  1. She doesn't power on any more and refused to play most 7800 carts when she did (but she played 2600 fine) but if anyone wants one to play around with or salvage parts off of or even make a piece of art out of, they're more than welcome to it. The bottom of the outer shell is shattered and the rest of it isn't in the best shape. I'd be more than happy to send it off to a good home to be fixed or I'll give her a viking funeral. All I ask is shipping cost (I dunno what it would be). GONE
  2. Just an update, it must have been the system. I got a new 7800 and it works perfectly with the CX78 joypads and the games all work. So strange, no game past '88 worked. I wonder what was changed. BTW, enjoying the hell out of Midnight Mutants and Ninja Golf right now Also a quick note, because Ninja Golf has no music (aside from the sparse musical sting every so often) I found the soundtrack to Kung Fury fits the game perfectly.
  3. I'm using the CX78 joypads. I found a pair in a shop in downtown Chicago for cheap. You think that's it?
  4. Hey guys, Been a long time since I posted here but I just recently started rebuilding my Atari 7800 collection from scratch. I got one that works (I think) and I've gotten Midnight Mutants and Ninja Golf in perfect shape. Neither worked, so I got new ones, sealed, they didn't work. Dig Dug works, Donkey Kong Jr. works. Pole Position II works. I'm 90% sure those games that wont work are NTSC, I cleaned the ever loving crap out of them. I just don't know. Is it possible that my unit is just going bad and it won't work with later games? I know Dig Dug, DK Jr. and PP II are all like 88 and before and Ninja Golf and Midnight Mutants are 90 and after. Does that even make sense those wouldn't work? They make it to the multi-colored Atari banner and then blank screen, sometimes they make a mono-toned squeal. Is it bad ROMs four times in a row? Anybody ever hear of this?
  5. Hey guys, I was just wondering if anybody refurbishes Bally Astrocade controllers, if not I need to buy some. Thanks guys. We just got a Bally Astrocade in at work and we bought it, unfortunately, none of the controllers work properly. If there are no controllers, we are selling it $199.99 as is. I tested it with my functional ones and it works beautifully. We are selling it with 17 games.
  6. That is more of a camera effect, it's more silvery than that. Make no mistake though, there is a little yellowing around the edges.
  7. Here are some pictures of the case. It is in fact for a model 2 SEGA CD with a model 2 Genesis. I do not believe there was a model 1 SEGA CD rental case (there was a model 1 Genesis rental case). Please notice the condition of the inner foam, the rips in the bottom all over the controller holders, the Justifier impression in the foam on the lid of the case, and just the impression of various things all over the foam. I had purchased this from a Blockbuster in the mid 2000s, and it was in this condition. I was able to get the system and case for $24.99. Anyway, if there is any angle I didn't cover or a part you want a closer look at, let me know. I saw one that is gone now on Ebay that went for $150 in similar condition (a hinge was broken and the foam was damaged). However, that is Ebay and I wouldn't expect $150 here. Make me a fair offer or even a good trade. I'm always on the look out for cool Colecovision stuff or early NES stuff ( mid-tier rare games, memorabilia, etc.). SNES too.
  8. Hey y'all, I'm looking to trim the fat from my game collection and nowhere easier is it to trim than at my SEGA collection. Already sold all my Master System stuff and random SG-1000 games, now I'm looking to get rid of a pretty rare piece. For sale is the Blockbuster rental case for a Sega CD. Please note that the SEGA CD is not included. The inside foam of the case is not in the best shape, the label is wrinkled and yellowed, however it is completely intact. I was running late for work and my camera ran out of batteries, so pictures will be up tonight or tomorrow. This is more of and interest check kinda thing then at the moment, still, let me know if you're interested. Feel free to PM. EDIT: ADDED PICS BELOW
  9. I got a few posters that I'm not using from the late NES early SNES era of Nintendo. Let me root around at my store, I'm sure there are a ton of Genesis posters for common games we have sitting in the back if my coworkers haven't pitched them yet. I'll let you know what I dig up.
  10. Got my CV upgraded with an A/V mod and controller refurbish. The system works better than when it was new and I haven't seen the picture this clear ever. Thanks Yurkie!
  11. You already have the hardest to obtain (with the manual)... and it's an awesome game
  12. Oooooo, if only I didn't have a complete NTSC Virtual Boy collection I may have to pick one of those up though... I hear that Gundam game and Space Invaders are awesome, plus homebrews are always fun to mess around with
  13. You will not regret it VB is super fun. A really underrated and demonized system for what it is (I think the internet is to blame). I love mine... thinking about getting it out and having a go right now. Oh, and I would suggest tracking down an AC adaptor if it doesn't have one. The battery pack is fine, but sometimes it's a real b**** to track down a bunch of AAs. Also, invest in Visine and lots of it.
  14. Just a heads up, I saw on Amazon the other day a Virtual Boy for $269 + $12.24 shipping that is complete, listed as very good with 7 games + manuals and system manual including the rarest game on the VB, Jack Bros. If the game is the NTSC ver. of Jack Bros it would be more than worth it when you consider you should expect to pay around $100 on the upper end for a complete working VB in very good condition + $150 typically for Jack Bros w/ manual. I would for sure contact the seller and confirm it is in fact the NTSC ver. though, since the Japanese version (while still somewhat rare) is worth much less. The only downside is that Mario Clash and Wario World are not among the included games... and those games really are the only reason to own a VB besides Jack Bros.
