  1. I'm not dropping characters at all. What BPS, which BBS, etc. I'd be happy to compare results.
  2. The one on your site is very nicely done. Could use (maybe) some antialiasing, but good work. I'm not sure that's what jacobus was looking for though.
  3. 12410 is all I can manage on Myriapede for now. I won't post a pic, since no one will doubt that I scored 12410 (actually, after a few minutes, the HS disappeares, and the game looks like it's locked up). Not Langdon Auger's best work (creator of a8 DK?). "He's quiet and enjoys puzzles."
  4. jJumpman is great, but I'm still hoping for the very underrated Lord of the Orb.
  5. Thanks for the warm welcome. Still no Hang-On for me, but a new score for Frogger: 10380 Doesn't look like it does much for me, though.
  6. The nintendo theme is a gd idea, brianc.
  7. Always loved it. Played it a lot as a kid. I preferred the keyboard (as others did). There can be some little delays, but you get used to them quickly. I still like to play this one through from time to time. I have not mastered the technique for getting through the gate, but I've done it a few times. Some of the opponents require some significant patience.
  8. My first post in this group. I got 6220 on Frogger. I have a pretty old install of MAME on my cabinet (AdvanceMame 0.70). In Hang-On, the road does not show up, so unless I have some luck fixing that, I probably won't be able to post a score for that. Just discovered this HSC, and glad to have found it. Hope to become a regular. I've been playing in the Atari 8-bit HSC for several months.
  9. 20154 with joystick (Centipede). I'm going to have a try later with the mouse. I would think I'd do better with the mouse, but I'm not sure.
  10. Has anyone noticed any differences between the kjmann one and the fandal one? Steve mentioned a problem with his mouse on the kjmann one. Anything else? I don't really notice any differences, and I only want to keep the better of the two. They both seem to work fine with my ST mouse in port 1. They both have the same file size. Sal mentioned having fixed all the glitches in his version. I had to create a compressed (exomizer) version to run it from my my-ide cart (this one is packed from the kjmann version). I'm attaching it, in case it's of use to anyone. Oh, and one more thing, it seems that if you press start in the middle of a game, you restart, but with one less life. Interesting. exo_centipede5200_arcade.xex
  11. Nice. Yeah! Let's do that. I prefer games that will work NTSC/PAL, but I am willing to emu the ones that are PAL-only.
  12. For me, the "Coins detected in pocket" from the arcade game was particularly memorable.
  13. How about a Funsoft theme? Flak, Snokie, and Time Runner (I prefer the disk releases). I think a month might be too long, though, for those.
  14. I didn't think I was going to be able to register any scores, since I'm away from my Atari 8-bit stuff. A couple of rounds on Altirra, and I realized that I probably would've been better off not playing at all. Berzerk: 1440 Berzerk (KE): 3680 Shootout: 3140 Maniac: 50 Sheesh!
  15. He also needs to change his hair color between blonde and black (like in the arcade game).
  16. If the keyboard is pretty good in the 800XE, I think you should pull it out and trade it (with me) for a "special" one that I have in my 65XE.
  17. I'm not sure Pirate Pete was ever finished.
  18. Funny about Wiggum AND municipal elections. Maybe we should have an automatic runoff between the top two in the event that one title doesn't win at least 50% of the votes. Heh.
  19. Final scores for me: Jungle Hunt: 32950 Pooyan: 162500
  20. 30290 on Jungle Hunt. 94950 on Pooyan (and I think that's the best it'll get for me). (I think they're both good games, personally.)
  21. Thanks, Bob. Oh, and I know this can (sometimes) be a thankless job. Thanks for managing it for us.
