  1. I'm pretty sure there is someone working on that. No ETA though. It's true, the Vectrex isn't really best equipped to do realtime 3d math without an FPU but it's doable. Jim was trying to get the same kind of performance as Rommels Revenge on the ZX Spectrum, which is playable but not super-smooth.
  2. My friend Jim Watt has a true 3d version of Battlezone on Vectrex but it runs at a slow rate of FPS at the moment and is not yet complete. It is coming though, possibly this year. A simpler version could be quite easily done at a higher framerate by using prerendered 3D. 'Polar Rescue' (the submarine game) is quite battlezone-ish but just uses static models rather than calculating doing 3d math. Here's a demo video from ages ago. The code has moved on a bit since then.
  3. Vecmulti is the best all-round flash-cart imo.
  4. Updated to v1.01. Details of changes in first post.
  5. Just a little sound toy. Use analogue joystick(s) to control the V-Theremin. Button 1 = Toggles Mute Button 2 = Toggles between 1 and 2 analog sticks for control. Button 4 (on either stick) allows you to crudely play melodies without moving up and down to control volume. When using 1 joystick : Joy 1 Y Axis = Volume Joy 1 X Axis = Pitch When using 2 joysticks : Joy 1 Y Axis = Volume Joy 2 X Axis = Pitch V-THEREMIN_v101.BIN

  7. Yeah, I know. I wrote that one too
  8. It ought to work fine with that controller. I'll probably add in spinner support in a future update.
  9. Yeah, the enemy AI is a little dumb right now but it gives a reasonable challenge. I'll probably give this another update soonish to address a couple things like that and probably add a 4 player option too.
  10. Just checked out "discrimination pong", did you do this Ia1n? Brilliant work. Updated first post with a binary of v1.01
  11. Cleared customs and VAT / import duty paid. 9 boxes of shells should arrive with me in a day or two
  12. Finally played this on a real machine today after my Vectrex was fixed. Hmmmm way too slow/boring imo, it was a good bit faster emulated. I will update soon with a few tweaks/fixes now my Vectrex is back in action.
  13. I'm aware of that one. However that game is really Pong in name only. Only 1 player and you just bounce a ball against a wall until you lose it.
  14. Ah! Thanks. I was a very tired when I posted this and could not see the option but I knew I had done it before....
  15. Both digital and analog sticks. Digital modes use button 4 to move faster.

  17. The Vectrex was missing a version of Pong in its library so I knocked up a quick version. 1 or 2 players. Analog or digital controls. Normal Mode or 'Battle Mode'. Optional moving obstacles. Enjoy! *edit* v1.01 Update - Various bug fixes, better opponent AI, more visible barriers in 'battle mode', improved deflection of the ball and faster speed. *edit* v1.02 Update - Various bug fixes, better opponent AI, better digital controls, improved sfx. *edit* v1.03 Update - RHS wall bug fix, tweaked ball speeds and bat position now determines serve angle. *edit* v1.04 Update - *Properly working* RHS wall deflect bug fix, tweaked ball speeds. 18. Shells in UK now. I just have to pay import duties and they should arrive with me next week.
  19. UK developer Jim Bagley has a version programmed for real arcade hardware (World Cup 90 boardset) but I don't think it has seen a proper release yet. It has been playable at a few UK shows though. He previously ported Manic Miner to Pac Man hardware.
  20. Update : Due to a bit of a mix-up (nothing to do with me), the UK/EU cart shells have been delayed slightly. They should arrive with me around the 1st of May.
  21. A friend of mine has an Adventurevision - they are impressive machines imo. The 'cartridge' housing is pretty interesting - it's just a two-part shell which clicks into place around the rom chip itself, the rom is not soldered to a PCB of any kind so its more like a socketed ROM thats plugs to the console, rather than a 'proper' cart.
  22. They are the original grey/black colour. I'm not a fan of the transparent shells.
  23. I have a 'regular' Vectrex cart a friend 3d printed for me from the thingyverse model. It works reasonably well but is a little brittle. Definitely no comparison to the mold-injected ones. I'd imagine Richards design is a bit more sturdy. The main problem with the Vec cart is the model available for 3d printing was really designed for injection molding and could use a little more support in its 3d printed form.
  24. Outrun 2 / Outrun SP - C2C are fantastic games but imo look much better on the original Xbox, the draw distance is stunning. Segas Afterburner update (on arcade/xbox 360 etc) was good too, though not quite as nice an update as Outrun 2.
  25. Yeah, just about every game takes inspiration at least in part from another. Everyone has parents...games are no different. There are fresh spins on old ideas quite often but rarely a truly original new idea.
