I don't think she can do much. She's in Austrailia, AtariAge is hosted in the US, and any judge or lawyer that spends two minutes looking at the situation will know she has no case. Her self-incriminating writing is all over the auction. Rosa's case is laughable at best.

Not funny.

Like the scumbag who sold the $700 Red Sea Crossing repro... http://atariage.com/forums/topic/245375-atari-2600-red-sea-crossing-real-or-fake/ Looks like the OP will be getting his money back but has to fork over $70 to return that turd. Fact is, the eBay moderators have no expertise on what counts as counterfeit or legit auctions. And it is clear based on the Air Raid thread, that people can flag auctions until the cows come home and eBay simply doesn't listen.

Atari 2600 "Red sea crossing" Real or fake
Andromeda Stardust replied to Max_Revolver's topic in Atari 2600
Well eBay should make the seller cover the return shipping. Even if you can't get a refund on shipping, taking a $70 loss is sure as hell better than a $700 loss. My two cents. If you do end up shipping it back, make photocopies of the USPS receipt and forward them to eBay resolution center. They should reimburse you for it. -
Nothing wrong with the AGS-001 screen. Sure the 101 is better, but I'm not sure it's worth the premium. My bigger issue with the GBA-SP in general is that it cramps my large man hands. In fact I bought the GBA-SP in 2004 and after sever hand cramping after a couple hours of Super Circuit, I immediately went to Walmart and bought one of the original purple GBAs they had on clearance. SP is not so bad for playing Game Boy, but for GBA games that make extensive use of the L and R triggers, the original GBA or a DS "Phat" is a must. So DS-phat for GBA games, GBA classic + Worm light for GB/GBC. So I think I'm in the minority for preferring the classic GBA (with Worm light) over either of the GBA-SP models.

What is your favorite console generation?
Andromeda Stardust replied to NeoTurboManiac's topic in Classic Console Discussion
Wii-U is obviously the funnest console this gen, even if it is losing the arms race. Sorry you are dissatisfied with Xbox. Sony/MS have the flashiest ads though. There's still far more worth playing on the PS3/360 consoles. Two cents. -
Was it a BIN? Maybe you got lucky.

How come a lot getting into retro games skip Atari?
Andromeda Stardust replied to totallyterrificpants's topic in Atari 2600
Or you had frugal parents like I did. I was born in 1981 and did enter arcades as a kid, but only to watch others play. Post 2000 or so, nearly all the so-called "mall arcades" were just ticket redemption devices where you spend $20 or so on tokens and if you're lucky, you won enough tickets to redeem a dollar store prize. Like it or not, this is what arcades have regressed to. And regarding the NES, since all my friends had one growing up and I just wanted to fit in, I begged my parents every Christmas for an NES. I did not finally get one of my own until I was an adult. NES is still clearly the king of retro gaming systems in the eyes of collectors and most start out with either the NES or SNES before branching out. But few ever regress to the primitive blips and beeps and jaggy rectangles of Atari. I know. I even followed this mindset for ten years as an active retro gamer... You haven't lived until you owned the complete hybrid animation/live action Super Mario Bros Super Show series on DVD: http://www.amazon.com/Super-Mario-Bros-Show/dp/B000BSZAG0/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1448059463&sr=8-1&keywords=super+mario+bros+super+show The complete series consists of two 4-disc boxed sets, which include several unaired cartoon shorts under bonus materials. Kind of cult classic type material. It's funny how much they got wrong from the games, like inverted color pallets and stuff. The later series based on Super Mario 3 had bad scripting and rubbish animation although Super Mario World from the early 90s was decent. -
I just think it could be misleading since most CX-80s think they're CX-22s. Custom buys the wrong cart / downloads the wrong ROM and thinks their trackball is broken or something. Not every everyone who collects or plays homebrew checks the forums or has a Harmony cart to test their hardware devices with.

whats your rarest 2600 game you have?

Its okay. I could care less if people watermark their collection photos. Anyone seriously thinking of bidding on an unknown auction on eBay can do a reverse image search which will quickly reveal if pics are stolen or not. -

Ah, come on. That's even more than RAM-PONG... -
Yes, I am aware of that. I was referring to building an adapter for it. But I don't have a lot of motivation to mod the hell out of it when all the new hacks that support CX-80 also support CX-22. Although it would be fun to add a USB/MAME encoder. I also ordered an 8-ball from pooldawgs to mod it out! https://www.pooldawg.com/action-single-pool-and-billiard-balls 2.25" regulation billiard balls will fit, right?

