  1. Holy sweet! I'm not even gonna ask how much you paid for the third one...
  2. It gets worse: At this point Rosa is naught more but a whiny Poopyhead who got put to bed without her Hello Kitty crack pipe...
  3. Wow. LOL. Generally when one man (or woman) goes up against an entire army, it does not bode well for the individual.
  4. I thought about getting TG-16 Klax although I already own it for NES, Genesis, Lynx, and soon 7800 (repro) so not really sure if I'm missing anything. The Lynx version is by far the most interesting as you can play it sideways. Can't get past the bass heavy soundtrack on the NES/Tengen one though. Seriously anyone who claims the NES lacks bass should try pumping the title music through their stereo. Lynx and TG-16 both got several arcade ports that seemed to skip other platforms. Pac Land for instance. Played it on my Childhood Lynx but the TG-16 version has the most arcade perfect graphics compared to either Lynx or Famicom.
  5. Yeah just look at this sad story here, also from an Austrailian seller: http://atariage.com/forums/topic/245375-atari-2600-red-sea-crossing-real-or-fake/ People are getting taken to the cleaners but they don't even know it. I looked up sold listings from this seller on eBay. A golden Commodore keyboard sold for some moolah and several cars. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Commodore-64-Goldene-edition-display-computer-from-the-80s-/111810186109?hash=item1a08680b7d:g:DmQAAOSwo0JWL3su So bidding went up to $2550 AUD yet it got relisted. Something fishy going on. I'm no expert on vintage keyboards, but that's a lot of money for something that all we know could have been spray painted.
  6. Out of all of them, I think Air Zonk was the most expensive, but worth it...
  7. Will this be an XM only release, or will it come with Hokey chip standard? I'm not entirely sold on the XM and besides high score cart functionality, two of it's biggest features (Hokey/Pokey and extra RAM) can be added to carts as needed with the advanced CPUWIZ boards. I'd hate for homebrews to be restricted to the "XM owners club" when said hardware could potentially be added to carts for maybe a $5 upcharge. I would easily pay $35 or even $40 for Hokey homebrews.
  8. Sadly shady deals like this happen more often than you think. Newb collector does Google search "rarest game for console X" then searches eBay for similar items. "Ooh, this game normally goes for $5000, but here's one currently selling at $400; what a steal! Gotta snipe this before it gets away!" Joins forum to brag about the deal of a lifetime only find out he/she's been conned...
  9. Looks like NES; Pokey sounds sorta like a Game Boy. Totally digging Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker soundtrack as well. Also clever use of parallax scrolling... Do want!
  10. I just measured a Xonox against two standard Atari shells. There is about 1.5 inches of overlap so it would be a problem for any PCBs that occupy the entire shell. For the record, I don't know what the PCB inside looks like. All the PMP 7800 AA homebrews and CPUWIZ repros look the same to me on the outside. Inside is a game full of retro goodness. Any plans to sell your spares PMP? I'd love to own one.
  11. Cripes! eBay needs to pull the plug on this ASAP.
  12. Okies. I'm not questioning whether the seller had a father / inlaw who passed away or not, just that losing a family member is never a good thing. If someone wanted to make cute little blue PVC T-handled repro carts to sell on Etsy for $50 a pop, I wouldn't have a problem with it. But someone goes on ebay selling them as legit carts, that is douchebaggery.
  13. Lucky you. Sadly I don't have a CD drive but the rare, expensive Hucard releases like Bonk 3 or Magical Chase and imports, I just use my Everdrive. I've been buying up a new game every couple months or so, slowly building my collection over time. I'm also gonna focus my efforts on stuff I can't easily find on other consoles. My TurboChip collection so far: Turbo Everdrive Kieth Courage Pac Land Parasol Stars Bonk's Adventure Bonk's Revenge Air Zonk * Galaga '90 Blazing Lazers (in transit) Alien Crush Devil Crush Time Cruise * * So far all but Air Zonk and Time Cruise I have the manual and case for.
  14. Not sure what your angle is, but there's nothing funny about a person's family member passing away. The issue is not that her dad passed away or had an Atari collection, but Rosa's refusal to admit the Air raid is fake and listing it as genuine to dupe prospective buyers. One of our very own recently got conned out of $700 on a fake Red Sea Crossing repro so it happens, and it makes me a sad panda when collectors get duped.
  15. This. My CX-80 came in today is really a CX-22. I loaded both versions onto my Harmony CX-22 mode moves around fluidly but CX-80 mode just gets small random jitter movements. Now I just need to deep clean the sucker. I'm having a bit of difficulty moving in the upwards direction, possibly gunk on the rollers. I'm out of isopropyl 91% so I'll need to buy some more. Quick question, what do you guys recommend for inspection and cleaning? Should I lube any parts? If so with what? I understand silicone is plastic safe but thought I'd get an opinion from the experts. Also I'm assuming the screw holes for disassembly are under the rubber feet?
  16. Yeah I tried jumping to the left ledge (not visible in the screenshot) but couldn't reach it. Do I need to spin dash to jump up there? I know jump height is proportional to speed, something that takes a bit of getting used to compared to the physics of the original. Nice to finally play it. I also made it to the bonus stages a couple times. How do I collect the emerald?
  17. No kidding. It was like $20 last year when I started collecting for the system: http://videogames.pricecharting.com/game/turbografx-16/blazing-lazers
  18. Maybe a logic buffer would do? A pair of hex inverters could be used in a pinch to buffer the outputs. Op-Amps would also work great as digital signalling device. connect the minus to a voltage divider and the plus to the input. If the plus input is higher than the minus input, the output is driven high, and visa-versa.
  19. This is disgusting. It's up to AU $205 now. These ass-clowns are all bidding far too much for a repro. It may have made a nice conversation piece and impulse buy at $50, $205 not so much, even with the weak Aussie dollar. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/atari-2600-AIR-RAID-GAME-CARTRIDGE-IN-BOX-/111818790477 Reported.
  20. My CIB Zippy arrived from Albert. Been playing it a bit tonight. Neat how Sprybug designed the game to start on a random zone so that people who can't beat it in one go can at least experience more of the game. Anyway, I got stuck in Aqua Zone 2. There is a chasm that's too wide to cross and the ledge on the ceiling is too high to jump on. Need some advice.
  21. I've been through three Lynx consoles. First one, my childhood Lynx got fried when a butty stuck the multitip adapter into the COM Lynx port. Second worked in 2007, dead in 2012. My third works but has audio issues. Every other console I've owned, the original still worked, even second hand. I also had an N64 Power supply go bad. After 20-30 minutes of play, the game would start to reset. I checked the 3.3V signal from the controller port with my multimeter. It would slowly droop as the console warmed up until the CPU crashed around 2.9V. A simple trip to the used game store for an OEM used 1st party power brick and it was trouble free ever since. As for NES, prior to going through several connector replacements until ultimately installing the BLW, back in the day, I just left the Game Genie shoved in 100% of the time and my games worked about 95% with the Genie, 5% without it. Oh yeah, I laughed my ass off with the RROD debacle with Microsoft Xbox 360. Never bought an MS console; never will.
  22. Pacman 320 PK / Ms Pacman 320 PK - Maybe there's a way to share a single Pokey chip between both ends...
