Heheh. I don't WANT to say it but damn, that's good, MG.

In my experience Sloopy is very reliable. I'm sure this will all be resolved soon.

So this cartridge is pretty rare, right?

Atari 8-bit Cartridges: Duplicates for Trade, and Wants list

You must have a pretty nice collection. -
Too cool, Steve.

Very impressive, FJC.

That's not good to hear. I have not been around much lately, but I expect to return soon.

There was some poke you could do to avoid the blank screens with SAM. I always liked it. Sounded even more esoteric than the default voice. 8210,1 maybe (in basic)? Funny story: A "friend" of mine (in high school) sold me his (only) copy of SAM after he had learned how to make a working rip of it from a tutorial he obtained from a local BBS. I only learned of the rip a bit afterward. >douche< Dude turned out to be the "best man" at my wedding 15 yrs later.

Nice. Hope to see this.

Heh... I also have a lot of X10 stuff. I've been into it since the late 80s. It doesn't work all that well in my current house, though, and we are slowly migrating to (non-dimmable) CFL bulbs, but I'm still able to freak out our visitors from time to time. Oh, and I don't look too much like the guy in the initial pic. In reality, I look more like this guy:

My kids (5 and 7) don't presently have that much interest in my Atari or arcade stuff, but I have found that Pac-Man is a pretty good training tool (except that you don't use the fire button). You can always just press START to start over. Space Invaders helps with the fire button. Being able to start over is the key, imo. Congrats. Sounds like you'll have a "2up" soon.

Wow. Nice. -
Color Jawbreaker, Marauder and Stellar Shuttle?
Fres replied to ballyalley's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
I use a Commodore 1702 NTSC monitor with a special (home made) monitor cable that includes separate chroma/luma and composite simultaneously. So, when I find a game (like Tower Toppler) that uses artifacting, I just flip a switch on the back of the monitor. I know I'm not the only one who's doing this. It's a pretty good all-around solution. -
Yeah, all of these devices have their pros-cons. And yeah, Ken is a crotchety/knowledgeable sum-btch (no offense MG). But why do new devices always have cons?
-
Great device. Thanks, again, Piotr. I have two now. One of them I will deliver to OrpheusWaking at some undetermined time within the next 10 months.
-
I would have no interest in the HES one.

I was always a fan of the Xanth demos and the 130XE demo: Video Blitz. I've never been a fan of demos with ridiculously long scrolling "greetz" and self-serving nonsense ... I often get bored before the demo is even finished. I do like Drunk Chessboard a lot, tho.
-
I have now received two (2) which completes my order. Thanks Zaxon.

Line Runner final version and a little surprise :)
Fres replied to nosty's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
Cool. Nice work. Reminds me of Bit Trip Runner. Seems to work great on NTSC (emulated). I look forward to trying this on actual hardware, as it IS a bit difficult. I like the SFX / Music option. Great music, but I prefer SFX. -
phaeron: You have some serious talent. Thanks for all of your contributions.
-
I think he meant that after he completes these orders there will be no more (no future) ... let someone else do it.
-
Sorry to hear about your troubles Zaxon. Looking forward to the 2nd SIDE. I've been playing around with the 1st one I ordered (thanks) and it IS pretty damned cool. Great product ... very useful. Hang in there, man. This can all be resolved eventually. -Fres
