    Bob is taking a break from game development. Hopefully, he will be back after he takes care of a few more important things...

    I don't blame him...I'm sure he has a lot of other business to attend to in his personal life. He should just continue to take his time and take it slow....even if it takes years....Bobs a good man and has already done so much good for the Atarian community for years...He is appreciated by us all of course......He deserves a break and I'm sure when he has extra time, he will get it done...No rush is necessary as a wise man once said,"good things come to those who wait"....:)

    Listen mack, I hope you are not reffering to me. I was actually being very sincere about this thread, bub...I sincerely would love more than anything in the world for a new Atari console and I'm pretty certain there are millions around the world that would buy into it......And as far as my last reply to another member that simply expressed interest in a portable Atari, all I did was linked up an article about it for his veiwing pleasure. And humble interests...How does that make me a parody persona?, LoL......

    I can only use one word to describe this and that word is , BEAUTIFUL......I havnt played the rom yet because I will wait until this is available on cart so I can play it the old school way in the actual 7800 console.....But what I have read and seen on this thread, Bently Bear will be the best game ever for the 7800....PACMANPLUS(BOB) IS THE MAN...:)

    Atari in the mobile market, don't think so

     

    That's the only hardware market they can get into, the desktop games market is already spoken for, hardly anyone is doing anything (games wise) for computers (pc's) and most of the linux stuff is free

     

    Hows about a retro mobile, Atari....show me the money (as it said in some film)

    According to this old link below, someone already made an Atari 7800 portable. Like 4 years ago by a guy named Ben Heck. Check it out....

    It never came available to the public, Its about as big as an IPad LoL. Its got an option for both paddle like controls and also a NES style gamepad control...It looks cool as Hell...Id buy it. :)

    Last I heard 'current Atari' was a pack of jerks rampaging across the internet threatening homebrewers and small dev houses with legal action. Or how they tried using close to slave labor to remake pong for the modern masses. Why would I buy anything from them? Ever.

     

    All they want to do is sell tee shirts, belt buckles, and lousy ipod clones of games I have a million better copies of already.

    Atari should just go away.

    Don't worry, after I win the megamillions lottery jackpot and buy Atari Inc, ill fire all those jerks and hire you guys. Ill also hire Pacmanplus and AL as Atari's new CEO and General Manager.. Then we can donate all those funny looking t-shirts and belt buckles to the Salvation Army and turn Atari back into the video game king of the world once more like the prophecies were written in biblical times.... Would that help the cause? :)

    Yyou guys are totally insane...Wow, all I did was suggest that us atari fans sign a dam petition and be supportive if Atarii ever came out with a new console....Anyone on this forum who wouldn't buy a new console made by Atari is lying to there dam selves, LMAO. jeeeeeeeez ...keep it real....

    After extensive searching on the internet...I have discovered that there is not much data concerning this particular cart..I did, however, come up with this.

     

    Both Ballblazer and Commando use the POKEY chip for sound...which would make Commando a Type 3 cart

     

    Now don't take this as true facts...this is just a logical assumption.

    In the process of researching 7800 carts I discovered that there a quite a few variations of

    the cart hardware. This list documents what I found in the cartridges I have, but it's possible that

    some carts may have been made in more then one type. The type numbers below are totally

    arbitrary and have no special significance.

     

    Each cart in the list lists the name, type, ROM chip part number, and jumper setting.

     

     

    Type 1: Standard ROM cart. PCB CO24926-xxx

    Type 2: Standard ROM with resistor in series with +5V. PCB CO24926-xxx

    Type 3: POKEY cart. PCB C026461. These carts also have 3 hardwired jumpers

    Type 4: Supercart without RAM IC. PCB C100339. These carts have 8 soldered jumpers

    Type 5: Supercart PCB board with only a ROM and U2 (74LS02). PCB C100339

    Type 6: Small style Supercart with no RAM. PCB C300595. No jumpers

    Type 7: Supercart without RAM IC. PCB C300565. These carts have 6 soldered jumpers

    Type 8: Supercart with all IC's. PCB C100339. These carts have 8 soldered jumpers

    Type 9: Supercart with all IC's. PCB C300565. These carts have 6 soldered jumpers

    "Super games" = Atari 7800 & "Now you're playing with power" = NES

     

    What's "super" about 7800 games, and what "power" are you playing with in respects to NES games?

     

    They are marketing terms and gimmicks.

     

    Sega had one too with the Genesis...They called it "blast processing".

    So buy a sticker.

    I already did that decades ago...As a matter of fact, I put Atari label stickers on all of my NES carts when I was a kid, LoL.....I even took a permanant marker and drew the Atari logo on my NES console....I was a pretty weird kid as you guys can probably imagine. :)

    Yeah but the games arnt any better than the nonsuper labeled carts....as a matter of fact, the regualr game carts are simply better....most the super game carts suck......What about Tower Toppler? Now that game really was Super...

    See????? Nobody knows, as my suspicions are justified.....The only answer I can come up with are that the word "super" were labeled on the carts as some sort of sales technique...When I used to go into Toys R Us as a young lad, I would run up to the boxes that said "super" first because the word "super" was an eye catcher to me....I would scream, "wow, super cart"...."these carts must be special because they say super on them"......Maybe my theory is not correct.......That's why I made this thread, with the hope that someone out there in Atari Land can answer my questions about the so called Super carts, but no one has the great answer yet as I can see.....This remains a mystery inside my thick skull. :(

    I have always wondered what the difference is between the atari 7800 carts and 7800 super carts are. What makes the super carts better than the reg 7800 carts? The best 7800 carts don't even say super on the label.......What makes the "Super" labeled 7800 carts Super? Can anyone explain what makes "super" game carts more super than regular labeled 7800 carts???? I don't get it, LoL.....

     

    Also as everyone knows, the Super game cart lettering are the only carts that have RED lettering on the labels except "Tower Toppler"...Why is that?....Was Tower Toppler supposed to be a super cart? Was it a mistake that the words Super Game Cart were not written on its label?......I'm not trolling, just curious about Ataris labeling of the Super carts as this has always made me curious because I don't see what made the super game carts any better than the regular labeled 7800 carts.....Anyone know what the reasoning is behind this conspiracy?????

    Alright alright, I will leave you to your fantasy in peace. Actually I can relate, for years I entertained the hope of AMIGA computers returning to former glory, when ESCOM bought them but especially after GATEWAY bought them (and NO those PC's with the C64.Amiga logos and branding from CommmodoreUSA don't count, don't EVEN get me started on that shit) but my hopes were crushed over and over as various companies obtained the AMIGA assets, copyrights etc, made a lot of promises but did little to nothing. Back in the Amiga days I was probably the only and last time I would've considered myself a "Fan boy" lol. You see, I am a bitter old man now who simply will not allow himself false hopes when it comes to technology! So when I see someone else going down that same hopeless path I try to interject reality before you waste years on a false hope only to be constantly disappointed and mentally scarred...............ok lol, enough fun :-D
