  1. I wonder if that program is out on the Internet somewhere or if anyone knows Bob, would be nice to add to the Coleco Library.
  2. Keep going, that looks great!!! So is it too much to ask for expansion support =P
  3. I just bought four items from Topdog and the experience was great!!! Fast shipping and wonderful to deal with!
  4. Awesome, Thanks! Digging around now for my transfer cable!
  5. Thanks for the update! I was looking over the Internet for the Adam Demonstration Cart by Coleci and not being very lucky, anyone have a link I can use? Luckily I do have the 128 in 1 cartage! Craig
  6. Hello everyone! I have my Adam up and running next to my main Windows computer and l love it turned on. However, not much is going on. I was wondering if anyone knows a program like a screen saver I can run? Right now I am using Fortune Builder as it has a small demo. Thanks ahead of time! Craig
  7. Rey, I just saw this!!! I hope things work out well! Sorry to hear these bad things happening to such a great guy!
  8. Yurkie, Have you tested this out with the 2600 adapter? I doubt it will work since it does not with my F18A modded Adam, but I thought I would ask anyways. Thanks!
  9. Thanks for the responses! Dmitry, that is what I want to do my Adam soon (program), I am looking to move soon, so it will be after that, but I really do love that system. Atari 800XL with VBXE card sounds like the way to go. I was doing some more research and what does everyone think of the 130XE, that was the last 8-bit computer from Atari correct? They are a little cheaper on ebay (blah) and if they are move powerful or better to upgrade, maybe that would be the way to go? Paul, thank you for pointing me to your website now, I am looking at what you have to offer!
  10. Hello everyone! I am a regular to the Colecovision Adam (the computer I grew up on) here at AtariAge, but now I am looking into getting into the Atari Computer side of the house after collecting for the 2600 and just getting done with the book Atari - Business is fun (wondering if Business is War will ever come out =/) I have been doing some research but I thought I would ask the experts on their opinion of what I should look for. As of now, I am between the Atari 800 and the Atari XL Series. While I never had an Atari Computer when I grew up, I knew a few kids that had the 400/800, never even seen the XL version though. It would be nice if someone can also point me to any upgrades (modern) to these computers as with my Adam, I have modded it so it runs on my 4K TV. It would be nice to do the same here. My basic ideas is to learn the system, play games, and learn some programming possibly. Thanks ahead of time!
  11. Haya all, I was looking around eBay for colecovision stuff and noticed this? I think I have been pretty good at reading the history of Coleco and seeing what was out there but this is the first time I have ever heard of this box: http://www.ebay.com/itm/162065689489?_trksid=p2060353.m1431.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT Can anyone confirm this is the real deal (at least history wise). Thanks!
  12. Hay all...so I am trying to center my Vectrex (if you are looking at the screen, it is too low and to far to the left). I have tried to adjust the centering magnets but they will not budge. I'm a little worried about pushing to hard so before I went any where else I thought I would see if anyone here has suggestions on the best way to adjust them. Thanks!
  13. Question everyone: I have a TurboDuo (US version) and I really think I am having an issue with the plug because there is a slight amount of what I would call "peeling" of the silver part of the plug that goes into the console. In the past I would be able to adjust it so the power would come on but I think that time is pass and I am unable to get it running today. I looked on eBay and most of the power bricks were in the $70.00+ range (!) Can anyone point me to a cheaper alternative out there that works just as well? Thanks!
  14. I bought a few games from Jin, I can vouch that the transaction went perfectly and it was a joy to work with him! Fast shipping, good price, packaged well, and the games looked awesome (and played great). Would buy again without a doubt!
  15. Prices are steadily going up, I bought mine around a year and a half ago for $250.00 (including shipping) with a near perfect box and all the packing. The only complaint I had was the inlay for Minesweeper has a one inch crack in it (I knew this when I got it). I have noticed the prices have gone up where a Vectrex without the box (or much of anything) is going for that same $250.00. I think looking for a Vectrex for $100.00 - $150.00 will be longer process only because the shipping can be crazy (they are heavy). Honestly I think I got lucky when I got mine from eBay. Good Luck! Vectrex is one of my favorite systems to collect for!
  16. Sorry Yurkie for getting back late to you on this, I play this in 4:3, I have not even tried to streak it to 16:9 as I am very happy with 4:3
  17. Hello everyone and happy Saturday! I know the title is “slightly” misleading, however, I thought it would be nice to share with you all how my Adam is running on a 4K LG TV at 480p at 60Hz. Before I start though, I took some pictures to show how the screen looks, unfortunately the pictures do not do justice on how incredibly crisp the graphics are. Take my word on it though, it is bar none the cleanest display I have ever seen for an Adam Computer. Since the TV also supports passive 3D (comes with two glasses) I tried them out (and so did my daughter) and it was actually pretty awesome. I know, I didn’t think it would work, and honestly, I have no idea how it does, but when you turn on 3D with the glasses on, any game on the Adam goes 3D. Burgertime in 3D is amazing! Also, I like the idea of running my retro games on a 4K monitor, I have a Sega Dreamcast running great on it also with the same configuration with one additional mod that I will go over later. So here are the parts I used to get this display: Adam computer modded with the F18A video mod (Thanks rey_1178) Etekcity® Mini 1080P VGA to HDMI Converter Adapter (Amazon) LG Electronics 49UB8500 49-Inch 4K Ultra HD 120Hz 3D Smart LED TV (2014 Model) (Amazon) HDMI Cable (don’t need a 2.0 or anything like that) 3.5mm Audio Cable adapter to plug into the back of the Adam (for the F18A Video mod) If you look at the Adam screen with the printer up, you can see the settings to the top right for verification. Rey_1178 was a huge help in everything here, I have been playing with this for a few weeks now and wanted to get this up before but just didn’t have the time. It’s nice to have all these mods to the Adam (also have rey_1178 power supply) and it makes it easy to play my old games on new output devices. It’s great to play these games with the kiddos!
