  1. Just wondering if drawing power from the 12V line could stress the ST. How much does the board pull from the 12V line? My preference is for the external power version so I'm glad I got that one.
  2. Great, thanks for the link. Why in the world would he not post it here :). I have this thread subbed but totally missed the other one. Thanks again!
  3. Do you know if Shanti is going to have a boxed version of Trax when it is done?
  4. Here is a thread over at atari-forum that discusses the vertical lines issue and how to fix it. https://www.atari-forum.com/viewtopic.php?t=34408
  5. Well, as I mentioned, the pictures above exaggerate it since my camera makes the image "bloom" quite a bit. It is noticeable in normal usage, but not unusable since it is only bad in totally black screens. And even with that, this adapter is definitely better than the ST2VGAr4 that I got from Centuriantech with regards to the lines. Also am using a backup STE since my main STE is out of service atm for recapping and reworking of a couple other issues so when that gets back up and running maybe the situation will be better with it. I guess the only foolproof solution would be something with a framebuffer. Does the RGB2HDMI use one of those?
  6. Definitely crawling. If I look closely at the lines, it's similar to the well-known vertical scroll from the Matrix movie except lines instead of symbols.
  7. Thanks to @Shift838 I have my board here and hooked up. The board is built really well. It has a fairly clean image on my Dell SE2722H when the screen has color on it but unfortunately is not the ultimate RGB to VGA solution I was hoping for. The issue is when Black screens are displayed the vertical lines are still really pronounced. Here is an example. The picture above was taken in a darkened room so the lines are a little enhanced with my phone camera, but they are still noticeable in normal use. I tried adjusting the pixel clock and phase as suggested by the creator, but that didn't seem to have any effect. This adapter is better than the old one I was using but still needs a little bit of work to be the champion. I was hoping the buffered picture would have signal cleaning that would eliminate the lines but alas. Maybe the next revision?
  8. Spring cleaning and time to get rid of some magazines that have been taking up space. Have a box of Atari User issues from England. Free just pay shipping. Shipping won't be cheap as they are heavy. If interested and in US send me a PM.
  9. Thanks, I see that is an internal buffer board. While some users would prefer that (escpecially H5 users) I like the idea of the external unit the OP is working on here.
  10. Well, I've posted previously about how great this game looks before, but yeah, glad you are feeling better and back to working on your hobby projects again. Game shows a lot of potential and demonstrates a good feel for how to pull detail from Atari 8-bit graphics with judicious use of shadowing against other colors. Cool!
  11. Ah that's great. Guess those pinout pages are wrong. Looked in the Atari Profibuch also and it says pin 8 is 12V at max 10mA. Is that enough current for the buffer circuit?
  12. Is it 12V on STFM? Both these pages state that it is GND for STs and 12V for STEs. https://allpinouts.org/pinouts/connectors/computer_video/atari-st-monitor/ https://info-coach.fr/atari/hardware/interfaces.php
  13. Yes, those cheap amiga video adapters I have seen use power from the video connector for their buffering. The ST is hampered by that lack of power available on the video connector so external power from somewhere is needed. Well, STE has 12v on the connector but there aren't as much of those in use. I think that is a main reason why we haven't seen such a solution on our platform. Hope this new board buffers the signals. Would do wonders to clean up the jail bars issue . Wonder where the 12V line he mentioned is coming from?
  14. A bump to see if anyone has heard anything about an English translation?
  15. Jośe, is there a game planned for these screens or are you just working out the screens ahead of time for a future project that may or may not happen? They look great btw! Fantastic job! I just forgot if there was a real game in the works, the thread is too long haha :).
