This may be a dumb question but If I want to put an SIO2SD board inside one of my Atari computers, do I just wire directly to the correct SIO leg on the backside of the connector itself or do I need to do something else? Will I still be able to use an external SIO peripheral if I do install this internally? Thanks

Looks good so far. The 1200xl does not have BASIC built-in so you’ll probably want to pick up a basic cartridge. There is a lot of software available online but you’ll need a way of getting It off your PC and onto the Atari, for that I would recommend a SD2SIO device (something like this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/ATARI-SIO2SD-VB-Disk-Drive-Emulation-SD-Card-SIO-plug-and-cable-READY-TO-USE/172525181341?_trksid=p2045573.c100507.m3226&_trkparms=aid%3D555017%26algo%3DPL.CASSINI%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20150817211758%26meid%3Da84b7efe281149f38c88408099412795%26pid%3D100507%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D1%26) which uses SD cards (think Atari’s version of the SD2IEC ) or you can head over to AtariMax and pick up a SIO2PC which allows you to hook up your Atari to your computer using the PC's USB port and use host software such as AtariMax's excellent APE program. This method gives some additional perks like the emutated peripherals (as well as emulated disk drives) but requires your 1200xl to be tethered to a PC.

I'd like to reiterate my desire to purchase two or more of these as soon as they are available. Thanks.

2017 Flashback FAQ and Speculation Thread
917k replied to Flojomojo's topic in AtGames Flashback and Portable Consoles
Thinking about the new platforms... the Sega Master System, Arcade, and TG16 seem the most likely to me. Looking forward to an announcement. I do wish they would have improved the Colecovision's crappy controller though, I loved the system but hated the stubby joystick. Same goes for the Intellivision, great system but hated that damn control disc. -
CocoSDC SD card adapter cartridge command reference

Please PM me if you have a CoCoSDC available to sell. Thanks. -
I was wondering why not just use the standard 10-pin IDC JTAG connector? The USB Blaster (which you need to update the firmware anyway) already includes with this cable. It seems Micro-Match connectors are not very common here in the U.S.

I am interested in a couple as well. Thanks

Developers/testing required for mini-itx clone system - ÉclaireXL
917k replied to foft's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
Hi Foft, Your Atari 8-bit core for the MiST (which I am guessing you will be using for this project) uses the European type keyboard for the key layout which places the 4-key cursor cluster directly to the left of the ENTER key using: [ { = ↑ } ] = ↓ ' @ = ← # ` = → The problem is U.S. keyboards have ; : and ' " in the place of '@ and #` which make using the ←→ cursor keys a problem. Could you possibly look into this? changes: ; : = ← ' " = → Also, any chance of making the actual keyboard cursor keys functional? Thank you. Steve -
Sweet!

Developers/testing required for mini-itx clone system - ÉclaireXL

Okay, well I don't know him but I took a shot and PM'd Sebastian anyway (only contact method I am aware of for him). Hopefully he will see the PM and join the discussion and view our request favorably. I think this is a great way to get VBXE out there in the hands of more people, especially those folks who are not able to do the mod themselves. Altira has support for it so maybe we might have a shot... -
This looks really cool, would love to put one of these together someday.
-
Oh yes, I am looking for the actual board but thank you for the heads up anyway.

I would be down for 1 or 2 of these when finished. Any chance of including VBXE support? -
Comprehensive list of Atari 8-bit Arcade Conversions?
917k replied to Fletch's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
Here's a few more games I consider being "close enough" to call clones... Axis Assassin (Tempest) Fortune Hunter (Venture) Arena (Robotron) Galactic Chase (Galaxian) Star Island (Star Castle) Jawbreaker (Pac-Man) Clowns & Balloons (Clowns) Princess and the Frog (Frogger) Pinhead (Kick/Kick Man) Drop Zone (Defender) Airstrike/Airstrike II (Scramble) Baja Buggies (Pole Position) Encounter (Battlezone) Flak (Xevious) Ghost Hunter (Pac-Man) Gridrunner (Centipede) Juice! (Q*Bert) Pogo Joe (Q*Bert) Kid Grid (Amidar) K-Razy Shootout (Berzerk) Megalegs (Centipede) Mr. Cool (Q*Bert) Mr. Dig (Mr. Do) Ardy the Aardvark (Anteater) Activision Decathalon (Track & Field) King Tut's Tomb (Tutankhamun) Swamp Chomp (Frogger) There are other games like Shamus, Pitstop, Into the Eagle's Nest, and Preppie that are clearly inspired by arcade games but I think were different enough to stand on their own. -
I'd like one assembled unit please (USA). Thank you.
-
Will this be offered later in your store? Also, your SSL certificate seems to be expired.
-
Very nice, thank you!
-
I'd like to pick up one or more of these, will there be another run? If anybody has one they'd like to sell in the meantime, please PM me. Thank you.

I'd be interested in at least 1, probably 2. Thank you for doing this!

I remember when it came out (it along with Pick Axe Pete!, UFO!, and Quest for the Rings) that it really made people take another look at the Odyssey2, it did generate a fair amount of buzz at the time. I remember thinking how much better it looked and played compared to the lame version of Pac-Man Atari released for the VCS. It was one of the few games (along with titles those I mentioned earlier) that made me jealous of that one kid in the neighborhood who had an O2. It was definitely one of the O2's killer apps. I also recall hearing at the time about the lawsuit brought against it by Atari and I thought that was pretty lame.

I've collected these in the past but I think I am done buying these until an HDMI version is released. I'll be picking up the NES this year though.