  18. Blah, sorry for the confusion, you are correct of course, I meant for the games. Which I will be buying a bunch of in the near future =)
  19. Hay everyone, I wanted to touch base with you all again and let you know that I tested the sound with the SGM, the Atari 2600 Expansion Module #1 did not work at all but I can confirm that the SGM that Team Pixelboy (http://teampixelboy.com/) sells works great with sound. Again, if you have the cash, the F18A mod is the best mod you can do for your Adam hands down. Get the new power supply that Rey does also and it feels like a new computer!
  20. Parrothead, Did you get my order? I sent it via paypal and it was billed, when I sent you a message you never responded. I bought 1 Console Shell ($45) and Cart Shell (8$) on March 14th Let me know! Thanks!
  21. NIAD, Please see the picture of the cartage I have, will the SGM Test Utility work with it? If so do you know where I can grab a copy? Thanks!
  22. NIAD, You know, I have the SGM but no games yet...what is wrong with me =( I need to get a game and let you know if it works...that is a very good question. By the way, I have told you before but I love your setup. I really need to find myself some disk drives!
  23. Hello everyone! I just wanted everyone to know I have been working with rey_1178 and received my Adam back on Friday, after playing with it from two days, I wanted everyone to know how my mods went. As the title went over, I had three mods done completed: The new Power Supply – I received a discount since I already owned the first version (Black) F18A Video and Sound Update Internal Power for the IDE interface for the SD Card Hard Drive Again, to start this off, before any mods were done, rey_1178 is a great guy, he is very quick to get back to me and is very informative. Just from the professionalism alone, one does not have to worry about doing business with him. Lastly, the work was done in a reasonable time and I always knew how things were going with my Adam. Power Supply Ver 2.0: I have attached pictures of the new power supply to this post, you can see the sizes and how much better the new power supply is, if you read my post on the Black Power Supply, It was well made, but there were some requests I put there incase rey_1178 decided to do a version 2.0. Well he has and all the hopes I had from last versions made it into the new one!!! The review on the Black Power Supply is here: http://atariage.com/forums/topic/225861-coleco-adam-power-supply/page-5 It’s so much small and quieter, if you do not have the monitor on, you would think it was off (we’ll except for the red light that is showing). The shell of the new power supply is well made also, not some cheap plastic, it looks like it was made from Coleco. F18A video mod: If you do not know what this is, then please see this post: http://atariage.com/forums/topic/202406-f18a-adam-adpater-and-case-mod/ I knew the video would be better, but holly $hit is better (and I have two Yurkie modded Colecovisions). I don’t think there is physically any better way to get video from your Adam computer onto a new monitor. The colors pop and all the graphics are sharp. I tried to look for colors that did not match but I could not find anything. To me this is a no brainer, however, I did not know this (and rey_1178 did not either), that is you do this F18A mod, know you will lose the ability to use the Expansion module #1 (Atari 2600 expansion). I have to be honest, I was bummed since I was excited to use my Harmony Encore Cartridge on it and get graphics as nice as the Adam for the Atari 2600. Alas, it was not meant to be. While this is not a deal breaker and if I had to do this again I would, it was a bummer none-the-less. The install looked great also, well done and solid. IDE interface internal Power: The final mod was the SD Card Reader IDE Interface card. If you don’t know what it is, it’s sold at: http://ann.hollowdreams.com/adamsupplies.html (middle of the page) Basically, you get all the Coleco Adam software on one SD Card that is read off an customer made IDE card. It makes running and starting programs very fast, plus you don’t have to have all the software out. You simply boot up your Adam with a Tape with the boot info, and then you’re off! However, the power supply is rather large and sits outside the case. Not as elegant as one would hope for. rey_1178 was able to mod my Adam though so now I draw power internally! Please see the pictures and you can see how this cuts down on wires and power. Closing Statement: I am sorry if I am long winded, I do think it is warranted because this is such a great service. I love my Adam and like to use it a bit, however, age makes it an issues at times and before this mod, especially the video. The power supply is great, if you are using your printer still, I strongly recommend you thinking of investing in the new supply, I have two printers and neither of them worked well and were slow (and worse, I never printed on them). It’s also looks like a product made from Coleco, great work. Look at the pictures, again, I cannot recommend rey_1178 enough!
