  1. Stoked to hear about the paddle! 2 questions:

    1. Will the paddle work on Indy 500? That game had its own driving controller but was still basically a paddle.

    2. If this does well can we hope for an upgraded version in in the future that will have 7800 compatibility? Even a cart adapter to plug 7800 games in to the existing R77 would be a happy upsale for me.

Thanks for answering our questions and checking in!

I pre ordered as soon as I heard it was available to do so.

I also would greatly appreciate if the system could play 7800 games. There are a lot of great new games coming out for the 7800. Would be awesome to be able to play them on the Retron 77!

  2. Would be sweet to play this on my Jag at some point in the future.

Looks like a lot of fun!

Love the sound on all of Jeff's games. Very much arcade 80's sounding!

(Photon Storm also looks and sounds great.)

Thanks CJ for bringing more Minter to the Jag!

  3. You'll have to patiently wait for Xevious 2000 (already in the works) for a soundtrack CD.

    Hi Al.

First - thanks for adding me to the Xevious pre-order list a while back. I love shootemups and any addition of such to the Jag library is much appreciated.

Second - were you joking about someone working on Xevious 2000? :-o

  4. Great footage of Conan!

Nice to finally see this in action. I used to look at the pics in the game magazines back then and was eagetly awaiting its release.

Then as time went on and nothing further was seen of the game I started to wonder if the screen shots were just early mock ups. Someone's idea of what they wanted the game to look like.

Glad to finally see it was real! :^)

  5. I'm a sucker for shoot em ups and love all the retro shooters from back in the 80's and 90's. This looks right up my alley!

I like the Atari ST sound effects much better than the Amiga sound effects.

The music definitely adds a lot to the game. Hopefully they'll come up with some great tunes for this new release.

I'll definitely be buying this on cart when it comes out!

  6. Homebrew development is what keeps me interested in the Jaguar.

I greatly look forward to what homebrewers are working on for their next release.

Really love games such as these:

    Alice's Mom's Rescue

    Impulse X

    Kobayashi Maru

    Protector: Resurgence

    Another World

    DuckieEgg

Looking forward to the following even though, some might not be considered homebrew. Just crossing my fingers they get released in my lifetime! :)

    Rebooteroids

    Ladybugged

    Mighty Frog

    Soul Star

    Bomberman

And with the release of RaptorBasic+ ... the sky's the limit!

  7. Hello,

just to inform you that the second run is on its way.

People who have registered to the waiting list will be contacted as soon as their game is ready to go. Please watch your emails (and maybe your spam folder).

    Cheers

    Seb

    Thanks for the update!

Looking forward to a copy of this.

From the pics I've seen, the cart and packaging looks very nice!

  8. If it really is ST compatible (according to the description it is), then it should work.

Maybe you know this already, but don't forget that a mouse->Jaguar adapter is required.

Thanks I did not know I would need a mouse to Jaguar adapter also.

I'll definitely be on the look out as I'd really like to spend some time with this game!

  9.

First, thanks to everyone for the kind words. :)

To classicvidgamer - thanks for the feedback. While no game is ever perfect, we spent a long time working on balancing all of the gameplay elements to make it challenging and fun without being overly difficult, from the timing of when powerups appear, how long they stay on screen, the speed of the player, enemies, and arrows, and countless other things as well. The skeleton warrior with the shield that you are referring to actually is coded to be more likely to take a path toward the player when an intersection in the dungeon is reached. It's subtle of course, but he is a little bit more aggressive. Changing him to relentlessly pursue you would upset the gameplay balance at this point and make it exceedingly difficult, in my opinion. Thanks again for the suggestion, though, it's always appreciated!

Steve - I can see you guys spent a lot of time refining everything from the sound, the graphics, gameplay, etc. It really shows. I am highly anticipating the release of this game! I grew up in the hey day of arcades and this game totally reminds me of those early days.

I'm fairly new to the Atari 7800 scene (being more of a Jag fan). I bought my first 7800 a couple of months ago. This game makes me glad I finally jumped in. (As well as Bentley Bear: Crystal Quest.)

Thank you for taking the time to make such a quality release. (And much thanks for responding to my suggestions!)

  10.

Love it! Sign me up for a cart!

It would be cool if at least one of the enemies followed your character, trying to kill you. Maybe the guy with the shield? It would add some challenge as you would need to kill him fast as he chased you around or (if you ran out of arrows) run away in a mad dash to pick up more arrows. (I'm imagining Pac man when a ghost chases you every so often.)

But regardless, this is turning out to be a great addition to the 7800 library.

    Love the voice work!

    Great job!

  11. This game is looking great!

I love the sound and like that certain sounds start to speed up making the game seem more frantic as you run around shooting enemies and looking for more arrows.

Oh and... that title screen is very cool!

It would be cool to see the background color change as the player levels up instead of allowing you to choose it before starting. I think it would give the player a sense of accomplishment. A sense that he's getting deepter into the game. The only way I can explain this is Ms. Pac-Man. As the levels go higher, the maze color changes and the fruit also changes. Just a suggestion.

Great job and looking forward to a cart release!
