  1. I've only left negative feedback once. A guy listed an Xbox game as "brand new, " however, when the game arrived the plastic around the case was completely disintegrated and the artwork that was clinging on was severely faded and ripped. He offered a refund but I had to pay out of my own pocket. I paid $6 for the game, it was going to cost that much to send it back so he offered me a new case out of his pocket to which I agreed, when it arrived it wasn't even an Xbox case. I am a collector, the case matters to me. Now, there were no pictures of this item so I only had the "brand new" to go off and he argued with me the entire time that I'm just being crazy and that it was in fact new because the game inside was never used. Do I buy bread off of a grocery store shelf that is torn open but never eaten ? I gave him 5 stars for everything, which was honest and 1 star for the item condition...which was also honest. Brand new means just that, anything else an incorrect listing. I shouldn't have to waste my time writing emails and being hassled, the item should be as described. I asked around on the Ebay forums and received a unanimous decision from buyers and sellers alike, negative feedback, I even noted that he had over 5000 seller rating of 100%. Guy wrote me back telling me how I screwed him and hopes my life is miserable and I'm a terrible person, etc. I tried to work wth him and he was rude from the start, I tried to stay patient but in the end I'd had enough, he now has 99.8% for it.

Moral...do research and list correctly. I know someone can find a problem with anything if they want to but you'll protect youself better if you do. I took pictures an myself and Ebay are happy we did.

*I hope my mini-rant was close to on topic because it felt good to say, lol*

  2. I wrote to a guy selling a Genesis Sonic The Hedgehog "Not For Resale" for $165, listed as *RARE!!!* asking him how rare it actually was with Eleven million Sega Genesis' sold and that being the pack in game...no response of course. Also just saw a "*11!!!Brand New!!!11* Homefront for the Xbox 360 for the low introductory price of $19,999 VGA graded. So, on topic, whilst useful and great to some, VGA grading can also be considered a Ebay scam to the general public where buyers also need beware.

  3. Point them in the direction of Red Sea Crossing, lol. Speaking of comics, loved the Berzerk one...and the game...and the artwork. I'm seriously considering it as a new tattoo idea. Closer on topic, love the videos MJR, definitely my favorite Youtuber right now and I mean that in a completely manly way, lol. I love metal, beer and professionalism so you fit the mold to a "T." I'm more Colecovision myself but absolutely love me some Atari. Now if someone can point me in the direction of a CIB Worm War 1 I'd be appreciative...which by the way is totally a forgotten gem if I ever saw one.

  4. If I could have any game I wanted at any time I would have no reason to collect. Most of the fun is the hunt and the aspirations of maybe having it someday, kind of like the months before Christmas when I was young. The anticipation of the wait and the joy of finally achieving success are the real drive. Without the range of emotions, collecting is pretty dull and boring. I honesly thought I would never have Earthbound for the SNES just because I would never pay the rediculous asking price but low and behold I found one this weekend and all I had to trade to get it was five Saturn games that I never really played much anyway. A win/win and a high for both of us as he was looking for these particular titles...I saw the Opcode Pac-Man Collection on Ebay going for like $300 and never knew it existed, I was so bummed that I would probably never have it but this prompted a Google search which led me here and to the Opcode website where I was able to purchase said game for $45. Charge whatever you want, I accept your challenge !

  5. Me too if you split, would love some of those Imagic games, especially Dragonfire, Nova Blast and Moonsweeper. Sentimental value, loser makes the popcorn night playing with the family when I was younger. Can't ever find those complete and mine is turning into quite the collection lately.

  6. I second Satan's Hollow and Mappy and will add Sinistar and Zoo Keeper.

And I'll take your Sinistar and Zoo Keeper, and I'll raise you one Vanguard and one Solar Fox (since the one-vote-per-member seems to have gone out the window.) :P

Oooh, how could I have forgotten about one of my favorite games Solar Fox ? Love that game, I could play it for hours in the arcade, I second that as well...I wish I could code. I do work in a data center but servers are more my thing so all I can offer is overwhelming moral support for this thread/project.

  7. Thank you all for the kindness ! I have been going through a lot of the older posts and it is surprisigly exciting to see that the Coleco is becoming almost more popular than when it was released. @NIAD, I am referring to People Play Games. I live about a ten minute walk from there, Video Games Then and Now I have not been to yet. I sold my car a little over a year ago and have become a CTA kinda guy, though a ZipCar trip may be in order soon. Speaking of PPG, some foolish person emptied there entire boxed collection there and I have been steadily purchasing, I certainly haven't found any in the wild yet...Maybe that means I'm due for my rare, big haul, lol. @65Gamerguy, I will check out that link, thank you...I believe I have been watching reviews on Youtube which were yours prior to finding this forum, they are a lot of fun to watch ! Here is my meager but growing colection...

  8. Hello all,

I have been collecting for quite some time but only just recently re-discovered my love for all things Colecovision. The poor guy (or maybe girl for this story) had been sitting in my closet for far too many years whilst my attention was being held by my recent Saturn and Sega CD obsession. On one rainy day I pulled it out, gave it a nice cleaning and fell in love all over again. Not only did all my great Coleco related memories come flooding back, the games, as always, still hold up great today. I have no doubt that it is my favorite of all time, I just had to leave for awhile to appreciate the sheer awesomeness when I came back, lol...Anyway, I've been expanding my collection through my local independent game store out here, occasionally ebay (just got Buck Rogers CIB for $8.09 !) and am very excited to find the Opcode and Collectorvision homebrew sites. I just ordered Pac-Man and Yie Ar Kung Fu a bit ago (I think...I paid but haven't received any confirmation, not sure how the site works, lol) and could not be more excited about some of my fav's like Elevator Action and Buster Bros.! I'll stop rambling, just wanted to introduce and meet some other like-minded Coleco lovers. Thanks !
