  1. ^^Nice! I also noticed someone has already bid on this so it's too late to pull the auction this time around. Should we report it? I actually entertained the thought of bidding. $50 AUD is not bad considering the US Dollar is high right now. I have no idea what shipping is though. This would be a fun shelf piece for someone due to it's controversial history, even if it's faker than Dolly Parton's rack.
  2. https://atariage.com/store/index.php?l=product_detail&p=872
  3. Sorry to hear you let the magic blue smoke escape... I am almost considering at this point just parting with my Lynx collection as opposed to trying to fix these things or buy replacements...
  4. Added boxed copies of Zippy and Star Castle to my list. They should be available in the store soon for non-subscribers.
  5. "This listing was ended by the seller because the item is no longer available." How ironic. That's one fugly paint job!
  6. A standard Power receptacle is rated to supply up to 15 amps. Most home branch circuits are 15 amps and share several outlets. Kitchens typically use a 20 amp branch and have dedicated circuits for the oven and stove. That said, most consoles only pull a few watts of power. 1st generation PS3 and 360 as well as Xbone and PS4 pull as much as a modern PC, but generally most retro consoles don't pull much. Your TV may be up to 100 or so depending on size. CRTs pull more watts than a flat panel. So you're not overloading your outlet by daisy chaining power strips for small wall warts that mostly sit idle. Unless something is faulty, you shouldn't be tripping the breakers in your surge strip or breaker box. Assume the TV pulled 100 watts, and each game console pulled ten. You would need to be running more than a hundred consoles at that rate to trip the breaker based on current draw. By comparison, running a hair dryer and microwave oven simultaneously could trip a 15 amp breaker. Game systems, not so much. Ruling out the equipment connected to the outlet, the issue may be external to the grid or in your homes wiring. I would definitely get it checked by an electrician. You don't want arcing anywhere in your homes wiring to start a fire and lose all your worldly posessions or put your family lives at risk.
  7. Even though it was fake, I like the effort put into creating the T-handle. It has it's charm. But if I paid $500, I'd sure as hell try to get my money back...
  8. Agree with your entire post, just replace "emulation" with flash carts. The only emulation I do is on my Raspberry Pi MAME bartop because there's no way to play these games without emulation or a huge budget and a giant garage.
  9. So I guess playing on an AV Famicom would cause the same mic issues as NES...
  10. Did they leave that code in the US version? I heard there was some way to defeat the enemies with the mic using an adapter with an original Famicom instead of slashing at them. Also Zelda had a cart release in Japan as well so they may have left the code in when they localized it for US.
  11. Well at least the first few levels of Ninja Gaidan are playable. I rarely play games to completion anyway so I can still get enjoyment out them even if the second-to-last stage or final boss is virtually impossible without cheats or save states. Even the AVGN had to use a Genie to reach the latter stages of the game in his review.
  12. Is Zelda FDS not beatable without the microphone? That would make it incompatible with AV Famicom.
  13. There's definitely too much pink in the Proto for sure. Nice mockups.
  14. Yes it does. I'm still in awe how the black dots somehow became white. I still need to examine this sprite on my 7800 and the other TVs.
  15. Yeah Sirius needs some work. Get rid of those tiny asteroids on the first stage that are no bigger than bullets. Or remove the collision and make them background elements. I keep colliding with the peanut sized asteroids and dying. Also my Plutos EPROM went bad and had to send it back to CPUWIZ. Plutos was much more playable IMO.
  16. Nice and welcome to the forums. I too have a decent collection of Everdrives and flash carts. ED N8 (Famicom) Super Everdrive v2 with DSP1 installed. Everdrive MD v3 Turbo ED v1.2 ED 64 v3 GB Everdrive NES PowerPak Harmony (old version) Currently I am waiting for: Harmony Concerto (7800) GBA Everdrive (Krikzz is rumored to be working on one)
  17. Confirmed fake. See also this post: http://atariage.com/forums/topic/245300-air-raid-boxed-atari-2600-sells-for-500/?p=3361663
  18. Anyone who has ever experienced controller-breaking rage will know the feeling of playing bad games...
  19. I'm down for the Save Key support in any game that wants to use it. I need more excuses to pull out my AtariVox. Would it only store one score or would each fruit get it's own score? If you can slug through a few key stages and get lucky with the fruit, it boost the score a lot. Also I'm aware the strawberries are not multicolor, but they sure look that way using RF on a CRT screen...
  20. For the record, I only downloaded the ROMs from the first post. I have a CX-80 trackball on the way but I don't yet know which encoding standard it is. Is there a CX-80 variant of the Conony-7 ROM? This. I do a lot of web browsing on the Wii-U browser. I am on my PC right now and downloaded the ROM. Here's hoping it works with my Trackball. Is it possible to make pin adapters to convert between CX-22 andCX-80 or do I need some digital logic conversion?
  21. Yup. That's how I made mine, sans the blue paint. It's just a fridge magnet from the AA store. http://atariage.com/forums/uploads/monthly_10_2012/post-33189-0-50137100-1351354690.jpg I think we can put this rumor of the Aussie Air Raid to bed now. Both the seller and the back door buyer got what they deserved.
  22. Minor correction. There is no wifi or network port on the AVS. I kinda wish they had an ethernet option instead of requiring me to have my PC or laptop running in order to record scores. N-Age account required to record scores online. Another pro you forgot to add is the AVS has cores for both PAL and NTSC NES so feel free to play games from any region at proper speed with zero glitches. My ASUS monitor displays 720p 50Hz no problem. Also the wireless controllers have a transmitter dongle that plugs into the AVS so they can also be used on a real Nintendo. The AVS console itself has no wireless features. Seriously, who cares about the Famicom Microphone? That 2nd controller mic was a POS anyway and very few games utilized it. And just play the NES Zelda release.
  23. This sure is impressive. Maybe someone can use your new "bus stuffing" display kernel to redo the Bad Apple ROM at 160x192 instead of the blocky 40x whatever the current one uses. A powerful ARM decompression system could also be used during Vblank to fetch the screen buffer instead of the weak RLE algorithm the original used. I wonder if there's enough write cycles left over to add 15khz audio a 192x160 display kernel way Pitfall II does. You say 24 does not divide evenly into 160. If necessary you could truncate the screen by 8 pixels on either side and use a 144 pixel display kernel flickered at 30hz. That would basically be like having 3 48 pixel displays back to back.
