  1. Well, I've decided on the Newell. Mainly because I have an 800XL with a Newell 256k in it. But wait, I do have 2 1200XLs. My initial thought was to mod one and keep the other stock. I may upgrade both now. -Bob
  2. In the thread I mentioned above there was this post: http://atariage.com/forums/topic/113519-newell-omnimonramrod-os/?p=1375170 That post has a link to download the Omnimon 800 manual. I've extracted the install information, including the instructions for the optional switch from that manual and attached them here. -Bob omnimon_install.pdf
  3. There's a link to Omnimon 800 docs in this thread: http://atariage.com/forums/topic/113519-newell-omnimonramrod-os/ Maybe it has what you need? I have an uninstalled Omnimon 800 board that I can look at/take detailed pics of if that would help. I'll have to find it in the many boxes in the garage. We recently moved. -Bob
  4. I have a 1200xl that I want to put a 256kb memory upgrade in. I have a Wizztronics and a Newell available. Which would you use and why? -Bob
  5. I'm in the Cincinnati area, near Montgomery. My Atari stuff is still in boxes, but I think I can dig out a disk or two. I don't have a system set up to do the copying though. -Bob
  6. Http is port 80. Just telnet to port 80 and send the proper http request. You'll get the raw html of the page. Smtp is port 25, maybe? (going by memory, it's been a while since I've played with TCP ports). Telnet to port 25 and send SMTP, or ESMTP, commands. -Bob
  7. Bob Wooley had a mod to add TTL output to the XEP-80. I have an XEP with the mod, but have never connected it. -Bob
  8. Can you put an Omniview chip in place of the Atari OS chip? -Bob

  10. I would close the mech on a spare disk or something similar. Didn't they come new with a piece of cardboard or something in the drive slot and the door closed? -Bob
  11. I think I have a pin. I'll see if I can find it and get a pic. We've recently moved and everything is in boxes. -Bob
  12. Ordered mine today. Glad I didn't wait too long. -Bob
  13. There's one on ebay now. It's a little more than $20 though: http://www.ebay.com/itm/DISKEY-AI-Adventure-International-Scott-Adams-Ultra-Utility-Atari-1983-/391137508622?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item5b119cbd0e -Bob
  14. I picked this up with the intention of putting it into one of my 1200XLs: No instructions, or MyDOS disk, and I now have to pick up some 256x1 150ns chips. But, that's OK. I also have an 800XL that has the Newell 256K upgrade. -Bob
