Well at this point, I may re-issue Classic, but Pluz and 3D are going to now
be renamed and all references to Gorf removed. Both will be released in
as original titles completely. We need Our own games anyway.
The new Working titles are
Earth God's Troopers....to replace Gorf Pluz
and God's Earth Troopers 3D to replace Gorf 3D.
Oh and some other models from some other works for Jaguar.....guess all you want...I'll show the models and you all can fantisize....

The TRUTH why Gorf has been discontinued, REGARDLESS of what you heard otherwise is simply this. I only have ONE THIRD the permission and until I get the rest of it, it is done. Maybe I should have you all bug the peepee out of Midway and Nutting till they copitulate. IM KIDDING!!!!! PLEASE DONT DO THAT OR I'll NEVER GET THERE PERMISSION
The fact is, according to Jamie, If Midway cut the same deal they usually did back then with programmers, Dave Autting probably the ONLY one I need permission from but since she was not sure,
I need to be.

You shouldn't be so hard on yourself, dude. Many released games have bugs that aren't found until some time later. Look at Pacman. No one knew about the bug on the 255th (or so, I can't remember now) key that rendered the game unplayable until years later. There's also the infamous Asteroids bug where on early machines you could hide out in the high score field and be invincible. There's also the Galaga bug that if done correctly makes it that the enemy ships cann't fire missiles at you. There are many others as well, some of which don't ever get fixed.Galaga bug????HMMMMM tell me more...tell me more!

If I were so one sided as you claim, I wouldn't have purchased a copy of your game. How many times are you going to repeat yourself out of curiosity? That's like the 30th time you've said that to me.

Yeah I have read it and it seems nothing has changed. I buy many games, It does not mean I am not biased against the person who wrote it. That proves nothing to me....I know you think you post perfectly and politely but I was the one who recieved it and it was condesending. Trust me.

I made a joke about Nebraska and Mega Man sent me a what I took as a condesending PM(like SKU_U did) and made it sound like I was the only one
being unreasonable. Go back and read them and try to see them from MY point
of view. I know..that does not matter..I came here with good intentions. I got
two nimrods who had to be right even when they were wrong. I had my post
deleted edited and used to complain to me about negativeness and all the others
being negative never had there quotes used in that letter. That was Albert who did that. Weather it was intentional or not, it was bad timming...ALL of this mounted as my only goal here was to be supportive to those who purchased or want to purchaes gorf. I have worked VERY well in my life in Customer Service with hardly any trouble even from the worst of customers, but I have NEVER dealt with this.
Even AFTER I tried to make a plea to peace I got an attitude post from YOU Sku...go back and read it. try to be me when you do.
enough is enough....I wanted to make a game for the Jaguar community and unforunatley I DID get caught in the middle. I unfortunately did not handle it as best as I can, but then I was never treated like this before either. Had he not flown off the handle, people wouldn't have been asking in the first place. Gorf brought this on himself by attacking anyone who responded to him including those who were trying to defend him. The really sad thing is that this whole situation was intentionally blown out of proportion by two instigators who WOULD like to see a rift created in the Jaguar community and Gorf got caught in the middle.Defending myself is NOT flying off the handle. I never ATTACKED ANYONE defending me. IF I had something hard to say to someone, I had good reason, At leat I felt so. Say what you want but your clearly being one sided.

The fact of the matter is the first e-mail I got from Jamie, she gave me the go
ahead...not making ANY mention of others involved. I still have the e-mail
somewhere..I will look for it. This recent round of post's by you are just
laughable. Any lie you accuse me of was created out of your own desire to
justify your illegal ROMS. I at least have, yes STILL HAVE, partial permission.
I know I STILL have it because Jamie e-mailed me over the weekend confiming
this and giving me the ENTIRE breakdown of what is going on.

I forgot. You dont have any. I stopped Gorf from sale because I am TRULY trying
to be honest about this. Now let's see if you will erase your illegal ROMs images.
You can call me a liar untruly, but clearly you are stealing. I own several ROM images on my hard drive...KEY WORD...OWN I own the machines. I also repair
arcades and can get ANY ROM I want. But I inly burn new ROMS for whomever need it for their machine and that is that.
Nova, my honest opinion about the whole ROM's issue is I think they should
release all to the public after 10 years or dormancy. However Nova, that is not
that case. I helped write parts of MAME and am working on some Jaguar stuff for
MESS...specifically the ASTROCADE drivers. Us MAME authors wrote MAME to
PRESERVE the classsic, not have everyone steal them. Truth is I can give you a real legal problem over owning those ROMS if you indeed do as I do have PARTIAL say in Gorf..I cant do anything with it now untill I clear up the other two thirds.
I am only guessing this but, she must have thought Scott(JagMod)
was e-mailing her( the first contact I made) , who she met at a gaming show where he was showing off an early proto-type of Jaguar Gorf Classic. I m
assuming he had already spoken with her. I was NOT told the whole story...I am quite sure it was not her intentions and I am sure it is because she may have thought I was Scott..My guess..I dont know...Maybe Scott can shed some light.
MY intentions were not to lie to anyone...I told you the truth according to what I knew . Thanks to you I am even more aware and have done that which is right.
Gorf is done for until I hear from the rest.
I hope this clears it up.

