Unicorns season: Prince of Persia for the A8!
+Adam+ replied to rensoup's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
Not true. The latest news from the coder about IK+ is from January 12th in this thread on AtariOnline.pl (in Polish): https://atarionline.pl/forum/comments.php?DiscussionID=496&page=4 -
As far as I can see no-one shared in this thread an actual link to Last Ninja demo - it was a part of Last Party 2023, here's the stuff: https://last-party.pl/2023/last-2023.zip

Scorched/Worms/Angry Bird kind of games
+Adam+ replied to manterola's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
@Beeblebrox But you're aware that it's a different graphics mode from "Albert" and in the hi-res mode the changes of the background color would affect also the field pixels color? Which would mean that every time the ground slides down, it changes color. It could look strange for some players. Perhaps ultimately in "Scorch" there should be several options of visualization to choose from, one of them could be a such colorization, but I wouldn't make it a default one. -

Well, to be honest I'm not sure, I suppose Lem is less recognizable in the US than in Europe? -
Scorched/Worms/Angry Bird kind of games
+Adam+ replied to manterola's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
I just realized: what we have here on this page is a discussion of Pirx and Probability Dragon which makes this thread the most Stanisław Lem-oriented thread on AtariAge at the moment And the cherry on top is the third character - Beeblebrox from books influenced by some of Lem's works... -
I mean legs position, not the whole frame.
-
My suggestion is that frame $04 should be in place of $09 and vice versa.

Well, in "Total Eclipse" created in 1988 (using "Freescape" engine) there was some movement granularity: one can change step length ("S" key) and angle ("A" key) during the game. Here is a video from A8 conversion (2018), in 0:39 it's visible that the step length is being changed (look on the hieroglyphs above the watch) and next steps are bigger:

Maybe "Solaris" or "Haunted House" (mentioned before)? For a moment I was thinking that maybe you could consider a port of some modern homebrew A2600 game - with the permission of original creator(s) of course, probably majority of them would be happy to share the source code - but nowadays most of A2600 games are written in batari Basic I suppose?
