  7. Hi guys there is good chance that many of you may of seen this series already, I often spend time searching stuff like this on the tube but i have never come across this until a few days ago, Its a really cool insight into working at Atari and if you haven't seen it yet then you should...........Enjoy http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UE0sSo99ox0&list=FL_o8x5VgKftzNTPlMj97q1Q&index=6
  8. why dont you simply buy some adhesive vinyl sheet that comes pre printed in a variety of wood grain finishes?
  9. It absolutely is legit, here is a sealed one, you can see in the pictures its exactly the same as yours.
  10. Im not sure but aren't 5200 carts wider but not taller as they used 2600 labels but turned on their side hence why you get that slightly odd looking label layout, I would say these are legit products that for whatever reason the fit wasnt designed to be completely snug.
  11. I am going to launch a new show on youtube detailing all of my arcade builds so there will be a full Yars episode, once its done i will put a link up, Thanks for your interest.
  12. Im with you on this, I did play it a fair bit on my snes because the animation was a spectacle at the time but its hard as hell and is a bit choppy, There are many many greater games that could be converted to the 7800
  13. Well the graphics are stretched in that manner due to the sprite drawing scale of the 7800 hardware, some of the worst sounds ever?? well it sounds like the arcade version admittedly im not saying exactly before you jump in with some comeback to the contrary but all the movement and jump sounds are in place along with the music, I think your being picky for some reason what that is i dont know or care.
  14. Well exactly that, yes they were obviously independently programmed but the 7800 version is based off the NES version as is jnr and Mario Bros all of which are excellent conversions.
  15. Thank you for your kind words.
  16. I think the 7800 port of donkey kong is excellent and pretty darn close to the NES version from which i think it was built, If i had owned a 7800 when it was released i would of been totally happy with this version as i loved the nes one in 90'
  17. http://atariage.com/forums/topic/210166-galaga-new-ship-more/ kevin is the man for hacks.
  18. Kevin's galaga hack is the best version....FACT
  19. yes all controllers will work on the 7800, Any controller that shares the common interface will work, I have amiga, Quickshot , Sega , Amstrad lots of controllers if it fits it works, But only beware that the only two button support exists within 7800 controllers, Other second party controllers that may have two buttons will not and yes its the same on the 2600, If it fits it works pretty much.
  20. Yes there is a 2600 galaga rom im sure i have it running on my arcade at home and its a mess.
  21. Holy shit what did i just watch.................Thats freaking awesome the atari is just awesome, no go and adapt these techniques into a mind blowing game please
  22. For me its all about Tom kerese and Jordi Kabo's designs, I think they both capture the atari style perfectly, They retain the design but look totally fresh.great job guys.
  23. Im sure they have pal stickers, i also own a 7800 which sadly got damaged in transit after i purchased it and its never worked but the guy i bought it from told me it wasnt a version with built in asteroids.