Indeed. While some of those who posted questions have at times been tagged as provocateurs in other forums on this board (at times I'm sure I've been thought of that way too) I certainly didn't read anything intentionally inflammatory in asking reasonable questions like "who owns what" and "was a tribute version approved." These are the kind of questions any person of natural curiosity would ask about redoing any classic game like Gorf as a modern homebrew. Giant video game to FlapPing.Dear me oh my! You people get an idea in your head around here

I have permission from the author (go ask her yourself once and for all) unlike
the rest you mention. I do not apperciate being lumped into that pile. It is not
the truth even a little bit. Get over it already! I dont mind being asked ANYTHING
until I am called a liar or a pirate or be accused of something as a result when
none is true. And Linko, pirates are not cool, software or otherwise. They ruin
lives one way or the other.

Complaining/debating is fine. Personal insults and name calling is not. If people have issues with each other, it's best left to PM. Everyone in the community doesn't need to know about it.
I agree...I came here to answer questions anyone might have about Gorf.
Gave them honest replies. Got compared to a pirate.....I hate when people PM
me with whinning. I'd rather they just let it go. they dont. they want to be right,
even if they are not...I know...I've been there...im by no means perfect. I do
try to get along as much as I can. There will be clashes. IT 's part of life.

Hello,I sort of know how you feel, having released code and then found bugs,
but your release is so classy right through that I think the bug only makes
it more "real Atari" than anything else.
Nobody is perfect. My wife toldme that my Gorf arrived on Saturday, #30 of #50 thanks, I just wish that
I could play it, but work keeps me away from wife and kids, and Gorf too!
I really look forward to playing, and I'll for sure take a cartridge as well.
It's just great to see the release, and all the fans you've made so happy.

I would just like to say that I admire Gorf and anyone else who takes the time to develop a game for any system. There are always those who believe that they could do better but never attempt it themselves. You have my support Gorf from the far flung shores of the UK so keep up the good work and I look forward to any other games you might one day release;)Thanks Fox! Ignore the people who only crawled out of the woodwork to nitpick or to start
flames, clearly if they can't be bothered to be an active part of the community
normally by posting (in general) then they have negative reasons for doing so
now. I know lots of Jag fans who don't post on forums but are very happy to
see your excellent release, and everybody should be impressed by your very
positive response to finding a bug. You could so easily just have said that you
would fix the bug and put that CD in with Gorf Pluz perhaps, making people
buy another version to get the fix. I applaud you, you've done us all proud.

I think any option of a replacement is way better than nothing.
I was told from the website this is a port of a classic arcade game, but now I have one that is really close but has some bugs in it. If I ever made an arcade cabinet with this game in it, I wouldn't want it wigging out or adding score on the attract screen... because the arcade doesn't.
I guess I just don't like things that are "fully operable (with bugs)"

Are running Windows of anykind, are you going to make Mr. Gates replace it with
a bug free version? Would he even offer? I know what ever I do as a make up is more than you would EVER get from any other software producer. Relax. You will
get something. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the rest of it. Me sending you a disc in an envelope is more than you would get elsewhere else and I think more than fair enough. I may just release a mini game to all who bought the buggy version.
There are now only `90 blues with that version. Im getting plenty of requests for these discs. In fact, send the package back and I'll put a new bug free disc in it.

from a collectors point of view. Try to buy a gorf Arcade for under 50 dollars.

lot better appreciation for some one trying to support the system they love than

I don't think anyone is going to find fault with you for discovering for this bug and I doubt it would crop up very often during gameplay (especially if it was just now found). Fortunately the game is a CD release, so it's much cheaper to replace CDs than if GORF Classic had been a cartridge release. Still a pain in the neck for you, I'm sure, but I bet everyone will appreciate your coming forward with the problem as well as suspending sales until the bug is fixed and a new set of discs is made...Al
I appreciate the understanding from everyone, I did'nt think anyone would fault
me.However I aim to set an example or high quality and real concern for the
Jag base. I dont know about the rest of you , but as a Jaguar fan and day one
owner, I already feel plenty ripped of by Atari for abandoning and not supporting
us.. The Jaguar is a long dead market but there is NO reason new games cant be
made at a reasonable price. Gorf Classic CD 's price was my highest concern after
the actual game content. I still aim to get you all (if intersted) a Gorf Classic Cart
version for under 60 dollars. It will have a few added features im working on as
we speak, like a REAL 90 degree rotated monitor mode to completely and totaly
capture Gorf dead on. It will also feature flip mode for those who may want to
build a cocktail version where the screen flips for each player. Oh and other
goods that you'll just have to find out for yourself.

Go ahead and play...niether is harmfull in anyway...im just bummed they are
there. Your copy of Gorf will provide you with many hours of fun. There is no
crash, in fact the game operates normally immediatley after it occurs.
I know why it is happening and we are aleady in the process of fixing it.
what happens is if you get killed on you LAST ship and your missile
destroys the flagship right after you get hit, the game awards you a tons of
ship(not supposed to) but the game blanks for a moment and you go back to
demo mode(The game is over anyway). It only can happen on the FIRST flagship
mission (mission #5) What the real arcade machine does if this happens is, if you
have the extra ship dip(or option in the Jag version) it will kill your last ship, but
award you a new one. and you go around again untill you get killed. Gorf arcade
either awards you one extra ship after the first flagship destroyed ONLY, or not at
all.
Weren't you just accusing Nova about being wrong, in regards to who owns the rights to this game? I am confused now.
