Thanks for your feedback, yeah i imagine this must of been pretty darn sweet back at launch and as you say it still is

My paddle controllers have never been very useable despite my attempts at resurrection. I picked up a mint set a few days ago and happily set about some paddle action.
Of all the paddle games i own ive spent the most time playing Night Driver, i know the game catches a lot of negative reaction but i actually find it quite fun, at least once you get used to the corners.
I wondered on what this game seemed like at release, i certainly didnt have an Atari back then and nor did many of my friends so i never got to experience it.
I can only assume it must of been pretty ground breaking to be able to take a first person cruise at home.
So for those of you that did experience it what are you or where your feelings toward the game and the general experience?

Mmmmkaaaay... I just set it up so at the title screen you can hold down while pressing fire to start and this will disable the in-game music (noise). I also lowered the music (noise) volume by one notch to keep dogs from surrounding peoples houses.
This will be available in the 'for sale' version of Run Out!
Thanks for the suggestion and it was a b with an itch to figure out how to squeeze that last bit in there! It's done, though. So good!!

wow thanks for listening and im continually impressed with your ethic and ability to just get things done, i will try the new version once you post it.
Thanks again

Only a few boxed and cartridge/manual only are left.
is this just NTSC or PAL also?
-
O.k i finally got around to playing it and this is what i think. Firstly congratulations on putting together a great game, I have only two points, one i would say kill the music, its impressive that you have managed to get it in there but it isnt good, the bleepy tones just detract from what is a great game and secondly i would say that the other car model sprites that you come up against actually look sportier than the player car, i found the gearshift confusing and going hi-to low was seemingly random uit never felt much like i was doing it but im sure thats just player error.
I would kill the music and maybe alter the car sprite, but for me just loosing the music would make it fine, id certainly buy a cartridge of this game.

Looks good, thanks for the update.
The final design will borrow elements from these but be quite different, the few people who have seen it at this point really liked it so i hope you will all do to. i am striving to give this product the very highest level of design and finish we can achieve.

Night Driver Thoughts?
in Atari 2600
Posted
yeah i agree this would be cool, I know the car in the arcade was an actual on cabinet graphic but i always thought could somebody hack the car to look better, i think the car sprites that you face are actually very nice along with their horn sound.
