So there has always been a question on whether the Clamshells were officially released. So if we take officially released as meaning it was planned by the publishers, in this case CBS. I have to say Yes, it was a planned project and here is why I say that
In Picture A we can see the CBS logo embossed on the case. An unofficial release would probably not bother to do this bc of increased of increased cost.
In this picture, this clamshell is a known INTV bootlegged clamshell which was intended for Atari only. notice there is no embossed logo, also the graphic on the front of the clamshess was hand cut, so it looks like the just took an atari box cut the portion for use on atari and relabled it for intv. Also notice the atari cart fits perfectly.
In this picture notice no indentation slot for the Intv cart
In picture D notice slot one and two slot one is built for an atari cart and slot two for cbs intv shell
Notice how the atari cart fits
Notice how the cbs intv cart lines up with the intv slot
I dont have a aus game manual to compare but its list australian addresses.
Conclusion: Based on the evidence it appears that CBS australia division planned these games, I did not post pics of the cover, but measurement of the typesetting ans spacing of two seperate games which were obtained from different sources are indentical, so this leads me to believe that CBS planned the release.
