  1. A while back I purchased a heavy sixer on eBay that was advertised as working. And when it arrived, it did work fine. But one day when my wife was playing it, she suddenly got three green lines down the right side of the screen and it then went black. Now no cartridges work at all on it, it's just a black screen. Is the unit fried, or is there a fix for it? I would appreciate any help. Thanks.
  2. I collect because it brings back great memories. I was born in 1958, so the console didn't come out till I was in my early 20's. I got my first credit card and the Atari was the first thing I bought with it. That and the Space Invaders cart. I love Space Invaders. Between me and a friend of mine, we played that cart to no end. I ended up getting like thirty carts for the thing. I then packed it away when I made a move, and never unpacked it. One day I was going through some boxes, and there it was. I pulled it out, hooked it up and it worked like new, as did all the games. I got hooked again. I then started getting games I always wanted but never did back in the day off EBay. Now I have a few of the new ones, and keep checking the auction sites for more I never had. But they always bring back the memories of when I first got it...the visuals, the sounds...priceless.
  3. Keep in mind...when a movie shows it's copyright date, it's at the end in the credits...not in the title...and it's usually done in roman numerals.
  4. A darth vader model I got on EBay. My original wouldn't work the second player. So I found this one, took a chance on it and it works like new.
  5. Hi all. My old computer crashed a while ago. So I reloaded all the ROM's again and redownloaded Stella and all works well. But on my old computer I had a ROM for a version of Missile Command that worked with the mouse as a trackball. In other words, the cursor moved with the mouse, not at it's own speed. I can't find that ROM anywhere. DOes anyone have it they can post or direct me to where I can find it? Thanks in advance.
  6. I got mine at Kauffman's department store and it was a light sixer...it then got lost during a repair and replaced with a Sears Telegames light sixer. I now have a darth vader which works real well.
  7. Thanks Serious, I appreciate the kind words. I don't only do vector work either, so anything is not off the table. As long as I can do it on the computer. I have been an artist since I can remember taking all the classes in school and even having art teachers campaigning to get me into their classes...all proud moments. But an accident left my right hand partially paralyzed, so freehand drawing is yet to be perfected again. But in Corel Draw on the computer I can do almost anything. So as Serioius says, please keep me in mind. I am on disability, so I have PLENTY of time to kill, so I can promise a fast turnaround.
  8. They look great. And a lot of fun.
  9. And just so you all know I can do more than trace...
  10. After doing the River Raid art for Mef, I got carried away so to speak. I experimented with other box covers. I can only do the one style of Activision games due to the simple line drawings they are...and most of them have the signature rainbow which proves to be a challenge on every one. But here is another one I did.
  11. I'll need your email address to send you the EPS file. They won't allow me to post them here. Mine is kennetzel@roadrunner.com
  12. Mef hasn't responded to either the post or my personal message. I don't know if he thinks the new posts on the thread cover the old drawing I sent him or he just hasn't checked in. But to those who may be interested anyway, here is the river raid art he is looking for. I was able to put it into Corel Draw and trace it out to give him a clean, artifact free drawing. It also now exists as a vector file which can be sent as an EMF file to preserve the vectoring. If anyone is interested...as long as it is simple line art...I can duplicate this kind of thing. I am on disability and have plenty of time on my hands, so I would be happy to help anyone who needs it in cases like this. But I thought you all might like to get a look at how it turned out.
