Looking to buy a new 50-55 inch TV...real scary to see even "Top rated" or "Amazon's Choice" having 10% bad reviews, all claiming defects out of the box. Where is the quality control???
Flojomojo is right on the money. If you're satisfied but not ecstatic, you probably won't write a review. If you're displeased, you are much more likely to share your feelings. That taken into consideration, 10% bad reviews probably are fairly low.
Unless the price difference is over $30-$40 or whatever you want, I'd go to Best Buy and see the TV's in action. Less delivery people drop kicking it, if you buy locally at Best Buy. Plus if there's a problem, it's an easier return.
I broke down and order it online, just a good old plain 1080p tv. No HDR, no 4k, no nonsense, which is fine for a living room tv....if it comes busted I'll trek it back to my nearest Best Buy. I will say I buy from them repeatedly just because they are so good about returns.
