  1. Mine are: 1. Turbo Duo 2. Turbo Express 3. Coleco Vision (This is rare to me since its a YurkiVision)
  2. Thanks guys, since I am still new collecting (still kicking myself for getting rid of all my Coleco Vision / Atari 2600 and Turbo Grafx stuff when I was younger). I am really focusing on those items to play, not really resale. I do see that happening though as I get duplicates or things. Once I hit a critical mass I guess my costs will lower (or go higher as I buy up all the common items).
  3. well it's true it's a percent of how much you make...I'm just looking at it spend wise. $250 is not a large percent for me but money is still money and since I am new to collecting I was just trying to gauge myself to others...I suppose just starting its natural to go a little crazy. I am trying to get good deals so that helps. Craigslist is my first place I go...then this site...then finally eBay
  4. Hi everyone! When I started collecting retro games (namely all the consoles and Turbo Grapfx/Coleco Vision games), I put my limit of spending at around $100.00 a month (my wife's limit to me). What I really have been spending is around $250.00 a month and that's with me resisting spending more big time. While I can afford this, I always wonder if that's a lot to the average collector here. So my question to everyone is what is your "normal" allowance for retro gaming? I guess I want to see where I am to others with the same hobbie. Thanks!
  5. Welcome back, always nice to see a new person!
  6. I am going back and forth on my Coleco Vision on how I want to collect. I am thinking of going with all boxes but, of course, this is more money. The other thing I can do is find someone that sells Coleco Vision Game Plastic Enclosure's like they make for other game system then print off my own covers from http://www.colecoboxart.com. Then just find very good game cartages (with manuals and game inlays) Anyone have an opinion on that? Also, anyone know where to by a Plastic Enclosures? I am having no luck. Thanks!
  7. That's good to know jtoubeaux, I will have to open the joystick up today and see about cleaning it out. Also, I received my new face plate best-electronics-com but I have removed the old one. Anyone do this before? When I talked to the guys at best-electronics-com they told me to take a hair dryer to the current faceplate to heat up the glue. Even though the current faceplate is coming off, the parts that are still on is like concrete. Once I have that done, the last thing I need is a back flap where the controllers go. While mine is still "working" you can see someone broke it and re-glued it. They did a good job actually but I would rather have one that was not broken then fixed. best-electronics-com is out of that part so if anyone has one laying around, send me a PM and I'll make an offer. Thanks!
  8. The only connection I had with the 5200 was when I was young, my next door neighbor had one, I had a Coleco Vision at the time so I was amazed in the graphics of Pac-Man and I played the heck out of it. I don't recall complaining about the joystick. Before then and actually after that, until I got into Retro, I never heard of the 5200 anywhere.
  9. Hello everyone, I just got into retro gaming a few months ago but I have been playing games since i was a kid playing my Atari 2600. I want to focus on the consoles first then get games for them. I have a bunch of games though. At the end of the day I am going to focus on games for my Colecovision (I bought a YurkieVision!!!), TurbroDuo, Dreamcast, and Atari items (5200 and Jaguar mostly). Currently I have: 1. Atari 5200 2. Atari 7800 3. Atari Jaguar (No CD) 4. Sega Genesis (Model 1) 5. Sega Dreacast 6. PS2 7. PS3 8. Nintendo Gamecube 9. Nintendo SNES 10. Nintendo WII With my setup, I work from home and I have six 24 inch AOC monitors, they have VGA and HDMI connections, I have a ATI Eyefinity (6 screen edition) so I can run Windows 8 on all of them at once. I have converter boxes for all my consoles do depending on what monitor I have a console on, the converter box supports VGA or HDMI. You can see the middle right monitor running my TurboDuo in the picture. It's pretty cool to have 5 consoles running on them at the same time (the bottom left screen is always a computer screen, I might change that latter.) I hope you like my setup and look forward to being a participant in the community. Thanks!
  10. Yes...their site has something to be desired. I got my new metal face plate and a new power supply (oh...shiny). The 5200 works great! kamakazi, I only got one joystick with the unit and it works...kinda...during my play this weekend, I notice the fire button working only 75% of the time. I think things are dirty so I will pull it apart tonight and clean it...see how it works after.. Once I get the console up 100%, I will buy one of those gold joysticks... Now I just have to find a S-Video or component mod
  11. Awesome! I love looking at other peoples Colecovision collections...very nice setup!
  12. While your pictures are much better then mine RedRaider, here is my YurkiVision I got just a few weeks ago It's my work computer (I work from home), so it's nice to take a break for a few minutes, Actually all 6 screens go to windows 8, but I change them over when I want to play something, basically all 6 screens can change over to a console I have. I Love my YurkiVision, I had an Atari 2600 and then the Coleovision, I love this system and I love how Yurki updated the console and cleaned it up, worth the money!
  13. The person I was buying all that stuff from wanted $150.00, so ya...after looking up some of the games, I think I did really well. Also, thanks for pointing me to http://www.best-electronics-ca.com, I bought a power supply ($15.00) and a metal bezel ($12.00), the only thing they did not have was the back flap that you store the joysticks in. Mine works but you can see there was a crack in it and it was fixed somehow. Best Electronics sell those Gold certified Atari 5200 Joysticks and the person I was talking to told me about them, that might be a near future purchase, anyone buy one of them yet? Also, they were really nice guys...I would buy from them again without hesitation.
  14. Hello everyone! I just picked up a Atari 5200 from craigslist for $75.00, which I think is a good price (see pics). One thing the console is missing is a power supply. Anyone recommend one, or selling one, please let me know. The Atari 5200 is the two port one so I am not 100% there is any difference. The other issue is the faceplate is really banged up...on the left hand side its actually coming off the console. Anyone know have to fix this or where I can get a new one? Besides that I think I good deal. Thanks!
  15. I'm in....just point me to the PayPal link. Thanks!

  17. Hello everyone! I have a Atari Jaguar but only the TV input, I want too buy a new cable so I can have a better picture. Looking on ebay, basically I would pay twice as much for a S-Video ($45.00) Cable over Composite ($30.00). While I rather not pay for it, I will if there really is a difference. I just wanted to hear what everyone's opinion is here. One thing to note, I will be putting the Jaguar on a VGA Monitor though a converter box (has Composite Connector and S-Video). So if anyone has experence with that, I would love to hear it. Thanks!
  18. I got my Modded Colecovision a few days ago and love it! Works perfectly just like how I remember it when I was a kid. Good times, thanks Yurkie! Also, I will post what it looks like soon, I have mine hooked up to my VGA Monitor.
