  1. Original disks would be cool. I don't even have a floppy drive, let alone original disks. I play it from my sio2sd. I wish there was a way to avoid swapping atr images. Do your originals include documentation, Orpheus? I've never seen any sort of manual for The Brundles.
  2. As some of you already know, I've been playing "The Brundles" a lot lately. I'm hooked.
  3. I always enjoy hearing about your ideas, José.
  4. Fres

    New mouse project!

I'm with Orpheus. I'd buy one or two if they'd work with my Atari 8-bit. I can always play more Brundles.
  5. Those appear to be in very good shape. You must take care of your stuff.
  6. I wouldn't have been upset about the bonus points. I like playing Pharaoh's Curse (and all the old games). I hadn't noticed that anything changes after level 3, though, so I just called it level 3. Oh, and I haven't been posting here very long. hehe! It just looks like I have because I joined AtariAge so long ago. Thanks for the bonus. Hopefully this will keep me up with Orpheus (we're neighbors).
  7. I like Spy Hunter, Missile Command, and Frogger II. Missile Command was one of the first two games I ever owned (it came with Star Raiders and two joysticks in Atari's "The Entertainer" package). A friend of mine had Spy Hunter on cart, and when I was a kid, I borrowed it and learned to play it by keyboard. I've always liked Frogger II for some reason -- a little bizarre, but compelling. I don't remember which one of those I voted for but I'm game for any. I haven't played the others.
  8. Rollo... Heh. Took me a second, but that's funny. OK, I think I'm Pharaoh'd out now. I played again today, and actually completed the game (on level 3). It's not much harder than the other levels, except that the shooting guys show up more (and the confounded bird too). The shooters also seem a little more erratic (and maybe faster). I did take two pics. One on the next to last screen after all gems had been obtained, and one on the final (or first) screen. The ending was a little disappointing. I was expecting it to at least tell me "Good Job!" or something, but all it did was cycle all the screens (like it does whenever the game ends), and then show the level 3 password again. One interesting thing, though, is that it didn't go into the demo mode like yesterday after I'd lost all my lives. It actually went into attract mode (with my score remaining).
  9. Well, I just got all the treasures on Pharaoh's Curse, level 3. I didn't get a pic (it went into demo mode before I was able). I did not complete the game, as I ended up in a shootout that I was not able to control, and lost all of my remaining lives one screen away from the initial (end game) screen. Bummer. I remember playing this game over and over again as a kid, just to try to learn the special codes: "syn" ... "is" ... "tops" ...
  10. Yeah, that one's definitely a little uninspired.
  11. I've made some slight improvements over my previous post. Baja Buggies PRO 1: 17 Baja Buggies PRO 2: 22 Attack of the Mutant Camels: 556 Lost Tomb: 6680 (pic) Pharaoh's Curse: 5085 (pic) Tutankham: 28540
  12. Nice, Orpheus. (Man, did I just say that?)
  13. Pitfall II is another good one. I think I did finish level one, but I was sent to the 2nd level (which doesn't exist on the 2600 one?), but no luck past there. Was there an end to the 2nd level?
  14. Yeah, FSII was impressive and all. I never really had the patience for it. I wouldn't be a good pilot, I guess. I think I'm using an STM1 with Brundles. Was that the only ST mouse? It seems like it works pretty well for me with Brundles, Missile Command/+, Centipede 5200, etc. What kind of mouse were you using, Orpheus? I remember seeing ad for "the rat" by Zobian, and I think some people used Amiga mice.
  15. Agreed on the Lucasfilm games MEtalGuy66 mentioned. I'd also have to add to MY list: The Brundles. If you haven't tried The Brundles (esp. with a mouse), you need to. It's an amazing piece of work, in my opinion. I sometimes forget I'm playing The Brundles on my 8-bit, and think I'm playing the original Lemmings. The disk swapping is a little bit of a drag at first, but if you have more than 64k, not too bad, once you get it all loaded into RAM. Plus it works on NTSC and PAL.
  16. By the way, BountyBob, regarding the version of Tutankham that I've been using, I wouldn't say the colors are BETTER necessarily. In fact, I looked at the arcade original. The one in the image you provided is probably more faithful to the original than the one I have. Yours has much higher contrast on the colors. I thought it was ugly, but it appears to be more authentic. Was tut officially released by Parker Bros. (or anyone else)? I'm sticking with your image for this contest.
  17. I used to have a few of those binders orpheuswaking mentioned. I like them a lot, but they only hold six carts + manuals. They're great for 8-bit carts since they don't rely on end labels for distinction. They're also hard to find. I quickly realized that I would never have enough of them for all of my carts, so I unloaded mine. They really are the only official Atari product for cart storage that I know of.
  18. Goonies (again), Conan, Montezuma's Revenge (does this end?). I'd like to get more into Alternate Reality. I'm still hoping someone does a "disk swapless" hack.
  19. pharaoh 3920 losttomb 2260 camels 411 tutankhamon 18480 (which version of this is preferred, blue or black background?) buggies 57th Sorry, no pictures. With a month left, I'm hoping to do better.
  20. Hehe. I'm just happy to have more points than OrpheusWaking.
  21. I didn't take advantage of the timer bug for higher scores, but I was aware of it. I found that the extra lives were worth more to me in the long run. I'll be playing ZR some more because I own the cart, and I want to more fully appreciate it.
  22. Well, I'm sure there are elements of the game I don't completely understand, but the object appears to be to shoot the sort of 4 pointed star shaped things that are sending pulses to each other. I think there are around 16 in each level. The faster you do it, the more bonus points you get. I've also found that if your bonus time runs out, you lose a life, but your time renews, which gives you potential for more bonus points.
  23. It took a while to figure out Zone Ranger. I remember playing that one as a kid and thinking it looked really good, but I didn't figure out the object until 20 or so yrs. later.
