What's the latest Atari related thing(s) you've bought on ebay?

I think I keep it for a while. It looks good next to the Movie Musical Madness I have. -Bob -

I contacted the seller last week, probably the day the ad was placed, and offered to buy just the Atari carts. It took some time to coordinate pickup. I guess that's what she meant by "sold individually". The halftime battlin' bands is in the box of carts I picked up. -Bob -

Not ebay but I picked up the Atari carts from this ad yesterday: http://cincinnati.craigslist.org/vgm/3494352530.html Nothing super rare, but it gives me more games to play. -Bob -
It works! I took it apart, using a piece of notebook paper to separate the mylar/silicone from the circuit board. I took my time and didn't pull the membrane or try to rush getting it off. Once it was off, I cleaned the contacts and then carefully cleaned the carbon dots. I used a "CircuitWriter" pen to redraw the contacts at the bottom edge of the mylar. I got the pen from Radio Shack. It wasn't cheap but I think I can use it for other projects. Anyway, I let the conductive ink cure overnight and reassembled everything. With much trepidation I turned it on and all the keys register in the Self Test. Woohoo! Thanks to everyone for their advice. Without it I probably would have trashed the membrane. -Bob

That was my first attempt. Didn't work. I had some free time tonight so I disassembled the keyboard. I will pick up some conductive paint on the way home from work Thursday. With any luck I should have it repaired by the weekend. -Bob

Picked this one a few days ago: 83S DA 53974 163 Cincinnati, Ohio USA It replaces the one I sold a few years ago. No mods, totally stock. -Bob

Thanks for all the advice. I probably won't be able to effect the repair until this weekend. When I get to it I will refer to the info in the sticky and this thread. Thanks again, -Bob

Well, I cleaned it up a little, plugged it in and got the animated "ATARI" logo. Turned it off and inserted a Basic cart. It boots w/Basic but the only keys that work are the 4, R, M and X. Looks like I'm going to have to attempt a keyboard repair on this one. -Bob

Received mine too. Will check it out soon. Well, as soon as I can get my workspace cleaned up and reorganized. -Bob

I don't think it was so much about the Atari as an Atari, but rather the object that has been with him since he was 12. I think it really could have been any item. It just happened to be a 1200XL. -Bob

and I feel real bad about it. I saw the ad on our local Craigslist. 1200XL with a 410 recorder and three carts (Basic, Star Raiders, Millipede) for $150.00. Didn't know if worked, I offered $100 and the deal was done. Today I go to pick it up and I ask the guy how long he has owned it. He tells me, "Since I was 12 years old and it was new." Oh man, you should have seen his face. I really thought he was going to cry. He tells me it's been in a box for a long, long time and his wife wanted to throw it away. He knew someone would want it and put it on Craigslist instead. I told him it was going to a good home and I would clean it up, fix it if needed and use it. That seemed to cheer him up a bit. I told him I asked how long because I was actually looking for the one I sold a number of years ago. I also told him it will sit along side of my 400, 800, 800XL and 130XE and get used. But boy, he sure didn't want to let go. -Bob

Here is some documentation on the Super Video: http://ftp.pigwa.net/stuff/collections/atari_forever/Extension/Super%20Video%202.1XL/supervid.html -Bob

This thread may help. It has some documentation: http://www.atariage.com/forums/topic/113519-newell-omnimonramrod-os/ -Bob

Thanks. I will have to do some research on this one. My 800XL has the RamrodXL. My last exposure to an "omnimonned" 800 was way back in 1983/1984 when a friend had one. We used to experiment with programs using the monitor. -Bob

Yes, it's the 8k Omnimon board with the Omnimon 80, Omniview256 and RDOS 800 chips. I'll have to review my docs but I think one of the chips can be plugged in the empty socket on the board. I have an 800XL with the OmnimonXL board. -Bob

I was going through my stuff and found this box: This is what I found when I opened it: Should I be disappointed? :-) -Bob

Definitely not a Mosaic board, it is an Atari 16KB board that someone has modified. It's not a memory upgrade since the RAM chips are still only 16Kb, the circuit could be for write protection so that the computer can run copy protected cartridge in RAM Yeah, I saw fibrewire's post and got excited. Then, after I posted my questions, I read the rest of the thread and found out I have one of the "rare" Rev. F cards. So I edited my original post so I didn't look like a fool. Now that you bring it up, I bet it's part of "The Pill". That also came with the 800. I'll check it out and see if I can dump a cart and then use the switch to run it. Thanks for the quick reply. -Bob

This was in an 800 I acquired a while ago. Is this a standard 800 memory board? It looks different than an uncased Intec 16K board. Anyone know what the smaller board with switch is for? The 800 will boot with the switch in one position, but not in the other. The board is in the last memory slot in the 800. I've attached pics of what I have. Thanks, -Bob

Yes! Thank you santosp! I am eagerly awaiting this. -Bob

I would like to be added to the list. We're up to 5 now. But, if everyone ordered 2 then we would only need 10 people. We would be halfway there! -Bob
