  1. 18000. I don't really even know how I scored those points. I should read the manual.
  2. 274 on Twerps. 14000 for Shadow World. I found them both pretty frustrating and unfamiliar, but I'm glad to have played them.
  3. 9895. Seems to be about all I can muster, Mister. At least for this round. Pretty cool game. Has a very Apple //ish feel to it. I wonder if it used the internal speaker on the 800. Anyone? I'm using an XE so I can't tell the difference.
  4. Man, I haven't heard of either of these games. Wish I had been here for the beginning of the season. DK is a favorite of mine lately. 24000 on Quartet 2. I haven't tried Sengoku 3 yet because my current panel only has two buttons for player 1.
  5. Just starting out so far. I haven't messed with the Mr. Robot ones yet but I'm looking forward to it. Always liked the original game. Just 7750 on Serpentine so far, but I'll give that one a lot more effort on the next try. I remember having that game on cartridge many years ago, but it seems I don't have it anymore. I never really played it back in the day, so I'm looking forward to that one too!
  6. Not easy for me. 6546. I'm hoping to get some more time in on this one to improve that score.
  7. Sorry, forgot to post my scores earlier. I believe I had exactly 40000 on E.T. but I didn't get a screenshot. I will verify later. On Pooyan, I had 127,800.
  8. First time ever for me: My score broke 100,000. Barely. 100,030.
  9. I always found the death noise in The Lone Raider to be pretty terrifying. Atari 400 800 XL XE Lone Raider (The) : scans, dump, download, screenshots, ads, videos, catalog, instructions, roms (atarimania.com)
  10. I'm not finding this one too easy. 76030 on the Datasoft version. I have a cartridge version (the one I grew up with) around here somewhere. Might give that one a try, but I remember always starting on Key level as a kid. I remember my sister and I would always try to beat 100,000. She did but I don't think I ever did.
  11. I didn't want to post a speed run unless I cracked 20000. So, I finally did. Exactly 20000! My latest high score is also slightly improved over my previous post (67370):
  12. It occurred to me that I have a bluetooth cassette in my car that I use to listen to music from my phone. If you put one of these into an Atari program recorder, could you stream a recorded flac file to the cassette, then Atari without recording to actual tape? I don't have a program recorder at the moment, but I had been thinking about getting another one at some point.
  13. Fun game. Back in the day, I only got past the first few levels, but now I'm finding it quite entertaining. 51405.
  14. Finally got a usable 8-bit setup in working order again... 76200 on DK. Figured i'd give it a go on this old thing too, but it didn't turn out well after one attempt.
  15. I believe the only one I ever attended was AUGI, but I think there were some other ones around here for a while. IIRC, AUGI stood for Atari User's Group of Indianapolis. Larry might be able to help me with that one.
  16. I always liked Conan, Gauntlet, Zombies (Realm of Impossibility), Mountain King, Brundles, Encounter!, Pharaoh's Curse, Hard Hat Mack, and Fortnite.
  17. I found that a lot of the "budget" games from the late 80s / early 90s seemed more like demos (heavy on music and graphics, not very playable). I would learn later that some of this was due to my NTSC limitations. I still don't have a PAL machine but I don't really care.
  18. I wanted to like Elektraglide. I found it very difficult. Mirax Force too. Played the hell out of Donkey Kong and Montezuma's Revenge, though. For what it's worth, I found Star Raiders to be pretty difficult, but so impressive. Sincerely, Rhopressa Ophthalmic
  19. For non-type-ins, I shouldn't forget, "Can't Quit" ... it was pretty well done. http://www.atarimania.com/game-atari-400-800-xl-xe-can-t-quit_873.html I'm also sentimental about Letterman and States and Capitals because I played the hell out of them as a kid. http://www.atarimania.com/game-atari-400-800-xl-xe-letterman_2974.html http://www.atarimania.com/game-atari-400-800-xl-xe-states-and-capitals_5046.html
  20. I liked Color Puzzle (Colour Puzzle) from Dell's Games For Your Atari but it looks like it was not well received according to atarimania (3/10). http://www.atarimania.com/game-atari-400-800-xl-xe-colour-puzzle_33971.html
