Blame the guy who got a patent on the following logic for Y2K:
If >49 then year = 19
If <49 then Year = 20
He went after alot of companies with Cobol systems for millions of dollars for this 'fix'..........never heard the outcome of this joke.
It is hardly that simple a code fix for one and it still sounds like a lot of sour grapes.

Wanting credit is one thing, one which I have absolutely no problem with. Getting a patent of software only harms future development and hinders others. Why get a patent? why not be happy to slap your name on it and accept the praise of your peers ?

And as far as the first I cant prove that but I am the first to present
proof as far as I know. That Proof is in 'Surrounded!'.
Now if I were really looking to fulfill ego, i'd try something like this for
the PS3 so the developers could actually code it.
I dotn envy those guys in the least.the Jaguar is hard enough.
My only point here is please dont go jumping to conclusions about me
holding out. My record is certainly not one of selfishness, i would like to
think.

DiamJag by far, quite a fun little game for free but along way from being a commercial product.
I have not yet played either as I have too much coding to do , but let me just say that even with
all our differences, Jagware was cool to release them to everyone. A noble effort and a good job!
More action like this and less arguing and we can all put out great new games for Jag of all genres!

Hey brother, since this thing is a "Demo", is there a time frame for when the actual full game will be released? You know why I am asking as I want to play it too.
When a project we work on gets moved into the official project file server it
is a go for a full fledge game. 'Surrounded!' is just such a project now!

I think I only made level 2, or so. I may have made level 4, at the most. I only played a short time. The double buttons to shoot to the upper right and lower left took me some time to figure out from the original post since I was thinking that you had to use the d-pad, as well, when I read the instructions. I was making it more difficult than it really is!

I'll say. I think I got to 7 (?) last. I can't wait to get BJL going so I can enjoy the experience with sound too!
Hang tuff JUGS users, we are addressing that issue too and will upload a new demo once we find and correct it. I am very sad about the sound not working for the JUGS folks, I think you will be most satisfied with the sfx. The sound is only during game mode. Everything else is silent so if you dont get sound in the demo, that is the way
it is supposed to be. The new demo will hopefully have a nice little bell/whistle added.

This thread is about Gorf, his free Christmas demo gift, and his cool accomplishment in Jag coding.
So... what levels have you made it to in Surrounded? That was Gorf's last question.
I'm thinking there is a cool message at the end of the 12th level like "Coming soon, Gorf 3-D!!"

Nagging only discourages and makes things vanish. Only ask occationally to let them know you still care.
Nagging? Im mearly pointing out the facts. This thread DID start out as a gift to the community.
My friend here seems to have a personal grudge against the JUGS system. Is it perfect? Which
one is? I use the Alpine and it's a bear! I curse regularly at it. I just have a problem with people
who take cheap shots at other products to promote their own or their favorite. this is not an
isolated incident btw. These gentle men do this quite regularly and it's erally unfortunate. They
unfairly and frankly viciously pound Me and Gorf classic on a regular basis. They seem to follow
me around too. I came here with an olive branch. I always say, the best way to pump a product
is let it stand on its own merits. It seems those that strongly support the CF(which is fine btw), are
going out of their way to get others believe that. Let people decide for them selves and stop trashing
other peoples hard work.
so any way.....I suppose it should be me....so here goes...

Why must you always take shots at the competition? Do you really think that
will make anyone else anymore interested in the CF? We are talking about 7
years later and JUGS has been sucessfully uploading happy jag fans demos
for their gaming pleasure. The CF sounds great, but where is it?
Call it as you wish, but at the time, JUGS was a brilliant idea WITHOUT
MODIFCATION TO THE JAG.and is still a great product and certainly useful
to many wanting to enjoy the homebrews. It came FREE with another product
along with MANY neat demos and the possiblity for those wanting to to code
the Jaguar before the encryption keys were released.
I call that brilliant foresite and certainly a fantastic service to all jag fans and
those who could not or did not want to mod thier Jaguars. They were the first
to offer this packaged with a fantastic space battle game to boot. I say
BRAVO!!!
