Online Atari sale ... didn't go as planned.
Cambouis de l'Atari replied to awhite2600's topic in Atari 2600
Yes, back in 80's it was common for us (belgium and france) to say "cassette atari", even if today I only use the term "cartouche" (cartridge). Here's a page from the first issue of a french mag which is self explanatory -

Nope, unless you use some kind of capture device, you can't use your laptop screen for anything else than your computer.

Well actually I always assumed it was a pal version. But thank to Nukey Shay I now have a certitude On the back of the box I indeed have the Texas address, but also a London address.

But no need to be a top handyman to do that ! Just a screwdriver needed. The most difficult part imho is to find a new TIA
-
Well, if your space is indeed limited, best would be to give it to another retro gamer, and maybe try to find a smaller one, a 14" for example, to keep the crt feel ?

Maybe the tv channel isn't exactly the same on the two consoles ? Did you try to fine tune your tv ?

Mountain King advertisement has low charisma
Cambouis de l'Atari replied to Flojomojo's topic in Atari 2600
That's the principle of advertising, get your attention. And at that time where a game was not just about graphics, a nice artwork is more catchy. I love the Infocom's one ! Even more obvious for them as they mostly don't have graphics to show -
You maybe forget to shift the gear ?

You need to pass a certain amount of cars to reach the next race, that amount is displayed. Here is the manual : http://atariage.com/manual_thumbs.php?SoftwareLabelID=163

Is RETROPIE the end of real Atari gaming?
Cambouis de l'Atari replied to alortegac's topic in Atari 2600
These cheap things are just crap ! For portable emulation, you should get a real PSP, it's really a neat machine for, and there are plenty of tutorials to help you build it. -
Is RETROPIE the end of real Atari gaming?
Cambouis de l'Atari replied to alortegac's topic in Atari 2600
Nope ! Is the atari flashback the end of real hardware ? It's 20 years I own a PC that can run emulators, but nothing compares to the real thing ! The feeling of the cx40, of inserting a cartridge, to watch rounded pixels on my old crt, for all these things real hardware is important. Even my harmony cart doesn't prevent me to buy real carts ! Nor my rasp pi inside an out of order junior would https://cambouisdelatari.wordpress.com/2016/04/28/la-2600jr-passe-a-3-14-voici-la-pi-junior/ -
Question about Instruction Manuals (old vs. new?)
Cambouis de l'Atari replied to NuAngel's topic in Atari 2600
All the international manuals I own only show these 5 languages, no sixth one ! About the dutch, there is sometimes a simple black and white page text (courier) only.
