 homebrews. If he done all this in 1984. The 7800 would have been an even more outstanding system and not get any of the hate it did back when the NES dominated. Probably one of if not the most underrated and most under appreciated console of all time.

  2.

quote name="pimpmaul69" post="3221631" timestamp="1429424218"]yes mine was on wood. Carpet gets hotter than anything else and can dangerously hot. I had a kid i told to not put his xbox 360 on his bed anymore because it was causing it to overheat and breaking the solder joints. He brings it back again and tells me that he stopped putting it on his bed and put it on a pillow. I was thinking WTF!!!!!

Clearly he needs to start wrapping it in a towel or heavy coat.

  3. I am sure many Atari 2600 titles would qualify as the last few years some of the wackiest ideas for games appeared, some might say they came up with anything just to make a game ;)

And COME ON 2600 which such themes? That's pretty weird:

So many weird titles and themes I am sure the 2600 might be king in that area though if I had to guess perhaps OLDER DOS COMPUTER titles are probably good for this as well as INDIE games where people are more free to be creative (for better or worse lol)

    Kool aid man rocks!!!!

  4. Says listing removed? Was it a real doozy?

$10,000 bid for a crappy 2600 and some games. The description asked people to bid because it was for medical bills.

Not only was it $10,000 for the vader 2600. Charging $800 for shipping!?!? His grandfather needed a heart transplant so it said. I think the seller needs a brain transplant.

  5. So, in the past 2 months I have emailed Best Electronics 3 times asking about purchasing the CX78 controller, and never got a response.

    Any suggestions?

Did you look in your spam folders? I would just try calling them. I bought my controllers. There and had no issues with them service wise.

  6. Man, is this a timely thread or what? I just bought a Light Sixer on eBay last night and remembered seeing posts in the past where people have touched up the trim but I couldn't remember what kind of paint was used. Fantastic!

Awesome and glad to hear that!!! And congrats on your Light Sixer!! Heavy Sixers and Light Sixers are the most notorious for the paint fading around the bezel. Especially they are at least 35 year old systems. Seems like most of the 4 switch woodys hardly have that problem that I am aware of. Glad to give some tips to gamers that areva real help to them. :-)

  7. I am not sure if anyone has posted a topic regarding to this. I'm not sure if any of you prefer your 2600 cart slot bevel with it's original look even if the paint has faded. If it has faded, and you want it to look original again. These paint markers make it look fresh and new again. You can get these at any arts and crafts store like Hobby Lobby or Michael's. The yellowish one is the one for the Heavy Sixer and orange for the Light Sixer and 4 switch woodys. Here are some shots. I have a couple extra 6 Light Sixers to do so and here are my consoles. My 4 switch woodgrainer didn't need it as the original paint is still great 33 years later. Anybody looking for a solution. Take the cart slot bevel off, put masking tape everywhere except where the paint Is, paint gently by lightly pushing marker down and painting around the bevel. Hope this helps.