Wow that blows... I wondered what happened as I was watching it, got the "ending soon" email but never got the final "got away" notification. Glad to see you sold it after the fact. eBay is so stupid. Ban legit protos and genuine homebrews but let repros and fakes slip by all day long.

The Video Game Homebrew Crash of 2016

How would you know? You were the one that ordered it? -
Haven't seen you in a while. How's it hanging?

Is it really possible to use a pool ball in the trackball controllers? An 8-ball would look so awesome in my CX-80! Are the CX-22 and CX-80 the same size? Also I'm wondering if the pool ball is heavier compared to the stock trackball? I wouldn't want to accelerate the wear of the rollers. EDIT: Just ordered an 8-ball for my CX-80. 2+1/4 inch regulation pool ball, right? I got one helluva deal on mine then! Best offer accepted: $27 + s/h http://www.ebay.com/itm/301785948238 Also I've got a CX-80 (that thinks it's a CX-22) and there are no "dome" switches in mine. Just a gold dot that makes an electrical connection on the circuit board. I guess Atari improved their game during the interim.

Okay, I booted the TESTCART.BIN on my Harmony cart tonight. I can confirm that whatever my CX-80 (which thinks it is a CX-22) is putting out is definitely NOT Gray code. Pity really. I was toying with the idea of wiring a 9-pin Dsub into a USB trackball encoder to use my CX-80 with MAME... 2-bit Gray code goes something like this: 01 11 10 00 My "CX-22" behavior: When I rotate the trackball RIGHT, the UP direction does dark and the DOWN direction flickers. When I rotate the trackball LEFT, the UP direction goes live and the DOWN direction flickers. When I rotate the trackball DOWN, the LEFT direction goes dark and the RIGHT direction flickers. When I rotate the trackball UP, the LEFT direction goes live and the RIGHT direction flickers. So the trackball "CX-22" code it sends to the console looks like 00 01 00 01 going in one direction, and 10 11 10 11 going in the other direction. Thus no amount of rewiring will convert a CX-22 to a CX-80 and visa-versa. Dumb logic won't work to convert it either. You need smart logic that specifically remembers the last state. The cool thing about the CX-22 code, however, is that rapidly spinning the trackball at exactly three times the sample rate will not make the cursor move in reverse like true Gray code will. The trackball works flawless in the homebrew ROMs in TB mode and I can actuate all 8 directions in the test ROM while in JS mode by rotating the trackball in the cardinal directions. So I don't quite understand why the Harmony menu doesn't work well in JS mode when test cart shows the directions operating properly. But I'll take the advice of using SELECT and RESET to navigate. I just hope it doesn't skip the target due to contact bounce. Both my SELECT and RESET switches sparkle on my 2600 when I actuate them. I have a set of NOS replacement switches from best; I just haven't gotten around to installing them yet.

What 2600 titles could/should have Trak-Ball support added?
Andromeda Stardust replied to Lynxpro's topic in Atari 2600
I somehow doubt it. If someone had modded the CX-80 trackballs to function as CX-22, there would likely be only one documented case of a CX-80 acting like a CX-22. Additionally when opened, there would be evidence of modding/tampering. I can confirm mine is 100% stock. I popped the rubber feet off to clean it and it left double sided tape which I had to puncture with a screwdriver. There was still enough adhesive left for me to reapply the feet after I sealed it back up. Albert and others have documented that some CX-80s behave as CX-22s while others behave as ST mice. As for it not behaving well in JS mode, I'm going to investigate the trackball using the testcart ROM on my Harmony. It measures joystick, paddles, and keypad inputs. I should be able to diagnose the behavior of the joystick inputs with the CX-80 trackball in both JS and TB mode. Yes, I do plan on getting a 5200 with trackball controller someday... Having slept on it since last night, I would imagine that the CX53 probably uses a timer delay as digital logic output to the analog paddle lines, then increases or decreases the delay proportional to the tick rate of the trackball optical encoder. Shorter clicks = greater positive or negative delta to the timer delay. I imagine any "dead zones" would be applied by the game logic itself since the 5200 analog joysticks are fairly sloppy, lacking a self centering mechanism. -

Cleaning a landfill cart defeats the purpose of owning one. Yeah put some baking soda in there. That'll kill any odor. -

And us new hats call it gen 2.5. Somebody miscalculated when the whole gen counting became a thing.
