  1. Ok heres my question to everyone it may have been discussed before but here it goes. reproduction like real sports basketball or bugs bunny couldnt they really be classified as small quanity first runs.the games were only ever avaliable in proto types which means they were never actually avaliable to the consumer market. a reproduction to me would be if someone started remaking waterworld and started selling them. kind of like marx rockem sockem robots they were made in 1966 and sold into the mid 70s then year before last they made reproduction sets that are on sale today. hence forth wouldnt any of the games that only exist in protypes that get put out in limited quanties be actually first runs of the game only diffrence that the first runs happened 20 years late.

  2. I know this was asked not to long ago but has anyone heard if any copies of looping will be alvalible to buy anywhere. just dont want to miss a chance to get a copy

  3. I won an auction for 8 atari games and the book type holder, couldnt weigh more than 3 pounds.10.80 was winning bid games were just common combat etc,I mainly just wanted the holder .The seller sends me atotal with shipping 27.oo. 17.00 for shipping you got to be kidding.I sent them back a email stating the shipping was very unreasonable, that I have always paid for all my wins but 17.00 was redicilous .I just sent a complete sega system across the us for 8.00 .this item is in a neighboring state and even with a handling fee of 5.00 couldnt cost more than 10.00 to ship. If they dont lower the shipping what would you do. I have always paid for ever auction I have won and got great feedback as a buyer and as a seller only one neg as a seller and that was a bogus neg from unpleasable person over a dollar item. I am seriously thinking about just taking a negitive non buyer feedback just because I belive that shipping that high is just plain extorhtion. what you all think.

  4. I know I dont post many messages and havent been a member here for very long although I have been coming to the site for a while. There's just one thought that has had me wondering for a while but I think to myself its not my business I shouldn't even say anything but I cant help myself. What it is. how in the world can some afford to spend all the money on atari stuff that gets spent.I understand that a few do it as a living and some may be wealthy but I myself like collecting as much as the next guy but I got bills to pay car payment ,house payment ,feeding a family, braces ,doctor bills , although I am no Bill Gates ,I do make a comfrontable living but to spend 300 on quadrun I would just have to save a little here and there for a while to even think about it.So I guess what Iam asking is how do you all do it. :? How can one spend thousands on atari stuff monthly and still afford to survive those combats tapes just cant be to filling

  5. Went to the flea market saturday after getting a late start ( wife just doesnt see the point of getting there early but insists on going) upon arriving I see an individual unloading a super large box of nintendo stuff into his car he had just bought.along with some other misc stuff. At which point I remind my wife why you have to be early. So after walking thru the flea market and finding nothing left I turned to yard sales after spending another 6 hours finding nothing at any yard sales I decided to call it a day when we saw a small little one person flea market. As we looked thru the stuff I found a table with some atari games on it so me and the wife started looking thru them. Pac man pac man combat combat you know the drill when all the sudden my wife says Crazy climber .I just about fell over I couldnt belive it. I know its not a 10 but to find crazy climber in the wild sure made my day.and to top it off the label is in great shape and it also played.and I got it for two dollars whooo hooo. guess there is still some hope of finding some good games in the wild. :P

  6. On the topic of the xante games.I know that the games are very rare and probally only found in areas where the stores that had the machines to make the games are But my question is should the xante games be individualy listed on the rarity guide or just simply any xante game would be a rarity 10. If someone had pac man put on an xante cart and it was the only one ever made there would be no way that any more than one person could ever own a xante pac man. Because ( and this is just my opinion so dont beat up on me to bad) if you list each xante game individually as their found Like xante pac man. xante glib xante missile command for example ,shouldnt then any 2600 game found thats one of a kind be on the 10 list. Its not that the game its self that is rare its thats fact that the game is programed on the unique blue xante cart that makes it rare. Theres always a chance that someone can find a xante game in the wild or maybe on ebay but to list them individually really doesnt give anyone else a chance to own that certian game. as super rare as air raid is there is always a chance someone might stumble across one .but just like xante solar storm on the list it may be the only solar storm ever made.I dont want anyone to think im trying to say xante games arent desreving a 10 rating which I think they are I just dont think listing them individually is really fair.Just my opinion. ANY THOUGHTS.

  7. I think collecting is fun and (for me) kind of fun searching for games trying to complete a collection. other than one day getting a quadrun crazy climber or waterworld I dont plan on paying big bucks for eli s ladder and so on. I think the reason atari and other 70s toys are so big is that it was a better time.Atari games have been around a long time compared to the new games play station etc. Things from the 70s were just made better and remind us of our childhood. I can relate to what someone said that collecting wasnt the same since he and his friends grew up and kids have also grown up.I was crazy about whitetail deer hunting then when my dad passed away It just wasnt as fun as before an I kind of lost interest. But I was glad I didnt end up getting rid of my hunting stuff because now my son has started to take an intrest in hunting so it has become enjoyable again. I also see guys I work with go out on the weekends and spend 300.00 dollars on strip clubs and booze and have nothing to show for their money on monday morning but maybe a hang over and a veneral diease :ponder: .so in my own opinion I think collecting is a fun healthy hobby. taking into consideration your not spending your rent money or going hungry trying to collect all the 10s. plus who knows maybe your great grand children will sell your collections an be millionaires ;) ......

  8. Ive been really hooked on this crazy hunt for the holy grail. ive been out bright and early every friday and saturday since may searching every sale I can find ,stopping at each one with great anticipation of what might be. My wife thinks I am crazy but the hunt is almost as fun as finding something.I have had some luck finding an atari 7800 pro system in mint condition with games nothing rare for 5.00 dollars..A intellivision system mint with 6 games for 2.00 dollars..Atari 2600 with 12 games for 2.00 dollars.and several nes nintendo systems for 5.00 dollars. So with summer just starting Its back to the hunt this weekend. Who knows there might be a eli s ladder hiding out there somewhere I just need to dig in the right spot.

  9. If the seller doesnt put the shipping amount in the description or on the main page I just wont bid on it.even if its a game I really want. nobody forces anyone to bid on anything if the shipping is to high dont bid. I always figure shipping into the amount I am willing to spend if I see beany bopper lets say and I dont want to go more than 8 dollars and shipping is 4.00 I ll bid 4 dollars and no more. I just paid 60.00 shipping for two 2600 systems and 50 games but I was willing to pay 150.00 to win the auction. so my winning bid was 65.00 plus 60.00 shipping came to 125.00 so in my mind I saved 25 dollars. Was a gravitar in the group of games and I really had to have it. :D

  10. garage sales can be frustrating but I had some great luck this weeked picked up a 4 switch vader a 6 switch sears and a six switch heavy sixer and 20 games for 30.00 dollars also found a merlin and blip for 50 cents.a game boy for 1.00 dollar and a weeble tree house :P . but I have also had six diffrent people tell me they have an atari and games in the attic so I left my number but no call backs so far.I am convinced that there are more games and systems sitting in basements and attics then anyone would belive. ;)

  11. guess its a good way to win auctions.but it also seems that once people figure out who is using the snipe program they could really use it to their advantage to get max prices for their auctions. I once accidently put a max bid at 2.500.00 dollars really only wanting to bid 25.00 got lucky and only ended up paying 32.00 dollars for winning bid. E bay has got so big that its hard just to get someone to answer you back let alone Ebay being able to catch all the people who have other members bid on their stuff to run up the bids.

  12. So if someone is using the snipe program it automaticaly bids 50 cents or a dollar higher than top bid. so if someone is using this program and I bid 500 dollars for an et game the snipe program will bid 501 for the snipe bidder. ;)
