  1. I agree, the Jaguar's capable of probably making StunRunner identical to the arcade version which happened to be made by Atari programmers anyway. The 7800 version would be a lot slower, but I'm sure is capable of making at least a playable version of some sort.
  2. I wish someone would homebrew a port of the 1989 arcade game "Stun Runner" for the Atari 7800 and Jaguar. The game is awsone for the Lynx. Probably would be perfect for the Jaguar, but not so good for the 7800, but interesting just to see how it would look on the old 7800. Might not be that bad. 1 of my favorite classic arcade games.
  3. Funny, I'm reading this thread and listening to the Flashback audio channel on SonicTap/DirecTV and that song just came on... Worst song in history as far as I'm concerned.Where the hell are the smileys on this site?
  4. In My opinion, COMMANDO is the best game ever made for the 7800 console. It uses the pokey chip too which is a definate plus. Most importantly the gameplay is off the chain even by todays standards. Its one of those games that you can play over and over again, because its nonstop action. Certainly better than the other console versions of the game that was out at the time. According to a lot of peoples opinion, its a little bit too slow, but to me its just right. It stays true to the arcade version other than the speed and graphics, but as graphics are concerned for home consoles of the 1980s, dam good..... Nintendo's version was crap. If only Atari made more games like that for the 7800.....Coulda woulda shoulda.....too late. They waited too long to put games like this out in 1989 to 90......... But if they would of, they could of gave Nintendo a run for there money. Commando is #1 for this system and if you don't have it, GET IT......its worth the time if your an atari 7800 gamer. Works better with European style joypad controllers.
  5. I agree with the o.p of this thread. It also ticks me off about all the negative internet ratings about Desert Falcon for the 7800. The graphics (considering the game was made in 1984) are very good for the times and underapreciated, probably do to the fact that most people back in the days didn't know it even existed or even what an Atari 7800 was because it wasn't popular or even marketed properly. Nintendo ruled the World by the time it became available to the public. LoL, I remeber getting made fun of for even having an Atari 7800. As far as the game play goes, I always thought it was fun and not hard to control at all with the standard proline controller. It is much easier than Zaxxon for the 5200 which sucks. I think Desert Falcon is a unique game and on my top 10 lists of 7800 games.
  6. I didn't mean to bump the last response twice. Sorry guys, I hope I'm not banned for this.
  7. I am familiar with the game, as I did used to have it when I was a kid. I had just about every 2600 game too but sold them all cheap like 14 years ago. I just recently got back into recollecting everything I could for the atari systems more like a hobby...... Tank Command isn't a very good game at all and certainly isn't worth 200 dollars, but a fossilized piece of Goerge Washingtons poop shouldn't cost a million dollars on Pawn Stars either. The only reason I would pay whatever the cost is for Tank Command, is simply because its become a rare collection item. Back to the subject of Tank Command, I always liked The other Froggo game "WaterSki" better even though its dam near impossible to get to level 1. Assuming that Tank Command is worth closse to 200 dollars now, I'm pretty sure it will be next to impossible to get in a decade. Meaning it will be worth more. Anyway, I bid on the Tank Command that was linked here earlier. I searched Ebay quite a few times and couldn't find that particular auction. I don't know why....must of just missed or passed over it.... 107.00 is pretty fair considering it looks like its in excellent condition with the box and seal wrap still on it.....I went up to 110 dollars and the auction should be over in a day or so......I hope none of you try and out bid me by raising the price up.....LoL

  9. Thank you....That price for Tank Command is about what I thought but its worth it to collectors, and it will only get more rare and more costly later so I'm getting it. Gotta have it, I won't be eating for a week now. Appreciate the help.
  10. Seriously, no one in the world can just sell ma the dam cartridges? Help me dammit. Please. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7movKfyTBII
  11. Its unfortunate what the new management at the time did to the the 7800 console. If they would of taken the time and added the pokey chip for sound, and made more titles for it, instead of storing the units in warehouses until it was to late to compete with Nintendo in 1986, The Atari 7800 could of easily ruled until the end of the 1980s......The Console had the same capabilties as the N.E.S but the time and money was not put into it. If only Atari wouldn't have given up on the Video Game Market after the crash of 84. Atari probably should of took Nintendo up on there offer to build there new System. Atari 7800 would of been what Nintendo became. Still, The Atari 7800 is my favorite system of the 1980s....I love the ports of old arcade games like Xevious,Ms. Pacman and the Mario-Donkey Kong games.
  12. Hello I am new to this forum. I grew up on Atari and rebuilding my old collection. I am in the market for all things Atari. I am almost done with my Atari 7800 collection. I pretty much have every accessory and both versions of the 7800 console in almost perfect conditions. I have all cartridges with the exception of 3. I have been having a very very hard time locating these 3 cartridges anywhere, and believe me I have tried. The folowing are the 3 games: 1.Tank Command 2. Kung Fu Masters And 3. Mean 18 golf. If anyone reading this knows of where I can purchase these 3 titles, please let me know. If you have xtras that you are willing to sell, I would love to purchase. I would prefer if they are still in box, but loose cartridges will be fine for now. I am already aware that tank command is the rarest and most costly game in the Atari 7800 game list..........I'm willing to pay the price. If not, I would very much appreciate if someone here would be kind enough to post a link to a site, or a location where I can purchase these three 7800 titles. Thank you for your time and I appreciate the help. Its frusturating to have an almost complete collection with 3 games missing, LoL
